The year is 2050. ICG has just released the fifth version of FE Engage Compendium of Unit Viability. Anna and Timerra are the only inhabitants of the S+++ tier. Merrin has fallen to D tier after the Clanne/Ike strategy was discovered. Chloe no longer is even ranked because she was banned by the international SRPG balance task force founded by FED and Choops, now consisting of 300 members. Vander and Bunet remain God Tier
This might be a hot take, but I'd place Boucheron in S tier or at the very least A, simply by virtue of him being a unit that doesn't really care about having high Str. Let me explain: Boucheron as a Warrior has three sources of what is essentially "Pure" damage. For those that aren't familiar with the term, Pure damage is damage that isn't mitigated by an enemy's defensive stats. Every unit can gain access to minimum 3 Pure damage by standing next to Alear, while Veyle gives 1, though she joins much later in the game. If you are running Alear/Lucina, this pretty much guarantees that they'll perform a Chain Attack (if you want to guarantee it, have them hold a ranged weapon), triggering Moved to Tears, which adds another 2 Pure damage, meaning that every attack Boucheron performs will be 5 damage minimum if they all connect. Boucheron also naturally classes into Warrior, which can give Merciless, boosting his damage output by 50% against Broken foes. This affects his guaranteed damage as well, meaning that even if he's naturally hitting for 0 damage, he'll do minimum 7 damage on every attack, thanks to those buffs. Factor this in with his large Speed and Build growths, and he's a prime candidate for the Brave Axe and with his 50% Dex growth, he'll have a hard time missing. He won't suffer weight penalties from it and will reliably strike 4 times on enemy units. So with just basic Alear buff, that's a guaranteed 12 damage, regardless of enemy Def. With Moved to Tears, that scales to 20. Add Merciless (perhaps with a Fracture Staff from Alear themselves) and that's 28 damage. And he will ALWAYS deal that damage if all of his attacks hit. That's not even factoring in natural damage from his Str vs enemy Def. Chloe can do similar strats thanks to Fairy Tale Folk, but she's much better as a flier (so probably not classed as Warrior) and requires two units of opposing genders to be adjacent to her. She also has significantly less Build than Boucheron, meaning Brave weapons will weigh her down, This is a very low commitment build as well. You literally don't have to do anything to build him this way, just get him Bow proficiency from Leif. All this and he still provides Longbow Backup from simply being a Warrior.
Hey bro you are literally an encyclopedia for FE engage I just got the game because I got a switch 2 months ago and had a massive eshop sale. You helped me so much understanding the game. I love how flexible units are and can’t wait to have multiple runs of Engage in my life. Can’t wait to 7.0 tier list
Another thing Celine has over Citrinne is that she has perfect accuracy on everything including offensive staves thanks to Divine Pulse+ and best luck stat in the game. She can change into High Priestess and use entrap in the hide and seek griss chapter, and have access to fists that have low weight/plays off her mixed stats very well.
“People think she’s hot so they overvalue her.” I mean yeah that’s Fire Emblem, right? I don’t give a hot damn if Lapis is the worst character in the game; I’m classing her into Sage for the drip and dumping SP and stat items into her, using up all my Time Crystal charges to make sure nothing bad ever happens to my waifu. I was gonna try a Marianne solo run in Three Houses. With enough coddling, anything is possible
At around 30:50, you're talking about Chloé's versatility. That she's so versatile suggests her underlying, multidimensional strength, meaning she's stronger than Hortensia. It seems to me that accordingly, she's the best unit in the game.
Being A tier at a lot of things and low S in many =/= best unit in the game. Hortensia has two of the most valuable passives for general play, 1 lets her get increased staff range on all heals, restore, warp, rewarp, the other gives her a 20-35% chance to conserve gold/staff uses on a flying class and she can use fortify which Chloe cannot on a fast class. Hort can uniquely reset her Celica build in a single fortify use while Chloe cannot do this, so the uptime of her Seraphim use is near 100%, especially if you dance her after fortifying. She can function as a bonded shield damage unit just by using her and her passive slots are largely optional instead of needing a lot of early training/specific passives to run. Early Chloe can carry but it costs resources/investment and ultimately is a little worse than Pandreo on MK/Griffin, or Anna on these things. Pandreo is more free to run and is better for less effort.
