Diving

Base Building

Survival

Vehicles
Build and upgrade many types of vehicles including sailboat, jetski and gyrocopters. They will make your exploration much more convenient.
Fighting
Fight mutants and pirates. Raid enemy atolls and steal their resources. Use melee weapons, firearms and explosives. Fight on ocean and land. Operate mounted heavy weapons to destroy enemy boats.
Trading
Trade with friendly atolls for supplies, weapons, armor and rare items. There is no universal currency, only item for item.
Co-op
Cooperate with friends and survive this oceanic apocalypse as a group. Build bases, dive, explore and fight pirates together!

This game is the direct sequel to Hydroneer 😂
Usually with these early access indie games they're horribly broken by the time the Josh is done with them. Yes, the sky bridges look a bit silly, and yes the frame rate is down, but I think this game held up really well. It's hugely impressive that it continued to render the sky spiral even from the other side of the map, especially considering it's still in early access.
and the shadow changing with the time and the sun? on this thing? really looking good for that game!
It's not hard to do that honestly, most games intentionally don't render distant objects to reduce lag, this game just didn't do that.
@@gmhs2 True, but most games become an unplayable mess even when they don't render distant things, by the time Josh has done even a fraction as much building. This one was a bit laggy but was still functional.
@@Gamer3427 Yeah, I definitely noticed heavy use of LODs for distant islands, though I suspect it might be still a bit lacking in low quality LODs for the placed items. I definitely agree that they did well at optimizing the game, hope they get it further optimized because having a game that can render large builds without lagging is always super fun to mess around in.

3:12 would be cool if you could use the top floors of a skyscraper as base and e.g. dive down to find resources in drowned supermarkets and hardware stores.
The drowned remains of a city is a far more interesting environment than generic ocean and generic uninhabited islands.
That transition when you moved the chests from the traders post to your base was smooth as hell.

To be fair to this game, it survived the Joshgeddon a lot better than most.
This video was surprisingly tame for Josh despite how ungodly long getting all that wood must've taken. This seems like the kinda game where Josh will come back after a few months to break it some more.

I love the fact that at certain points Josh can’t even stay serious and starts laughing. Like you can literally see he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Love your vids.
Some days it's just too delightful to realize you can get a truck into a hospital, or imprison an npc in shrubbery.
His livestreams are ridiculous swings between absolute seriousness over absurd things ("We can't get rid of these things tanking the framerate, we've written entire wikis about the car scent hangers and how they're related") and hyena cackling when he figures out he can do something. Like chase an oil tank across the desert on a sled. Very, very slowly.

This game is surprisingly polished in a lot of ways for an early access. Those underwater ruins and the animation of the chopped trees looks great. Seems like this game will actually be pretty good when it's done.

Yeah it reminds me a bit like Rust (legacy) when it first came out. It was ton of fun and very playable for a game a was a basically bunch of generic Unity assets.

My favorite thing is watching Josh disrespect NPCs. Well, really, it's entertaining to watch him disrespect everything in a game.
If I were a game studio, I'd send all my games to him. He's got a natural talent for finding all the janky and broken stuff. 😂
Reminds me of playing _The Forest._ Soon as I figured out how to cheat, I covered over the crater at the center of the map with log platforms. Took forever to finish even with freeform platforms and insta-build. Then, I had to deal with the locals either laying siege to what eventually became my massive, process-eating fortress at inconvenient times or not doing so when I wanted them to.
I’m impressed by how relatively little Josh was able to break this game.

Not sure if it may have been patched already, but there's a way to make off-axis foundation blocks. If you attempt to place a foundation piece while driving a paddle boat, the plane of the foundation rotates with the plane of the boat. By pushing the boat off of a cliff, I was able to create a base with a 60 degree tilt, and the game just lets you walk up it no problem!
