Hey my friend from the Netherlands! I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. It’s always great hearing from you. Send me a video from the Netherlands of a ship.🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Hey Mike. One of your better video's. Superior has a lonely feeling about it. I only wish the Barker would have howled. Thanks. Chicago, mostly clear skies, 46 degrees, 4-22-24. 03:05 hours
Tim, I really appreciate you saying this. What a delightful comment. It really really brought a smile to my face all the best to you, brother. I hope you have a fantastic Monday.
Thanks for bringing the boats to us. One of these days I'll get a picture of a ship out on the Cook Inlet. Hopefully with Mount Redoubt in the background. 52 degrees here in ALASKA. Our Seagulls returned March 24th, a sign of spring here. Still no Robin's.
Hey friend, I hope all is well there in Alaska. Those seagulls are making a return here in Duluth. They didn’t really go too far but now they’re really gonna come back because of all the food the tourists throw to them. I’ve noticed that in Duluth.
Interesting! I dont think I have seen this dock before! This marker is new and those fire things in the water is new to me too! You are right bro, that is a beautiful spot! JRB is always very impressive to behold! Those iron ore pellets almost look like imperfect buckshot haha! Hope you have a fantastic Sunday Mike! Take care and God bless! 🙂🚢🛳

Now that is a site that I would love to show. And that does happen in the Midwest where you can catch that situation where the snow comes down, unbelievable.
We occasionally go to Hilton Head South Carolina sitting on the beach on a hot summer day ! We watch large container ships come out of what seems like a mirage heading into the port of Savannah ! It’s nice to pan with binoculars and see whats coming along with other interesting things as well ! 😁
Hey friend! Thank you so much for the comment. I’ve heard many people talk to me about Hilton head South Carolina. I have to get there someday. I heard the beaches are great there. I don’t believe you done a Superior video before so this was a real treat. We need to do this more often. You don’t get the big crowds and the salutes we all like but you get some beautiful open water and pretty scenery. This was very enjoyable.

Great question. How deep / wide / long ship canal: The canals length is 0.33 miles (0.53 k). The canal is maintained at 245 feet (75 m) wide. Depth: 28 to 32 feet in the entrance; 27 feet deep in the iron-ore route channels, and 20 to 23 feet in the inner channels. Here’s a little more information about dredging the canal. It’s a few years old, but the article still is relevant. www.lre.usace.army.mil/Media/News-Releases/Article/2289075/wisconsin-company-to-dredge-duluth-superior-harbor/ (www.lre.usace.army.mil/Media/News-Releases/Article/2289075/wisconsin-company-to-dredge-duluth-superior-harbor/)