@@IcedCoffeeGaming I really think you’re overrating hortensia here, probably due to your insanely difficult master run (like seriously idk how you even do it). While her staff utility is good no matter what run you do, her combat is not. She IS fast and she does have high Dex, but her magic is absolute shit. Like it’s Boucheron strength levels of bad. In a run where no one can damage fix, no one can speed fix, etc,… she’s very good due to everything her personal class offers and her innate high speed. What I think we need to take into account though is that when other units who are less fast or have hit issues (like Ivy) can get these fixed, and then they just outclass her (in combat, not utility). Chloé mage knight with levin sword will outclass hortensia’s damage. Also, I’ve never, ever seen her be able to one round with an non-forged tome. I always promote her immediately but unless she is actively being fed kills, she doesn’t one round. Unless you give her magic stat boosters, she doesn’t one round. Now we’re just looking at two sides of a coin: do you prefer a unit with bad speed but high damage, or a unit with high speed but low damage? Imo, speed is much easier to fix without stat boosters. If you want to use Ivy, give her speed+ and speedtaker, any emblem you want and she’s good. Like really good. On the other hand, you NEED celica for hortensia to one round, but at that point (chapter 21, after celica is back) Ivy will also one round, probably more consistently, with celica. When you were talking about hortensia I found it weird how much you focussed on “when she gets celica” “when you use seraphim” and such. Yes that’s a great build, but that’s just celica. Most units can do that with celica. Yes, she can reset celica with fortify (that is if you have 6 units ready to be healed at all times), but other units can one round without seraphim… and imo that’s better. Mind you I’m not arguing about how good she is when there is no resources to give, I’m in no doubt she’s the best unit in the game in your challenge, but here… second place? I highly doubt it.
I remember in my 6th play through I believe, I ran thief Ike Alfred just for the hell of it. He starts very slow in my opinion and the only thing he has is his offensive growths. His bulk is there with Ike and honestly, he performed just allright. My main problem with Alfred is his base stats and that he takes time to go online. Not to say everything is bad about Alfred or that you shouldn’t use him, but other units can perform better. I still use him in any play through cause I find him charming. Sincerely, the Alfred enjoyer
I did a very high avoid general goldmary build and loved it so much on my maddening run. Axes and magic had a hard time hitting her and countered with the silver great lance. Very dumb but i loved it
I find Etie works a lot better as a Thief, she keeps the Covert unit status, gets access to a much better weapon, helps fix her bulk and Speed and her high Strength allows her to hit bulkier units to apply poison.
This list is really good. I think the DLC characters are higher than where you placed them but I understand it's just placing those specific ones in the general tier.
I like to give Yunaka a +4 Steel Dagger for higher crit and to reduce it's weight to match her build so she does contribute early to mid game. I can understand if she falls off late game though.
Great list, altough I'm very surprised to see Alcryst in B. I get that perhaps he lacks some "clutch factor", but he's extremely solid and reliable, I usually give him Lyn and 1 rounds a lot of enemies up to the final chapter never falling off in utility. Being an archer he may seemingly look like he doesn't have all that enemy phase potential, but there's always good plays you can do with a covert there. Also, having a super reliable offensive unit is always strong in this game where endgame enemies tend to have really high stats
I bought in to your Anna and Timera arguments and you're really clearly right. Anna was a top tier contributor, probably the MAIN defining killer of my whole maddening run with not really that much investment or ramp up. Once she's online (fast) she's both so good AND earns money that I had to start being intentional about not using her to kill everything. I was really excited about flashing fist framme and thought she was a very cool and stylish unit (good unit feel) but there are a lot of downsides that make this build so much clearly worse than other builds it should ideally share a tier with (top)
I doubt dlc would change much in terms of unit rankings. None of the emblems make only certain units better. Starsphere makes some units better, but putting starsphere on already good units just makes them overpowered af. DLC just makes everyone better. The only thing I can imagine is better is alear. Alear can go into enchanter and use Lucina. Why? Because enchanter is a chi-adept class with acces to knives. The two best uses of Lucina (100% bonded shield AND poison chain attacks) on top of alear having A support with everyone is insane.
Starsphere especially affects early recruits and units with an even statline. And Enchanter with Food Surge also especially affects characters that fit the Vantage/Reprisal/Wrath buildline. Not sure if it's enough for any unit to actually change their ranking though. And beyond that and what you already mentioned, I think everyone gets better by more or less the same amount.
Tip for anyone using Boucheron to fix strength issues. Just promote him into Berserker, forge Noatan like once. Its that simple. 😊Bouche consistently gets kills and his speed growths are good enough to where he can quad reliably in brave axe and destroy everything, he can even one round sombron by himself, that's how good his damage is.
The main appeal of bouch is his absurd build so realistically you are giving him the fattest great weapon you got since pretty much the entire cast except him gets doubled when using a great weapon but he doesn’t. The extra might from forged great weapons usually out does the damage from doubling normally as well.
