I don’t understand why pressure flips are so hated on. It looks like the board starts to rotate out of nowhere and there is something very stylish/minimalist about that, I like the look of them.
@@Fralorgrafon 😂👍 Well we had these types of skaters at school that required you to wear certain clothes, listen to certain music and so on. For me skateboarding was always about freeing myself from social norms and just having fun and pushing myself beyond my limits.
It’s because pressures aren’t done with the same technique that every other trick has. If you never do them, it’s like skating in a new terrible stance only few people care for.
I remember when Eric Koston was kicked off the Tony Hawk tour for 'not trying' and 'looking effortless' Even tho he was doing insane tricks nobody else was.
Once while riding to the skatepark, I decided to try a 360 pressure flip, and I landed it first try. I thought that was such a success that I just went home for that day. :D
Impossible is probably one of my favorite trick because you remain in contact with it throughout the entire thing. Whereas some tricks look like you just huck it and hope the board flips around the right way and then you land on it, it can look disjointed. The impossible is kind of like that spin around your thumb thing you can do with a pen, and I just really like that aspect.
he redoes a trick if his hand sketches out a little or the clean landing looked like he was even slightly uncomfortable. Pro stuff. High dedication to redo landed tricks...it's cool to see his high standard.
I'm so far removed from my childhood, when I was skating Eric was my Led Zeppelin. He was switch bluntsliding , nollie kicking all the spots and i missed everything you just showed me. He is great and you are as well, fucking killer skate scholar Giger!!
Koston during the menikmati era was the only time I remember during the time I’ve been skating where there was kind of a consensus best skateboarder in the world
I really like the way the pressure flips look. I am going to learn the different variations of these. Also when I was in highschool, 91-95, I thought the Ollie under flip was an Ollie impossible. Thanks for clarifying and I feel a little sheepish… lol Back then we didn’t have internet let alone you tube so we had to rely on magazines and VHS. Yes I am 45 lol. Man you’re attitude is awesome!! Keep skating brotha!!
I had switch pressure hard flips wired, could even do a switch pressure hard flip big spin variation. Been awhile now tho, gonna have to give it a whirl again! Thanks for the inspiration 🛹
I was born March 7 1989 .. I've watched soo many skaters in my life time ... Including my father who was on the cover of skateboard mag in 1975 (Denis shufeldt) . But I have to tell to Jhonny... You are the best skater I've ever seen in my life. You have done everything in the trick book I could never do .. you have done all the tricks I dreamed of doing... I've met Rodney mullen at the skate board hall of Fame in Anaheim.. and witnessing you do his tricks and almost everything/ trick that's ever been cool 😎 .. man just wanna say .. if I met you , I would feel like I met every pro skater except tony hawk / bob burnquist
Btw my fathers character was played by (jack Smith) in the movie "lords of Dogtown" my dad was 1 of the 3 judge's at the skate board contest ., another real life friend.. he's a well known person in the skater community....
Was my favorite trick back in the day and always got ppl in skate with it. You can also press on the opposite corner to reverse the pressure flip idk what that’s called.
When pressure flips and variations of started being done, it was quite the mind breaker. I remember watching VHS videos in slow motion, trying to understand 🧐
