Vander isn’t comparable to Seth lol. Vander is actually pre-promote that you should stop using early on. Seth is a demon that can solo his entire game.

After years of playing Fire Emblem, one of the things that I think I've gotten a lot better at recently is prioritizing turn order. These are all rules of thumb, and there will be plenty of times to break all of them. But in general:
Have units in the rear of your army move early. There are probably only a couple of actions they can take, and finishing off an enemy near your army with somebody in the front may take away the ability for the ally in the rear to do anything useful.
Make your risky moves early. Miss a 70% accuracy attack early on, and the rest of your team can probably adjust to that failure. You can also flip that, and fish for a lucky crit with a killer weapon, which may open a possibility that would otherwise be unavailable.
Move your characters that can do multiple useful things late. One unit may be able to kill an enemy, heal an ally, or set up a barrier. As the turn progresses, it will become more clear which option is most helpful.
Identify your "get out of jail free card" units and move them last. Healers, obstruct staff users, units with powerful engage attacks, and units with very long range attacks can all be good at getting you out of a tight spot. Lyn's Astra Storm I found particularly helpful to finish off units that unexpectedly dodged an important attack somewhere on the map.

    • @EeveeFlipnoteStudios
      @EeveeFlipnoteStudios 8 месяцев назад

I do some of these subconsciously (units with simpler/less varied options move first, rear units move first), but seeing it laid out like this will make me think about turn order with more intent. You made a really good point about the chance-based options such as risky moves and crits!

Jagen's are kind of Noob traps IF you are foolish enough to not know how to use them to your advantage (Like in FPS when you discover the mine traps that hurt you can also be tripped by the enemy and hurt them!)
The Jagen's are a "Babysitting Service" where you use them for baiting and wounding enemies for your "little baby first tier units to grow by finishing them off" or to finish off an enemy that you won't be able to finish off (like for example, next turn, a unit is going to kill one of your guys, and the Jagen gets to move. Having them block the enemies path won't work, so you just give up on the XP and just have them finish them off! That's for the OFFENSIVE Jagen's like FE6 Marcus)
Oifey are also the same, but you have to remember NOT to overly rely on them early game and treat them like the Jagen early on! But they have a better chance of being viable even after the babies catch up! (Seth and Titania ESPECIALLY) Vander was build largely around being an ACTUAL Jagan in that your to use him till he starts falling off and only keep him if your ready to invest HEAVILY on him (I really feel he should have been the Royal Knight and not Mauvier! Or at least keep Mauvier in the class! His backstory of him being a Cleric made him fit the role pretty well then Paladin! But I guess Mauvier would lose uniqueness...even though I make FRAMME a Royal Knight because "it fits making the two Steward apprentices Horse Riding Knights of some kind!) Honestly if I'm not using him, then he's made a great knight and is a placeholder till I get Veyle in CH22, then he hits the bench! (Maybe sooner once I get a large number of those I'm devoting a run to, and Veyle will squeeze in when she joins!
Frankly XP Noob Traps only effect fools easily impressed by "jiggling keys" which they end up being for those types! Engage's Mid game prepremotes are there if you were a fool to fall for the trap and your babies weren't grown right! Lapis didn't turn out right! "Here's a Kagetsu" (Surprise her speed is low for ya, Lapis pretty much has the best speed growth! She is a character who you're going to have to devote time with the forge to really get her potential if you keep her in her destined class of Swordmaster! While Kagetsu has better bases especially for Maddening because he's blessed to be a mid-tier they expected you to fuck up and have a dead/injured Lapis and Diamant!), Yunaka isn't performing at her best "Here's a Zelkov", Citrinne and Clanne aren't doing it for you "here's a Pandreo", Not getting anywhere with Boucheron or don't like how he grew! "Here have Panette!" Frankly if you ask me, Mid-game units like them should have had Great Bases, but middling growths, not completely dog shit ones, but not so high as they are in base as they practically assure they STAY good and so you now have a benching problem!
I'm just shooting the breeze as I tend to play how I like, meaning as a Lapis lover, I will field her, even if she gets RNG screwed and Kagetsu is better this run! (Thanks to Second Seal though, if I want to use Swordmaster and Kagetsu, I can just move Lapis to a class that I can use her elsewhere like Wyvern Knight or Halberdier! I'm still using her, she's just not my S Rank Sword wielder this run)

Don't donate past level 2, or if donating isn't necessary to adopt dogs, don't donate to a country at all, in maddening, skirmishs almost never spawn, so you will nead the money to get resourses tu upgrade weapons on the flea market, i went trough all of maddening, and only 3 skirmishes spawned.

for the bond ring the Quality and the character you obtain are fixed After every fight
like if you pull 10 rings and you obtain in order 9 c level rings and 1 s rings, you can reset and do the same with another embelm: you Will be obtain the same Quality ring and the moat importante thing Is that the rings are not random. So if i obtain S Lissa from Corrin emblem, and in the list of the charactera of that emblem Lissa from top top bottom Is like the 9th, you can reroll on another emblem so you Will obtain the S rank of the 9th character on the list.
This Is usefull bc some character at S give some skill. So if i Found an S ring on, for example, Lyn and It s a ring without skill i can check on other emblem if the same ring on the same order position have One.
I use this methimod to reroll for Wind God on a S ring Claude and others too

In early game, I used Vander like the other Jagens. Chip enemies, tank hits, and eliminate some problematic enemies that see a kill. I gave him my first second seal, and now he is like other promoted units. Exp gain is normal (for a promoted unit), gets a class skill, and still does what I used him for. The only reason I benched him is because I raised my Louis into a monster that can do his job better and needed room on A team for the dancer. Other than that, he was useful to me for about 2/3 of the game. May he lead B team well.

I heard so many pitfalls talking about Vander, but the last point was the most useful which is to use Vander to weaken enemies, but not kill them. I wouldn't recommend unequipping him as it will slow down the gameplay.

That's the advice for all Jagan's in general! The Oifey's like Seth and Titania are meant for clearing up and ony to be used seriously once the "Babies" can stand on their own and the enemy are starting to be actual threats for them! I mean even characterwise Vander is pretty much an aged Fredrick but FAR WORSER bases as he still was viable enough that people started the "Fredrick Emblem" joke when he ended up being a HARD CARRY for Lunatic runs! While Vandar really was ready for retirement

Make 1 ring per character from the start so everyone can get sp. Then use the rest of the bond fragments to max the bonds of each characters ring. Dont waste points buying tons of crappy rings. And add ring affects to your weapons. Dont waste metals upgrading early weapons wait tell the shop has better ones then buy those via gold then max start smithing them to max. You dont need a silver weapon near the beginning of the game it will just make your units to slow and overall weaker in general. At most crafting a good bow and or tome early game

I never played awakening but if they released on switch I would, compared to 3h maddening, some chapters are legitimately difficult/similar.
The game punishes bad positioning and no units have canto anymore so the challenge is certainly something new. I had just completed back to back skip only maddening runs (Skip instead of battle/explore/seminar) on Blue Lions AND Silver Snow and those were similar in difficulty to this current blind playthrough. Now I have almost perfect information of 3 houses maps and zero information on Engage maps, I also have over 700 hours in 3 houses maddening by this point, so arguably 3 houses might be slightly harder blind but very similar.
The game has almost no obviously dumb broken mechanics to make fights super easy, in some cases you can and I'm sure some gimmicks will be discovered but basic positioning is EXTREMELY important and AI will find weird ways to drop your units.