I actually like running Boucheron as a speed general. The extra might of axes lets him basically hit as harder than Chloe on the build and his max speed is just 1 lower than her.
From your perspective as a, frankly, expert at this game, Chloe probably is better than Kagero. Maximising her closes the gap if not extends her I agree . But for a less experienced player Kagero is always going to be stronger. I don’t even mean a bad player. Someone using her well, but not maximising her, or prioritising certain abilities or builds. Kagero out the box is just a cut above even her for the majority of players
if you have the DLC, you can have Jean use Tiki so he gets a +15% growth bonus from Starsphere (or inherit Starsphere so someone else can use Tiki). this works really well with his personal skill that doubles his class growths. so really, Jean can be anything you want him to be. I tend to use him as a support just to keep the game interesting because once you level him up a few times, his stats are just ridiculous and he can easily carry you through most of the game if you use him in a more offensive manner.
I haven't had too much success with Marin unfortunately. My Alear on wolf knight in maddening out performed her every single time. Maybe should try thief Marin like you mentioned here since my next playthrough I wanna do a meme support build with allear as martial master
"so we're not gonna rank the DLC characters" good I was gonna use them regardless lf what you had to say :3] Anyway thanks for the in-depth explanation. I'm in the middle of a hard playthrough and form some reason I stopped having fun at around ch.14 (I think the skirmishes being some of the toughest stuff ever while the story units are pushovers is kinda throwing me off?) so Ive been debating doing a Maddening run to see if I stop having that problem. But I'm also not a tactical mastermind so who knows what'll happen with that
I am gonna come in hot with Jade SLANDER. She's C. She trades defense for a little bit of resistance which does not help her at all and she still gets one-rounded by any mages that matter. Meanwhile the increase in incoming physical damage combined with her bad luck stat means she will be way more vulnerable to physical crits than Louis. In addition she trades strength for magic but doesn't have much in ways to leverage that (Hurricane axe memes?) Finally she has bad dex and bad luck and she is on axes by default so her accuracy is abysmal. I'd put her between Etie and Alfred. Yes this is very important.
You hit on it a bit, but IMO Alcryst is S OP everytime. He gets the Lynn ring everytime, the multi attack gets him really good procs from his Unique class, plus the crazy range and the Dragon effective bow he can one round those big dragons. He is very undervalued because people hate his character, meanwhile thirst trap Ivy gets overvalued because shes so hot. You cant change my mind, but please try.
Ok I am three months late but I would like to say citrine is my favorite but also so stress inducing like she nukes absolutely everything with a thoron tome but if I mess up once boom dead boom dead boom boom boom dead dead dead dead
I think you underestimate Rosado. His drawbacks is that he joins a little bit underleved on his map, with bad weapons. But so does Timerra (but timerra can immediatly level up with master seal. For Rosado it will be a little longer to see the results.) So do we really need to use it? not really But if we use him, he has a lot of advantages. He joins Chapter 16, with Eirika, so he can level up his bond with a very good emblem. That s also one chapter before getting back Leif and Sigurd, so he doesn't have to wait very long to get lance power or all of leif profficiency if he wants to reclass. (And he can already benefit from axe power) He joins as a Wyvern, on a map with a lot of terrain effect, and level 3, so 2 level from getting air raid. But all of that doesn't matter if he doesn't have good stats. I compared him with Chloe with Veyle Bot, same level, same class (Wyvern Knight for physical and Mage Knight fom magical) (The commands if you want to check : e Rosado 3/13 Wyvern Knight -fixed, chloe 10/20 wyvern knight -fixed / e Rosado 3/13 Mage Knight -fixed, chloe 10/20 Mage knight -fixed) At level internal level 30, for Wyvern, he has more hp, more str, same speed and dex, better bulk and same bld. Chloe has just more luck and magic. For Mage Knight, he also has better hp, str, def. same dex ,speed and build. Chloe here gas +3 magic, +6 luck and 1 more resistance In physical he's just better Chloe, and magical he is dealing less damage, but tanks a little bit more. He deserves a least his place in S tier for me. Not at the top, i still think Chloe is better overall, but he is better than all of the characters in A for sure.