I dig pressure flips. When you get good at them you can fake a lot of tricks. Does anyone know if there's a trick tip on pressure backside flip? Is it a pressure flip body varial or are you actually doing a back 180 pressure flip?
You started it with my favorite trick he did on Yeah Right !...thank you.. that brought back so many memories..watched that and Darkstar Battalion when I was deployed to Iraq in 2004
Stair and good tricks to taking the special tricks of control and stability his balance and landing the rail of a difficult trick to accomplish the trick in many random skatespot!
Yo, Jonny. Sick Revive shirt you're wearing brother! EDIT: Anyone else start rubbing their eyes thinking they were tripping balls or having a flashback at 12:53? xD
Me and a friend used to practice lots of different styles of pressure flips every day like 30 years ago. We could do these in the video + the same but backside, nollie, and nollie backside + all of those rolling switch - i dont think ive seen Jonny do a backside pressure flip?
Can I ask why they're called pressure heelflips? I kept watching in slow motion but still couldn't see where the heel came in like a normal Heelflip? Edit: Never mind, I saw it on the follow shot. Back foot heel with toes forward makes the board pop. Did I understand right?
Man.. I am considering getting a skateboard just to try some of these flip-tricks.. I haven't skated for like 13 years, and I'm turning like 34 in the summer.. Guess I'll die :'D
I didn’t “technically” quit skating until after college…I stopped trying as hard. I’m 38 & go out a couple times a month. Start slow & have fun! You’ve got many years ahead to skate!
I went to a skateshop today, and long story short, my lack of knowledge of boards, the input of the dude running the shop and my anxiety made me flee the scene without a board.. lol. I was very unsure about the size of the deck I should get, but I felt most comfortable with like a 7.75 size board cuz I'm like.. 5'8 and I felt like 8.0 or beyond were so wide I thought I'd never be able to flip them. And then the dude was like "yeah broader boards are more popular now, like kids will run 9.0s even." I think I worry too much about judgement. And I didn't wanna potentially "waste" 250 - 280$ on the "wrong" setup.
Pretty please with sugar on top. Please do a Video on Treflip late flip. I know you can do 'em. You did two in your 5 types of Tre flip. Even crossfooted. I wish i could do those. It also would be the Deathblow Trick in every Game of Skate.
Jonny, Jonny, Jonny! My boy, as everyone knows, a fandangle is a half cab to one footed crook. You land on the ledge with just one foot on the board. You did a crooked grind one-footer- WHICH IS ALSO AWESOME! But a fandangle it is not.
11:29 Jonny is using the top of his foot to do the late half kickflip in the cancel heelflip, while the example footage he showed the guy uses the bottom of his foot. Bottom of the foot seems easier and more logical, not sure why jonny does it the other way
I’ve seen Eric Koston on skate jam once and I also had a Girl Skateboards Koston model back in 2003, I liked tha shape on it. It was nice to skate on…but I don’t know much abt tha dude other than that.
Oh it is in the states so you would have to use your own financial income to get here (air fairways) but iam sure we could find a way to reimburse you along the way 👍
pressure inward heel almost looks like a pressure hard. sometimes hard to figure out the difference the tricks. also pressure heel going rocket w barely any air is uuugly lol.
I don’t understand why pressure flips are so hated on. It looks like the board starts to rotate out of nowhere and there is something very stylish/minimalist about that, I like the look of them.

