You say you are not a professional 🤥 this is sensational! What a home run Do It Yourself project. The moment you said (wrote) Magico though...I knew there is no budget about it friend...lol. Thank you for sharing the details and timeline. You must be very satisfied and happy with the end results.
Beautiful, just beautiful. This is so well done with so much love for the details, i love it. Youre craftsmanship is really an inspiration for me. I watched youre videos on youre speakers and i saw myself there. Im so in love with wilson audio speakers but they are not anywhere in reach for me, so i want something like that by my own. Then i found youre video with pure luck and felt in love with youre selfmade high end speakers. Thanks for the inspiration and this beautiful video. I would defenitely take an selfmade room like this above anything else thats just bought. Also the music is just so beautiful and well chosen. I wish you and youre family nice christmas days and a wonderfull time in youre listening room. Im happy if you keep this channel updated. With best regards, Max.
Thank you so much for this brilliant comment :) Highly appreciated! and all the best and merry for you too! BTW, working on the "The Loudspeaker 2". So this channel is staying alive
Absolutely Stunning listening room! Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail, with a such a fabulous textured result. We can all gather some inspiration from your skillful handiwork, Thank you! - A life filled with music is a life well lived. - Please do not invite me over, you may never get me to leave...
Thank you Colin, appreciate your comment. I have calculated to spent about 4k on that room... of course, affordable is relative... but I think 4k for room Transformation is on the tight side.
I have absolutely no word to say how i have been impressed by your magnificient work ... of course it's much better to conceive a room around the hifi system than adding accoustic elements into an existing room ; I just would like to hear how it sounds ... Moreover, the piece of music of the video (Google says it's Renaissance : Face of yesterday) is absolutely outstanding. Thank you for sharing this fantastic moment.
Great Job. Ive been doing my room for a few years now. I ended up doing my whole front and back wall with 2 ft deep Rockwool, Side walls with 200mm panels 1st 2nd 3rd reflection and ceiling. I originally had 50mm then modified them to 100mm then 200mm. I have some diffusion but need to make some Quadratic Diffusers like yours. Im not quite a craftsman like yourself so have had to adapt some of panels. Some are just giant blocks I made 4ft x 4ft x 2ft that will be hidden. I really enjoyed your video and has given me more inspiration especially seeing your Diffusers. Great Stuff
Very nice room, Good work! This video is completely aspirational for me, I'm so glad I found it. I do not have you're obvious skill and patience, but I applaud peple like you who do. Thanks for sharing this project with us.
Thanks for taking Us along on this metamorphosis. You have exquisite skillsets. So if you're in the mood, check out Transcendent Sound Kits, OTLs for pennies on the dollar of commercial hardware, and sound unlike anything else I've heard or built. Shalom.
@@noamgellerdiy Let me know what you think. I own two amps both OTLs, one a Class AB design the T-16, no longer sold, and an older version of the Minibeast, SET OTL with 3, EL 509's a channel. The newer version has 2, EL 509's with less power but passes square waves at 10 KHz. There is a 300B OTL that people on the, "Forum", claim is the best amp they've ever heard. I also own the Masterpiece pre and slowly building the Slider for its phono stage. I've not heard better, and I used to build solid state, Class A, MOSFET output stage based on PC boards from Old Colony/Audio Amateur Lang amp topology.
Thanks for your awsome comment! As I mentioned in other comments, I've spent some where between 4k-5k on the room. Budget indeed in today's crazy high-end prices.
As they say, everything is relative. That is budget alright - for wealthy folks. Don't think I know what those floor standers are but they are budget too I suppose.
Absolutely, everything is relativ... I managed to get the room with about 4000-5000€. The standmount loudspeaker I've built as well, so about 1500€. The real cost is time......lots of it!!
Congrats. Nice work. Is there an updated video coming? You end with ...to be continued. Would like to know how you feel about your listening room one year on,
This was really a cool thing to watch. The craftsmanship was quite stunning. Did you do a testing of the room acoustics before and after your work. How did you decide where to put the absorption and the diffuser panels, was it done based upon your inner intuition. Curious how things worked out how does it sound?
Hey , first of all thanks for your comment. I haven't used any mesuring aquipment , only common sense and information I retrieve from books on acoustics and youtube Videos, there is ton of information about yet no ready made solution that will work for all rooms. It is a lot of trial and error. I just tried to deal with the obvious issues. In the mean while I see it as much more important subject than choosing the next speakers or amp, it has obviously the biggest impact on sound quality. So definitely go for it.
Hey Audio Didact, thanks for your comment 👍😊. Budget is always relativ... I've got this room done for under 5k. I know some people buying loudspeaker cable with that amount. Towels are very beneficial as we know from Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but I am afraid you'll need a loooooooot of towels to treat a room 😀 maybe even 5k worth of towels 😅
@@noamgellerdiy $5k is way under what I expected. But your craftsmanship in this case is worth...$20k? $50k? It's very hard to quantify. It could be way more. So your results are VERY premium I think. I've been treating for some years now, and some people think I'm crazy, but your treatment is next level! It must be good but maybe we need a ladder to get to that point.
Thanks mate! Yep, Im trying hard to spend as little as I can on those projects and mostly I'm buying second hand... price to pay is time, lot's of time... luckily my wife understands that creation is the best therapy, so there you have it, a win win situation 😉 . Thanks again for your comments 🙏🏼
Question it you put sound dampening all over the walls and ceiling wouldn't hard wood floors be doing the opposite the rest of the room is doing. I'm truly curious
My theory was to try to capture the sound in between the walls, making a more effective absorber... I thought that it would make the room sound bigger then it is, yet still have reflective surface which is also important... obviously I couldn't treat the floor the same since the ceiling was anyway too low. All in all it felt like a very nice quiet room.
@@noamgellerdiy the reason why I ask is I have a basic den I use as my vinyl music room and I'm wondering if I put some sound buffers on the walls will give me a better sound. I don't have the gear you have but it maybe could improve the sound
@@Suddsy. treating your room will give a huge leap in sound quality. Untreated rooms are the biggest handicap for any system... only when the room is well treated, you can appreciate what your system truly can do!