I think phys Chloe is more of an A tier role for her tbh, her best/most optimal thing is: Chicken with a Levin (Cooking with lightning) early Sword Power 2-3 Horse w/Hat with a Levin and early Sword Power 2-3 On Phys, if you level Rosado on Wyvern he has similar stats to Chloe, my big issue with late joiners in Engage is that by the time they join you often have a full team. If Rosado joined earlier I would think he is a potential S tier unit, but you get him after getting most of the best units in the game for several mainline chapters/paralogues. Stats-wise you are correct in your assessment of his performance on phys Wyvern, and if you run him on Axe power with a light axe like killer axe or Noatun, he could easily 1 round/off tank well. The real thing he is lacking is he needs trained and joins at level 17 around a time in the game where most of your units will be level 25+ so he has to catch up to the hard carries. Middlegame deploy slots tend to be 9-10 so there is a lot of competition for deploy slots. Generally before you get Rosado these things can or will be completed: Lucina paralogue, Lyn Paralogue, Ike Paralogue, Byleth Paralogue, possibly a skirmish, possibly Corrin Paralogue. Completing these tends to leave you with level 20-25 units so Goldmary/Rosado/Saphir/Lindon have to catch up to your team as they join, statistically they have potential, but leveling them is not free and costs a deploy slot/slows you down directly.
@@IcedCoffeeGaming but does that makes him fall of two entire tiers ? even worse than Goldmary, Saphir and Mauvier and the bottom 4 unit of the game ? A few of paralogues you have listed can be kept to trained him. Yes you have to plan on using him. I know it's important that a unit doesn't take a huge lot of ressources to be viable. But there is nothing that say that you can't plan ahead to use a unit. With this logic, all characters than join after him are also bad. The fact that he joins late makes him bad, not because of the actual game, but because nobody cared to use him. I was one of them before, then i tested him on different build and he was good. Magic is better than physical, i think we agree on that, so a better physical chloe will always be worse than the actual chloe, but not that worse.
@@deklou-l471 Those stats for Rosado at IL 30 don't match where he actually should be. At join time, Rosado gains exp as if he's a unit who has leveled up 19 times in total. In other words, he gains the same exp as if you took Alear from 1->20. Alternatively, he gains the same exp as if you took Alear from 1->10, promoted, and then 1->11. Or to match Rosado's case, if you took Alear from 1->18, promoted, and then leveled 1->3. (I have always hated how internal level is described by players and wish the game just showed total level on units as [1 + number of times leveled up], but I digress). From reading the Veyle Bot channel, it seems doing 'e rosado 3/13 wyvern knight -fixed' will give Rosado 12 level ups (the bot is treating the 3/13 to mean reclassed at 3, leveled to 13). That means he's leveled up 19 + 12 = 31 times total. You should be looking at a 10/20/4 Chloe to compare to the same level Rosado. (This is for Wyvern Knight) In which case... Chloe has -2 HP, -1 Str, +2 Mag, +2 Dex, +2 Spd, -1 Def, +7 Lck, with the same Res and Bld. For the rest of the game, Chloe is usually -1 HP and at most -4 Str. I do think Rosado is better than most give him credit for when treated as a growths/project unit, but he joins so late and you're not given free deploy slots like you are for Veyle and Mauvier.
@@End3r. So internal level is completly useless when evaluating a unit ? Or can we start from IL to deduce his true level ? Also does that means Chloe starts at level 6 but gains xp as a level 1 unit ?
@@deklou-l471 No, it's not useless. The data mined 'internal level' that everyone is referring to is the number of level ups for a unit not displayed in their current level. It's not actually their 'real level'. Internal level is a confusing name for it. Chloe is recruited with 'internal level 0' but level 6 => true level is 6. Kagetsu is recruited with 'internal level 15' but level 1 Swordmaster => true level is 16. Rosado is recruited with 'internal level 17' but level 3 Wyvern => true level is 20. Where 'true level' here means they gain exp as if they were that level.
I think Chloe beats out Pandreo and Hortensia due to her much greater availability, which I think should definitely be taken into account when ranking units. Chloe gets to be a carry for far longer than either of those units.
Chloe leveled up to Pandero's level ends up with either 1 magic less, same speed (griffon) or same magic, 1 speed lower (mage knight) with 3 build lower than him and Chloe would be 11 levels away from a build level up. But thats just same level up, Chloe would be snowballed ahead of Pandero's level and have sword power 2 or 3 (depending if you shared the love with sp books). I think Chloe properly snowballed is your best unit.
@@StirFryTuna You also have Chloe for the entire early game while Pandreo does not join until it is over, and availability matters! Chloe is basically your only S tier carry in the early game, while Pandreo joins when other S tier carries also exist in your army. As such, Chloe's availability basically gives her a monopoly on being an early game god, and no other early game unit can sweep the early game on Sigurd as well as she does. I have tried it on people like Bouch and they can't come close.
Have you considered a challenge run where characters aren't allowed to inherit the same skills? Or a use every skill run? IDK if that's viable considering the # of skills there are vs deployment slots but maybe if you throw in DLC it could be fun.