Scott, I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. There’s nothing like catching the JRB and I wanted to show it in a new perspective. It’s a beast of a ship.
Hi Mike just catching up Another awsome video ! That is the first time I seen a ship come in the other entrance and the land around it There is a lot of drift wood logs on the beach You could build a kon tike raft and sail it to the soo ! Looking forward for more Have a great day !
Hey Mike! Im doing great, but my back do its best to ruin my day! Im started to prepare my van for a 5000 km. trip to northern part of Norway in july, but you know, Im not young anymore. 😉 Nice ship, by the way.
@@vibewithmike Thanks Mike. Yeah, Norway is maybe a small country, but we have tons of nice scenery, especially along our coast. I was raised outside Tromsø, and got a bit spolied with the spesial light up north. Midnight sun in summertime, and northern light at wintertime. You should definately take a trip over to Norway.
Hey, that’s wonderful to hear that you will be spending some time in Duluth. I hope you were able to see some of the big ships go through. Duluth in the summer is really magical. Really good weather and being by Lake Superior it makes it so much fun. Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch the video and to drop a comment, my friend.
My friend in Louisiana. Anytime our Boat, friends in Louisiana bring up their location. I think of the best gumbo and crawfish. Excellent food in Louisiana. And there’s some ships down there too.
THE JRB!!!! She's ALIVE!!! She gave us a scare last fall, but oh how wonderful it is to see her back in the grind!!! Missed her salute, but just knowing she is back to work is my thrill today!! Thanks, Mike!! What a thrill!! Just home from Nashville, TN had to put my dad in hospice.....waiting for the dreaded call.....😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hey Mike and all the GLOBAL BOAT FRIEND NATION, from a chilly Minneapolis. Visiting wifefy’s sister and hubby as she has been having some health issues. Looks like a nice day in the Dtown, and seeing a Kfooter coming in the Superior side is a treat. The wind really picked up out of the north, so I bet it was cold there as well. That is one beast of a ship, and will have a large load of slingshot ammo for sure….. Great video as always Mike, as you are Bringing the Thunder My Friend!!!!😮
My main man in Minneapolis! How are you my friend? There’s gonna be a lot of action there in the Twin Cities over the next few days. You have the Timberwolves in the playoffs, the Twins are playing, good times. It’s also good times when we see this awesome ship come through. I’m so excited to give you some interesting news and fun news at the same time. There’s going to be some good things happening with these ships and this channel.
@chucke4294 thank you very much, it feels like yesterday and then all of a sudden we have all of the people were around the world watching. These ships are absolutely fantastic and I think all of them are loved by all of us.
It is always exciting and wonderful to see one of these enormous ships come through the channel, and to see beautiful Lake Superior. Yesterday we had a few snow flurries in Western New York, too. It’s never safe to pack away the winter jacket and gloves in April! Hopefully by May these items can go in the back of the closet. The fog video from England was very interesting! My late dad spent some time in England and spoke of seeing what he called “pea soup fog” over there (thusly named because of its thickness). I think that this fog was of that variety!
That’s exactly right I’ve heard you see fog in England. Our friend that sent that video proves that for sure regarding a snowflakes Janet, someone told me never put the snow shovel or the jackets away until 4 July if you live in Minnesota 😆
@@vibewithmike The latest that I ever recall seeing falling snow was in early May, but as a child I remember still seeing some residual ice chunks in Lake Erie in early June (though this year was a fairly mild winter, so we won’t be seeing that). Our daughter’s family just moved further south, and winter there will seem very odd to them. Their winter jackets won’t get much use any more.
@janetryan9779 years ago, I believe we received some snow and very late April or early May as well. I think the temperature will be changing though for us for the better next week in Duluth.

It’s a place to pay lower taxes if you register your ship there. www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1980/08/15/the-fleet-from-delaware/14beeb17-7ff6-40a3-bb7e-0fdcacd70672/#
Thanks Mike for another great video as always this never gets old buddy keep them coming I'll definitely be watching from Brantford ontario canada cheers ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The barker is such a powerful shit. I could watch that one every day.
Hello Mike and boat friends greetings from the Netherlands 🇱🇺🛳️
Thanks Mike - love this view of Superior
I thought people would find it interesting. The ship is absolutely beautiful and there was some really cool things to show during the video today.
This ship entry is only a few miles away from the Duluth Bridge that we look at all the time. It’s really interesting to have a second entry. Johan, check this out man, I think you’ll find it. Interesting as it explains this area that I was standing at much better. www.johnweeks.com/river_stlouis/pages/stlL01.html
Thanks for driving all the way to Wisconsin! Miss the "bark", but no bridge to salute...
The bark was tamed today, but it still was a beast coming through right by us on the water. It was awesome to record this and upload today for everybody.
Love the channel, wondering why they don't use tugboat to help. Thinking east coast Bridge. Just in case.
I love the tugboats too, Jim. The thing I really like about them is as they go by you can hear the powerful engine rumbling.
Like the Superior Entry . I've been out of the loop lately . Has the Paul R . left winter layup ? Not seeing any vids from anyone .
Don, great hearing from you, brother. No, great question. The PRT is still sitting at the dock and it has not moved. There’s been a lot of speculation that it’s going to be loading and departing Duluth very soon. But I haven’t seen any movement. When I do. I plan on recording it.⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️
Great video Mike. Can't wait for your coming announcement . Cool here in Central Iowa 48deg. with a north wind.
I’m glad that you enjoyed this awesome ship. It’s gonna start warming up in Duluth soon.
Hi Mike❤ our family is coming up there Memorial Day weekend, so excited !! I hope we see you😊
Mary, there should be good weather in Duluth for you on memorial day and ships too
The JRB is one of my fave ships out on the Lake. Just love to see her every time she ships into Duluth. Now i’m vibin’ Mike!!!
Hey, thanks friend, I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. Did you see this ship video? ⚓️Vertical Challenge in Duluth: Giant Ship Nearly Grazes Bridge!

