You know, the best part is that I can't tell if he planned all this or actually improvised it. I mean, he named his settlement the "Field of Screams" and made a banner with a skull and human limbs, then he made a _literal_ field of spike traps and turned the colonists into a tribe of guerilla cannibals. There's definitely _a theme_ going on here, which may or may not have been intentional.

I love this one, it really comes full circle. Accepting Denny’s into your colony to give him a shot at a new life. Defending him and the rest of the colonists from the retribution. And then ultimately giving Denny’s up to them by making him walk the plank, not because his enemies were any real threat to you, but because there were so many of them that it got to be annoying. Also why do they turn naked when they die

One thing I notice about this game is how most of the UI looks like it is ripped from Rimworld

I mean, RimWorld took it's gameplay style and furtther from Dwarf Fortress. Everything has some inspiration...
Its okay the dev of rimworld gave the engine code or the a.i code so all dev can make their own kind of rimworld game. Thats why most of theese game resemblance rimworld structure.

Y’know, I am very surprised you’ve never played RimWorld. The amount of torment and suffering you can inflict upon people in that game seems right up your alley. Especially with the organ harvesting mechanics

I love how every time Josh gives a perfectly thorough explanation of how the game is supposed to be played and every time proceeds to do none of it.
So it's been a while since this vid came out, and it made me uy Going Medieval, and I want to say that it is genuinely one of my most favourite games ever. (And I can't believe Josh's cannibalistic broken settlement made me buy it lol.) It receives constant regular updates and improvement from the devs, who listen to the community and keep pouring a lot of love and attention to the game. It keeps being better and better, and the most amazing thing they added a few months ago is customizable difficulty for like literally anything. You can set how fast the food rots, how fast your settler's moods are going down, how much you get from harvesting plants and mining, and just pretty much everything else. That with them constantly bringing in new mechanics, animals, and other features, it is genuinely just a great game and I can only recommend it. Thank you Josh for showing this masterpiece to me!
Yeah mate, she's a beaut, I had my eye on it for a while, looked interesting but was too basic at the time. I finally pulled the trigger a year or so ago and it became one of my favourites almost immediately, and it's gotten way better since then. Solid developers, they balance their updates between new features, tweaks, optimization, and requests really well.

The mechanics are blatantly "inspired" on rimworld hahahha, even the schedule looks similar... Drafting, storytelling and all... I have the feeling Josh looked for a game similar to rimworld but with better graphic because rimworld's graphics can indeed be less appealing to a video audience. This is literally Rimworld with diffrent graphics and setting.
It's kinda like a breed of Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, what with the Z-levels and all. Certainly takes more after Rimworld though.
@@cwovictor3281 I mean, looking at the jobs menu is pretty shocking. Hell, the order of the jobs is almost exactly the same (Doctor, Hunt, Construct, Grow, Plant cut, Smith, Tailor, Research and Haul).
Talking about that, I think Josh may have a fun time with all the cannibalism, organ harvesting and slavery of Rimworld.
Oh, and the "Drugs". That too.
