    Another great video. The Victory can be very effectively combined with Arquittens to create a corner threat force.

    Hell yes! I've been waiting for this one. I know ISD is a virtual staple but the Victory is a great ship to fly. Thanks for this; keep it up you Aussie maniacs.

    I've been tempted to try and used the venerable VSDs in a game. Hopefully, these tips will help.

    I can't wait for the Harrow, completely covers the movement vulnerability with engine techs. My build I'm working on is a Vic II Harrow with overload pulse, weapon battery techs, engine techs, disposable capacitors, and quad batteries paired with a Cymoon red dice rampage Avenger that has turbo reroutes with Needa, Shields to Maximum! to keep its friends alive, Tarkin for versatility, Gunnery Teams, and a Spinal Armament, test throws have it rolling 5-6 damage in reds when on a concentrate fire token and using the reroutes but haven't gotten to properly use it in a game just yet. I also have it paired with a Glad I Demolisher with Assault Concussion, Emp Palp for a bit of discouragement especially with that Avenger looming around, Engine Techs and Ordnance Experts. It comes out to a fair price of 392. Advanced Gunnery, Fleet Ambush, and Minefields to give some control if I need to take second but it's a fleet that wants first player and can handle second.

    Besides the speed 2 this is a very well rounded ship

  • @SuperDecimator
    @SuperDecimator 3 года назад

    Grand Moff Tarkin can give the VSD's tokens for other functions while the ships use Nav commands to turn better. It's a way to make a well rounded fleet with some mobility still.

    I've been thinking of trying a three Vic build and seeing how that would work out.

      Jeremy Knight I ran a two VSD list recently in one of our batreps - it was ok but I wouldn’t say it was great though!

      Oh no I'm not holding any hope of it being awesome but it would be kind of cool to see a wedge of Vics crawling across the table...

    a Question would you recommend playing Quasar as direct squadron activation ship thus risking entering the battle or throug indirect activation like lambdas and Centicore ?

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  6 лет назад

      tehMaev our next Captains Clinic is going to be on the Quasar I believe (we now put it up on our Patreon for our Patrons to vote on!). But as a quick response I try to have it on the edge of the battle using Boosted Comms to command squads.

    Great job guys. I usually play a VSD as a brawler, to buy some breathing room for something else like an Interdictor or an ISD. Do you run Interdictors very much?

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  6 лет назад

      Intel Officer Luke has been running them and rates them very highly in the current meta! You can see it in our latest batrep that will be released Friday afternoon.

    I like a lot the Victory, yeah the speed and their low turn capacity are a big problem but I dicover the same with the Almirant. Jerrod allow to Victorys more effective,they are like a ofensive screen with Jerrod becasuse can turn really close so they are threat in terms of fire cover.
    Additionally one estrategy that work is to have many of them. Like 3 or 4 (it will cost you all point) but with that number and their “upgrade” capacity tu turn arround with Jerrod they cover each other and make a nightmare ofensive screen. Any ship won’t to go in a place you have two Victory Star Destroyers aiming. +you own upgrades (as more ofensive better)
    The damage could be horrifing even for the biggest Mon Calamaris or Star Destroyers imperial class (especially from back) and small ship or medium will have to go with a lot of care because 6 dices plus Firepower order plus upgrades can blow the ship at one shot if you’re lucky.Or at least heavely damaged. To give a shure end to enemy ship use 2 maximum 3 Victorys (I know is focus all in only one ship) but the trick is if the ships are bigger it will cost more always so normally you will count wil the number,if the are equal or smaller you firepower is to dangerous to be in you arc (but they will have to)
    I’m agree with you in all you say. I’m surpresed with the fact that a few people bring them.
    It,s true that other arcs are poor but the front with gunery team is enaught to shot only with front especially if you have many of them.

      Whilst it's a valid strategy to take 4 vsds, the main issue is squadron defence and deployment. I explained in this video that you can mitigate deployment issues using the corner, but with 4 vsds you end up with 1-2 vsds exposed on the flanks that are susceptible to being focused on.

      MOTF mmm 🤔 I will have to test it.
      Thank you.
      I have a request, can you please make how to Fly a Interdirector ?
      I have one and I find it especially usefull also a easy casulty for the enemy. I liked a lot with the SW-Ion canons.
      Acurracy are damage too.
      Thank you.😊 I just have discover your chanel and I’m seeing many of your videos to improve like a player.

      Not against squadrons

    • @BaileyBecca
      @BaileyBecca 3 года назад

      MOTF i didn’t know it was against squadrons now that makes more sence. Does accuracy still work on named squadrons?

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  3 года назад +1

      Sure does, but if you're only throwing 1 dice there's really not much point in keeping the accuracy

    No mention of External Racks?

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  6 лет назад

      Jonas Hemmingsson definitely an option on a VSD-I! Make that front arc seriously high damage.

  • @nwstraith
    @nwstraith 6 лет назад +2

    So with Warlord and Turbolasers, your AA gun is a guaranteed hit on every squadron in range...

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  6 лет назад +1

      nwstraith that is correct! It’s a bit of an expensive combo though.

    • @nwstraith
      @nwstraith 6 лет назад +1

      Pair that with Agent Kallus and it may be worth it if your opponent likes to run hero squadrons

    • @nwstraith
      @nwstraith 6 лет назад +1

      Add ordnance pods and Kallus in this configuration, you could get 3 guaranteed hits vs a hero squadron for the low price of 95 points for a VSD1

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  6 лет назад

      nwstraith definitely a strong combo not sure I follow how it would be 3 guaranteed damage though(?)

    • @nwstraith
      @nwstraith 6 лет назад +1

      If you're able to double arc a hero you can get 1 for each arc, then 1 from ordnance pods, for 3 total. That's showing that hero a LOT of hate to focus a VSD on it like that, but it's possible.

    The emperial officer at the beginning is an admiral not a captain

    • @motf7552
      @motf7552  6 лет назад

      Correct! An Admiral or General (depending on whether its an Imperial Navy or Imperial Army officer), which makes sense for our logo considering we're Masters of the Fleet and Masters of the Force! Need a high ranking officer for that level! :)