Its because no one can do them, so in the game of skate it would always be AAAA I HATE PRESSURES
I think look good they are just haters
It’s because pressures aren’t done with the same technique that every other trick has. If you never do them, it’s like skating in a new terrible stance only few people care for.
They mostly look like shit. It takes a lot of practice make them look ok. This is why you basically never see them in video parts.
I remember when Eric Koston was kicked off the Tony Hawk tour for 'not trying' and 'looking effortless'
Even tho he was doing insane tricks nobody else was.
Koston is a good example of someone who is so good at something he needs to look for goofy ways to make it more interesting for him
I can't believe Johnny does all these insane tricks and make it look so easy!! So much respect. 😇
I thought the same 😅
Made it look so easy?
Once while riding to the skatepark, I decided to try a 360 pressure flip, and I landed it first try. I thought that was such a success that I just went home for that day. :D
Saw Eric Koston at Tampa this year, and literally thought Johnny would love his trick selection 😂

Casper flips and hospital flips are also foot wrap flip tricks
he redoes a trick if his hand sketches out a little or the clean landing looked like he was even slightly uncomfortable. Pro stuff. High dedication to redo landed tricks...it's cool to see his high standard.
I've always think watching your videos: "what an amazing scenery around skatepark". truly epic.

Always look forward to new content from you! Keep shredding!
I’m sure this comes up all the time but…. Holy cow you have one hell of a view there Jonny!
No freaking joke! I don’t know if I’m more jealous of his talent, or calling Switzerland home.
I had switch pressure hard flips wired, could even do a switch pressure hard flip big spin variation. Been awhile now tho, gonna have to give it a whirl again! Thanks for the inspiration 🛹
Jonny Giger is a future first ballot inductee into the Skate Boarding Hall of Fame 👍
Please relax
Absolutely loved seeing Dario in these
Glad to see Dario join you 👍🏾
all this flats are beautifull executed well, but that nollie FF impo is just gorgeous !!
It's great to see more of Dario !
Best JG video in a while! Really good. I'm not even sure I've ever seen a cpl of these
Dario out there killing it!👏

This man will be the god who shows the next generation what is up 😢
Btw my fathers character was played by (jack Smith) in the movie "lords of Dogtown" my dad was 1 of the 3 judge's at the skate board contest ., another real life friend.. he's a well known person in the skater community....
Dario is such an amazing flatground skater. Sometimes i forget about that
Love pressure flips. Always found switch easier since just need to get my front foot out of the way
Your skatepark is so beautiful, that view is super nice
01:24 the ff catch on Dario's pressure inw heel tho 😩🔥
The only one of these tricks I ever did was the pop late varial. Landed it with double flip too. Used it alot to give letters to others haha.
Pressure flips are nuts dude
Was my favorite trick back in the day and always got ppl in skate with it. You can also press on the opposite corner to reverse the pressure flip idk what that’s called.
In the early 90's that's all we did, pressure flips in as many different ways as possible
As Always,
Thank you for the wonderful video and inspiration inspired by the Legend
❤EK❤
When pressure flips and variations of started being done, it was quite the mind breaker. I remember watching VHS videos in slow motion, trying to understand 🧐

Such an amazing compilation! :)

I know nothing about skating, but that trick at 5:45 looks really awesome
Yo, Jonny. Sick Revive shirt you're wearing brother!
EDIT: Anyone else start rubbing their eyes thinking they were tripping balls or having a flashback at 12:53? xD
Eric Koston is a street legend, I saw him in the magazines back in the early 90's
I really liked this faster pace style :)
Whats it called when you do a kick/heel flip but you use your back foot to flip it?
Have you ever tried a coconut wheelie? With your level of primo slides, you should totally be able to do one, would be nice to see it ;)
More Dario, please! 😁👍
You two are beasts on the board
Having some problems ordering pants online. I chose XL and it keeps referring the size back to XS.
the background guy's reaction at 0:39 was wholesome
That back drop. Jesus! beautiful.
I think this might be an anime where Jonny is preparing for the ultimate game of SKATE to save Switzerland from a monster.
Me and a friend used to practice lots of different styles of pressure flips every day like 30 years ago. We could do these in the video + the same but backside, nollie, and nollie backside + all of those rolling switch - i dont think ive seen Jonny do a backside pressure flip?
used to pull off the body varial versions also + casper pressure flips
What's the deal with pressure stuff? Do you have to not use your front foot or something?
Koston must be proud and kinda bummed at the same time 🤣❤️
Can I ask why they're called pressure heelflips? I kept watching in slow motion but still couldn't see where the heel came in like a normal Heelflip?
Edit: Never mind, I saw it on the follow shot. Back foot heel with toes forward makes the board pop. Did I understand right?
I Was hoping to see some of kostons early grabs, one of my fav edits is kustons early bird he did like years ago
Id love to see the 360 inward heel to primo, I think it really suits the trick.
Probably really hard though lol
Has anyone ever done a manual pressure flip out?
I do a one footed 5-0. I call it a Danfangle.
Where can I get that shirt? I don't see it on shredquarters.
What are the shoes Dario is wearing? Those are sick!
I quit skating when I saw the three sixty flip noseblunt down the handrail 😂 insane
Where is this sick skate park? Lone pine, Ca?
I think we know Johnny’s next primo variation.. 10:29 😂
I can do pressure heelflips with pop. These here seems to be without pop.
You are also a legend sir
Man.. I am considering getting a skateboard just to try some of these flip-tricks.. I haven't skated for like 13 years, and I'm turning like 34 in the summer.. Guess I'll die :'D

