Tazer JL Mini Malfunctioning

Just purchased this Tazer JL Mini via Amazon and had it delivered yesterday. After a few attempts to update the firmware to the latest version, it finally updated "successfully"... or maybe not? IDK What I do know is it's now malfunctioning after being "married" to my Wrangler 392. It's obviously defective. I've been waiting all day for a reply to my email I sent yesterday to Z Automotive but it's now past closing time and nothing yet. Will try calling them tomorrow and see if they will replace it. I will update this description when/if I get this resolved.

Try to update the tazer. I installed a tazer on my 2023 JL and it works fine.

I updated it before I installed it, as the instructions said. The first time, the update failed. I then did a restore and tried again. It was "successful" the second attempt. I think the tazer was physically defective because of the hit-and-miss inconsistent behavior. Customer service wasn't helpful at all and just put the blame on me, saying I must have not configured it properly. I got tired of dealing with it and them and returned it to Amazon.
