I'm telling y'all, after spending the afternoon with all sort of extravagante exotic modern bling bling in the munich high End show this grandpa of a speaker showed how it's done! are we going backwards?? 4 days have past since the audio show and I'm still pondering, how on earth the Western Electric speaker (97years old) has surpassed everything I've heard, conveying a full blown piano infront...

Infra à couper le soufle. Je suis conquis par le bms. RIP 2242.
Did you increase depth of speaker for using 30mm Beech?
Yes exactly
I will buy this if its for sale
It was until yesterday, now sold... you are very welcome to contact me about other projects 🙂
What are the Mundorf Mresist Ultra resistors like? Are they worth it?
I would say yes, they are. Especially for the tweeter and mid on signal path. They are in general smoother. I will try the pathaudio resistors as well in the next build.
Sitting on my toilet and hearing this through my iPhone speakers and it sounds insane!
Yes, DIY is the way to go
Nice, but they sound like loudspeakers. As opposed to like just pure music, ie from Troels Gravesen TL-1. 😀
@@keithbrandson6293 I agree 🤷♂️
Name of the Song please ?

@noamgellerdiy thank you
wonderful!
Love the view : )

Hello Noam Geller, I want to build a pair of Ekta 7714 or a pair of the loudspeakers 1, really in doubt, and totally different. I see you have build a seas based 4 way design of Troels as well. Can you tell what are the differences in sound are, besides that i guess the dynamics on the TL are probably superiour. But does the seas sound tonally more precise? I'm curious to your experiences. Nice tonearm btw...
Ho man, that's the hardest question to answer. However here is my very crude take on those speakers: -Seas nextwl drivers are in general lush sounding. One can also say detailed, fast, non aggressive, easy on the ears. Very enjoyable for string instruments and voices. Scan speak is a bit more revealing, tends to sound more bass heavy and the jump factor is higher. So maybe more impressive in an high end kind of way. For this reasons I prefer the more relaxed Seas. TL1/TL2 is just again very different. A dynamic monster that can play everything loud and without distortion. Non of the drivers ever move much=lower distortion. Sound quality wise I rate the TL family higher then anything I had. Most of the speakers I had are saying clearly when they are done, not so with the TL2, give it better electronics and it will never be the weakest link. Hope it helps!
rats will live behind those shelfs
Not in Germany they won't
Great work. Which one of the Troels speakers that you build and listening to give most "bang for the bucks"?. My HiFi cave is 26m2 / 280sqft, you have any suggestion on what Troels speaker I should consider?. Brgds and carry on.
Thank you for your kind comment 🙏🏼 For your question, that's a tough a one. For a budget oriented I would have peak a model from the fusion models, 3WC-10 for example or the 12inch version. This is a great speaker and very straightforward no bullshit appearance as well, one can make it look like a retro vintage style speaker which could look awsome. The rest that I have heard like the cno4, next4 and so are a bit more refined, I don't know your music taste but if you listen to instrument and voices then Seas can get you some very fine system. For life like dynamics body and realism TL family is king. BTW, Atiri model is back, I bet that's a fantastic speakers as well- seems to be very similar to Kawero classic.
Do you know if any of Troels‘s designs are suitable for nearfield listening of around 2 meters?
I think if you go to his site he has a couple 2 way plans.
@@michaelsegel8758 good question... If you like Seas lush sound signature then the 2way cno model must be excellent.
@@noamgellerdiy thanks, I didn‘t expect that the CNO mkIII would work nearfield around 2 meters
Just to add to this, I think most of Troels designs the drivers sum together well at about 2m or a smidge less.
@@GavinHodgson thx
I see your 'magico' speakers in the background. Made me think... of all of your projects... which one was your favorite?
Hmmm... from what I had and heard to date from Troels Gravesen, the TL2 is the best of them. Only problem is size and price. But you really get an End speaker. Would love to hear the Ellipticor though, maybe someday 🤷♂️
Hi, as I remember the bifrost is normally vented, isn’t it?
@@I.am.KubKab yes, the bifrost is a two way vented design. The original Bifrost really didn't work so well at my place and I had a second pair of woofers at hand, so it started as an experiment... Works pretty well.
At a first glance it looked like Troel‘s CNO
Always great work Noam! Can you made a new videos with closed Bms subwoofer in action? Thanks so much😃😆
@@fabriziorado1060 thank you Fabrizio 🙏 good idea, I'll try to implement them and of course make a video🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Noam! I'm two reflex in 180lt., and I'm very curious to hear them in a closed box😀😀
Nice sound
Nice work - bifrost, but you’ve modded the crossover to 2.5 way?
Hey Gavin, nope just stuck two woofers in parallel to see what's happening. Seems to work 😌
Amazing better than TL2?
Hmmmm, no. TL2 is still the king on the hill for my ears. But, if you are searching for something pleasent detailed and smooth the seas Nextel drivers are just that.
Wow. Nice! Haven't seen much content from you recently. Great to see more good designs.
Thank you Michael and yes every construction takes so much time... but I'm still at it 🙏
Nice work 👍
No new vid? :(
Working on it :)
Woooooow
Mighty impressive, thank you for sharing! Anyone know how long it took to plan and build this?
Thank you! It took about 1 and half years of building and tweaking.
Great sound Unfortunately I only have a listening room of 12sqm Do you have an idea which Troels’ design could fit into 12sqm I don’t mind if the speakers are larger, my only concern is the amounts of energy they release into the room
Thank you. I think you should look at his 2 ways designs. There is a new one that just came out. Expensive but probably great
@@noamgellerdiy Thank you. You probably are talking about the Ellipticor 1824. I was lurking around the Illuminator 71 and the 8008 corner in the last days
I would also consider plutone from Tony Gee. Humble homemade. Looks very promising 👌
@@noamgellerdiy yes, but the Scan Speaker is not in production anymore. I didn't find the tweeter yet. Actually the Plutone was my first choice.
@@I.am.KubKab but the plutone uses Seas no?
Great work, thank you for sharing
Do you still like these speakers?
They are still very good speaker but there are now better options from Troels. The TL2 is on a different planet