Mike you mentioned snow. My daughter lives in Southgate Michigan she was cutting her grass today and saw snow flakes.
I hope you subscribe (it’s free) and come back to my channel to watch more ship videos moving forward. It’s all about having fun with the ships!👍👍👍⛴️⛴️⛴️
Love the JRB, always like the 1000 footers. Thanks.
Ellen, it’s my absolute pleasure recording this ship for you. It’s an amazing vessel. I love it every time I see it.⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️
Favorite ship is the Sykes, favorite whistle is the Barker with the Munson a close second.
Absolutely, the Sykes is a stunning vessel. The captain is fantastic. She knows exactly what she’s doing out there.
Missed it live again! Thanks for all you do. It is going to be >90 all week. Kill me.
No worries friend, I will take some of that heat if you want to send it over to me 🤣 it was really fun recording this ship. Every chance I get to record it I always want to get it done so I can show everybody that loves it here on RUclips.
I don’t believe you done a Superior video before so this was a real treat. We need to do this more often. You don’t get the big crowds and the salutes we all like but you get some beautiful open water and pretty scenery. This was very enjoyable.
It’s so amazing recording the ships at the superior entry. You get a great video because they move so slow by you. I did do a few videos before at the same location. Here’s one of my favorites. m.ruclips.net/video/LXG6jGh9sW8/видео.html
It is a beauty but my favorite is and always be Arthur M Anderson♥️♥️
The Anderson is such a beautiful and historic ship. We both know that’s a crown jewel on the Great Lakes.
Favorite ship
It’s a beautiful and powerful ship. I think it’s definitely the number one shipped to most that love Great Lakes shipping with the current ships out there.
Good afternoon, Mike and Boat Friends! Another great video. Ahoy!
Hey Boat friend! Wonderful hearing from you I hope you’re having a fantastic Saturday and thank you for watching the ship and for the comment
Howdy Mike,have a great weekend my friend!!!❤😊
Lumpy, I always get a smile when I see a comment from you. I hope your Saturday is going fantastic. This was so fun to record the ship today. God bless you and your family.
I’m in the UK, and this my favourite ship on the lakes
It’s an awesome ship. What did you think about seeing that port there in the United Kingdom? Right in your neck of the woods.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Watching after as I have been enjoying the Soo! Love the JRB but add to the list the THE Queen and the Anderson!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Lauren, hope you’re doing great. It was fantastic meeting you the other day. Are you still in Duluth and are you going to be watching the Anderson tonight?
@@vibewithmike You have no clue how much your email meant plus meeting you and your wife!!! I am watching the Anderson online but going to watch a saltie called the Maria G go thru the locks in person! Plus the Presque Isle is coming thru now!
Nope! No invitation,,, Mike Must have been lost in the mail.
We better bring a bunch of fish so we get the invite next time
@@vibewithmike LOL agrees.
@67wildwolf 👍👍👍⛴️⛴️⛴️
Does she have the same captain? He usually loves to blast everybody everywhere
I’m not sure if it’s the same captain. I know that many times most ships don’t blast their horns when they come through the superior entry.
Hi Mike. Fun to see the Superior entry and even funner to see the JRB!
I think it’s peoples favorite ship on the Great Lakes
I love the shots you took in this video. Lots to see. Loved it. I’m so excited to see a video from you.
It’s always a pleasure watching this specific ship arrive from Lake superior
How deep are the waters around Duluth. Canal.......
Great question. How deep / wide / long ship canal:
The canals length is 0.33 miles (0.53 k). The canal is maintained at 245 feet (75 m) wide. Depth: 28 to 32 feet in the entrance; 27 feet deep in the iron-ore route channels, and 20 to 23 feet in the inner channels. Here’s a little more information about dredging the canal. It’s a few years old, but the article still is relevant. www.lre.usace.army.mil/Media/News-Releases/Article/2289075/wisconsin-company-to-dredge-duluth-superior-harbor/ (www.lre.usace.army.mil/Media/News-Releases/Article/2289075/wisconsin-company-to-dredge-duluth-superior-harbor/)
Hey Mike are you gonna do a video on the Jamno and Jessica B when they come into Duluth whether that’ll be tomorrow night or sometime Monday?
Absolutely, that is my plan. I will be doing a video if they come through at normal hours.
@@vibewithmikeSalties always appear huge to me. And I love cranes they often sport.
Afternoon mike from Easton. Awesome video as always. You always take care of all the boat friends. I have said it many times, the JRB sure looks longer than 1004. What a hard-working lady of the lakes. Peace!!
Scott, I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. There’s nothing like catching the JRB and I wanted to show it in a new perspective. It’s a beast of a ship.
Hi Mike just catching up
Another awsome video !
That is the first time I seen a ship come in the other entrance and the land around it
There is a lot of drift wood logs on the beach
You could build a kon tike raft and sail it to the soo !
Looking forward for more
Have a great day !
I was wondering where you were at Mike good to see your back
I’m back with the ships and we are going to have a lot of fun. I promise you that.
Hey Mike! Im doing great, but my back do its best to ruin my day! Im started to prepare my van for a 5000 km. trip to northern part of Norway in july, but you know, Im not young anymore. 😉 Nice ship, by the way.
That’ll be a beautiful time in Norway! I have to get there someday. I just have to get there. What a beautiful location and country.
@user-kk3hz6oc3z you are going to have a great time there
Awesome ship am going to Duluth this summer.
Definitely my favorite ship! 👍🚢🙂
This ship is definitely at the top of most peoples list when it comes to Great Lakes ships
JRB is a great ship! Hope to see her in July.
Stephen! How’s it going man! There’s a look at the boat for you to check out, brother. ruclips.net/video/vQdMUOjEnY0/видео.htmlsi=7uOz_LSvNRZpBgFP