Do it. Being 30 really helps with having the maturity to keep trying tricks long enough to get them.
Legit same here, just a year older at 35. Once it warms up a little more, I'm buying a board.
do it mate, i got a new board with indies and all looking for shoes now
I went to a skateshop today, and long story short, my lack of knowledge of boards, the input of the dude running the shop and my anxiety made me flee the scene without a board.. lol. I was very unsure about the size of the deck I should get, but I felt most comfortable with like a 7.75 size board cuz I'm like.. 5'8 and I felt like 8.0 or beyond were so wide I thought I'd never be able to flip them. yeah, learning a bunch of incredible koston tricks in just one day, cuz why not^^ ezpz
btw i actually find the pressure heel body varial quite pretty.
I was a pressure flip guy. No one i knew had that trick in their bag. Always and easy letter in skate.
I'm just here for Dario
Pretty please with sugar on top. Please do a Video on Treflip late flip. I know you can do 'em. You did two in your 5 types of Tre flip. Even crossfooted.
I wish i could do those. It also would be the Deathblow Trick in every Game of Skate.
Giger x Koston, never clicked on a video so fast
How do I become a patron
I did a pressure flip bodyvarial on accident today lol
i learned tricks from tony hawk games, didnt even had youtube at home back in 2003-2007 :D
I thought fandangle was a nollie 180 switch 1 foot crook for some reason lol
Koston needs a statue in LA. I will do what I can to see that it happens 💯
Is that TP twin ?
Best thing for pressure flips is to find a freestyle board with the tail/nose guards on it. lol
Eric kostan = the Hogwarts professor of skateboarding 😊
jeebalooba never relaized dario was this good! viele Liebe
kinda wondering, why are you doing this right next to that low metallic bar who's just perfect for some head traumas if you fall on it?
god damn that is a gorgeous skate spot
Jonny, Jonny, Jonny! My boy, as everyone knows, a fandangle is a half cab to one footed crook. You land on the ledge with just one foot on the board. You did a crooked grind one-footer- WHICH IS ALSO AWESOME! But a fandangle it is not.
The nollie bs underflip would be soooo sick down a set.
11:29 Jonny is using the top of his foot to do the late half kickflip in the cancel heelflip, while the example footage he showed the guy uses the bottom of his foot. Bottom of the foot seems easier and more logical, not sure why jonny does it the other way
oh but then when he did it fakie he used the bottom of his foot now lol
How does he spell his name? Cause my name is also Derian.
Gotta try front side pressure heelflip
Where is this skatepark????
Where is this park at?
Dario got 'pressured' into doing the tricks.
I’ve actually seen him skate irl.. different man seriously
Very nice sound design , do more reggae like stuff.
Fandangle is nollie 180 switch crook one foot
I’ve seen Eric Koston on skate jam once and I also had a Girl Skateboards Koston model back in 2003, I liked tha shape on it. It was nice to skate on…but I don’t know much abt tha dude other than that.
Mike Modid the first pressure heel against Nyjah for the win in BATB
Isn't that first one just a regular Pressure Flip?
If you would like to come to the "skate board hall of Fame" iam sure I could get you in as at least a guest if not a VIP
Hit me up 👍🛹
Oh it is in the states so you would have to use your own financial income to get here (air fairways) but iam sure we could find a way to reimburse you along the way 👍
you should try landing a real 360 inward heelflip, i think it would make a great video
pressure inward heel almost looks like a pressure hard. sometimes hard to figure out the difference the tricks. also pressure heel going rocket w barely any air is uuugly lol.
my guy johnnyyy❤
you are the master.
Need Geiger pants in chocolate goddammit!
