It says a lot about Lemmy that even being one of the most hardcore drinkers in rock history, when another guy didn't handle his booze well, Lemmy didn't even give him shit for it. Just asked if he was OK.
At least that's the way I took Ian's version of it, and it seems to match what tons of other people say about Lemmy being generally a nice dude.
Lemmy was an excellent human being. They forgot to tell him that he was a rock star - he just thought he had a lot of cool friends.
But, you would have never seen that guy act like a rock star, or treat anyone like he was one. He was pretty much on display daily at the Rainbow, when he wasn't on the road, and it doesn't matter who approached him or when, you would think he was just another customer. He talked to you just as polite and would carry on a conversation with you as he would to Dave Grohl or someone.
He was a phenomenal human being. I'd be willing to bet that he probably never tried to intentionally hurt someone's feelings his entire life. He wasn't about negativity, or bringing people down. If you had a problem, he just moved on, unless you wanted to sit down and talk about it like an adult. He was a rare human being.

80s hard rock bands almost always had at least one member with the "duck lips" thing going on in photo shoots. Often, all the members were doing it.
I always thought it was really asinine, and made them look stupid. But I guess it worked for them; they all seem to have slept with a bazillion women.
Oh, the good ol' St Moritz, used to hang out there in mid to late eighties. Lemmy was always in there on the fruit machine.
My Army buddy ran into a Lemmy at a whorehouse somewhere in Hungary. He was on the slot machine thing there too.

Yes, it seems like it, huh? The other thing I always found amusing about him is he is curious about everything. I heard the producer mention it in one of these videos, that Tommy liked to keep up on the latest drum technology, etc.
One of those home videos/documentaries they did where they went back to their old apartment just above the Whiskey, They were in the apartment and going to do a photo shoot after a little interviewing, and apparently, one of the cameramen was using an old camera that he liked the results he got from it, so he still used it.
Anyway, long story short - posing for photos, Tommy stops and says "Did you just wind that camera?" "How old is that fckin' thing?" then, the next hour the cameraman and Tommy are going over this camera and the guy is explaining everything about it to Tommy. He doesn't miss a beat of anything that goes on around him. lol.

I met Lemmy at the Rainbow, he called me over ,and asked me how I had all these "birds" following me and me being 6'4, and looking like a beautiful........man! Anyway, this was 1986/7 and me and Lemmy talked for a few hours ,I kept getting long Island ice tea ,about 7 of them and he just kept drink jack and coke,and then when we started to get sloopy ,we went to the bathroom and did some lines! Best coke ever,he did his lines ,I did my own ! So after that ,we would talk for a while and he was very cool! When Capitol records wanted to my sign band Trick Or Treat! And we were going to tour this Japan come back k and start recording the new album!
Haha nice. I met Lemmy at the Rainbow too but in 2009. I had just moved to Hollywood and went to the Rainbow a couple weeks after being there and when I went to the back of the outdoor area I saw Lemmy and Billy Bob Thornton shooting the shit at a table. I didn’t say anything at first but after a few drinks I went over and said hello and offered to buy them a round. They were both incredibly nice and I ended up chatting with them for about 30 mins. After that I saw him many a times at the Rainbow and he always remembered my name. He was such a down to earth, nice person. So thankful to have met him before he passed. RIP Murder One.

So ,I know the story, he was really cool, and I'm glad we got to party a few times! I love it when someone who was sitting in their parents basement gives me a hard time! I would tell you a out the time my band Trick Or Treat, Motley Crue and WASP partied f ok r 2 weeks ,I instead of rehearsing, until Ron Smallwood came out to find his band wasted and girls passed every where! I woke up with 2 girls behind Micks Marshalls and Tommy laying over his drums with something dripping out of his mouth! Me and my bass player Tony Riedell already knew different guys in each band ,so WE GOT the coke,and Rod ,the bass player in WASP and Tommy and Nikki just snorted everything in sight! Then Nikki and Tommy got their stuff,I did a line ,felt great and threw up all over the bathroom wall! That was insane! In 89 my band Fatal Attraction opened 6 shows for Motley Crue, and I thought it would suck beczusr they had sobered up,not quite, it was just out of sight usually in Tommy's room!

Don Airey and Rudy Sarzo were there that fateful day and said it appeared that Randy was struggling with the coked out pilot, trying to get him to pull up, and was only partially successful. If Randy hadn't made the guy pull up just the amount that he did, Ozzy, Tommy, Rudy, Don and Sharon would likely have been killed too. Just my opinion from what I've read and seen in interviews. But glad someone else here, DudeMan4000, has paid attention...😎

They were animals back in the early 80’s pretty much any band out of that early era would tell you how much Mötley partied, Niko from Iron Maiden said that they were the only band that could really handle their alcohol out of any of the bands their toured and partied with!! Drinking Alcohol on stage might of been a gimmick but there are real people who can drink just about a gallon or more of booze a day trust me I know, I have a high tolerance for Vodka!! I can hang with about a gallon or so on a good night, most nights a gallon is good enough for me!! 👌🏼🤘🏼

Randy wasn't doing something stupid - the pilot was. Randy didn't even like flying, but, he had gotten into photography, so when the bus driver offered to take him and the wardrobe lady up, after he had already taken other people up, Randy went just because he thought he could get some cool pictures. The bonehead bus driver was the one who thought it was funny to "buzz" Ozzy in the bus.

I honestly can't believe Vince let's himself go that bad. Nobody is expecting him to be Mick Jagger but a lead singer with millions of dollars, no day job, should be able to stay in somewhat decent shape. He doesn't have that great of a voice but his livelihood depends on his appearance and voice and lead singers who play no instruments do get judged on their appearance to a certain extent.
He has so much money to hire trainers and personal chefs and meal plans. I think he'd be fine if he just walked a few miles a day and lifted weights for 30 minutes 2 or 3 days a week and cut his boozing down to just weekends.
I would think before his big summer tour with the band he'd quit drinking for a few months before the shows.
He looks like he drinks a 12 pack a day, with several shots and maybe tops it off with ordering a pizza for dinner.