Hi Mike. Great video. Question-- Is this ship the longest that you have shown us? It was so massive, I was just wondering.
Great question, here’s the largest ship on the Great Lakes right here. m.ruclips.net/video/QcCaMPezeFQ/видео.html
Thanks Mike for the info.

Raining and 52° in Bossier City Louisiana
My friend in Louisiana. Anytime our Boat, friends in Louisiana bring up their location. I think of the best gumbo and crawfish. Excellent food in Louisiana. And there’s some ships down there too.
Thank you Mike. It was interesting to see that the gulls went out to meet the JRB. Have watched them follow the ships as they leave.
I’m going to be doing a lot of really cool videos very soon. I can’t wait to show you some of the surprises with the ships.
@@vibewithmike Look forward to it.
@dashasl2582 it’s going to be a fun summer with the ships

I am ready big fella, BRING THE THUNDER!

@chucke4294 thank you very much, it feels like yesterday and then all of a sudden we have all of the people were around the world watching. These ships are absolutely fantastic and I think all of them are loved by all of us.
@chucke4294 super powerful ship
It is the alpha waves that relax us
Possibly could be
It is always exciting and wonderful to see one of these enormous ships come through the channel, and to see beautiful Lake Superior.
@@vibewithmike
The latest that I ever recall seeing falling snow was in early May, but as a child I remember still seeing some residual ice chunks in Lake Erie in early June (though this year was a fairly mild winter, so we won’t be seeing that).
Our daughter’s family just moved further south, and winter there will seem very odd to them. Their winter jackets won’t get much use any more.
@janetryan9779 years ago, I believe we received some snow and very late April or early May as well. I think the temperature will be changing though for us for the better next week in Duluth.