Curious how you get some many levels on your framme - you said by the time you get Jean she's level 5-6 and for me she's just bearly level 2 and I just got jean. For context Im on my first maddening run of engage - I beat 3 houses maddening all routes but no other FE's really. Maybe it's just my play style - tanks/ dodge tanks up front and backline poke (archer/mage). But have bearly healed with her since 1 range heal/chaingaurd puts her in danger so I just use vulnary on the off chance Louis etc takes damage ahah.
Chain guards are amazing and I think you could utilize them more. It’s free 5 EXP and allows for stuff like Louis tanking enemy mages with pure water + javelin. Framme can snowball really well cause of her really good growths. She has bad bases but that’s honestly patched up very easily. Already I have a Framme with 10 Atk/Mag before Chapter 10 and she’s doing pretty decent damage against Mages and Archers with a Steel Art. And if you really need levels just slap a Micaiah on her or position Alear to where she can get the +3 damage.
Ya I think it's worth trying out chain guard more/ engaging more with different game mechanics. I think my last play through on hard and so fsr this one haven't even used a pure water. ( so far push range unit and Chloé to kill/bait mages before bringing in Louis) I may be a bit late to try using it this time around because I just got to brodia and she's still level 2. I guess time will tell if my playstle can get me through the tougher missions.
I've been checking these so called tier list, guides, "best practices", and none of them are the same. I give up I'll just go with whatever I want for my "first run maddening" and if it's too hard i'll just switch back to hard... I've spent more time wondering what to do to NOT mess my run instead of actually playing this damn game
None of them are the same meaning across different youtubers or across my own tier lists? I have 2k hours in maddening in this game, so likely the other lists are mid af :)
It's because of two things: 1) She joins with only 5 BLD and heavy lances. She feels AWFUL on her join chapter unless you immediately give her a lighter weapon, in which case she immediately pops off (forged steel lance or fensalir works well). Since first impressions matter, most people just bench her and call her bad. This problem is later rectified as she has very good BLD growth. 2) She isn't super insane unless you go very specific builds that capitalize off her strengths. If you build her wrong, she isn't that great. The VAST majority of tier lists are based off of limited-to-zero research and a single playthrough. I've watched a lot of tierlists where they said they just benched her immediately and that she was bad. In other words, they didn't give her a proper chance.
You definitely need to have a high IQ to use Timerra correctly. I wish more people watched your stuff, they'd learn the Engage meta very quickly if they did but instead we have a slew of bad tier lists from the first 2 months of the games release when people were still treating this game like traditional Fire Emblem and not the unit builder it actually is.
Thanks for the answer. Although I agree that her base speed is really good, I find her base magic and the limitation in tome ranks a little too iffy for a dps That said i've never tried Celica on her so maybe echo is actually the missing piece I lacked
> Fogado > He's just like a pretty good flier shooter down guy on a horse That makes it top of A tier? Being a pretty ok flier shooter down guy on a horse? meh.
I despise how disproportional the beads are and her voice gets on my nerves so I see no reason to try an make her good regardless of viability( jokes aside she might be good but I will never test it because no matter what I do I always end up running the same 5 units)
I'm currently replaying three houses as I do not like engage anymore. I wish there was a new game plus mode where you got to recruit who you wanted at the start. Like I don't really want to babysit louis for half the game until the units I want to use come along.
I've just noticed now while I'm watching this that Engage royals based on Fates royals. Alfred is a weaker Xander. Same hair color too. Celine is a weaker Sakura but with sword instead Diamant is a much much weaker Ryoma. Again with the hair color, same color family. Alcryst is a weaker Takumi. Both archers. Ivy is a weaker Camilla. Now everybody can see the inspiration here. Hortensia is a flying Elise. Timerra is a non-mounted Hinoka. But both uses lance. Fogado is much livelier Leo but with bows instead of tome.
Hortensia is garbage, only cause you have to change the games language to Japanese so she doesn't annoy the shit out of you with her minnie mouse whining.
TBH honest you could consider him A because he can player phase kill and tank a hit. I think Fogado is a little better due to him being "Horsed up" and "fast boi"
Names several horribly detrimental aspects about Ivy, needs massive stat fixing that no one else in S tier needs, still ranked S tier. At best she is B tier.
The year is 2050. ICG has just released the fifth version of FE Engage Compendium of Unit Viability. Anna and Timerra are the only inhabitants of the S+++ tier. I have watched every single FEE tier list you've made in their entirety even though they are pretty similar every time. Can't wait for 7.0
Thanks m8 :)
The only thing keeping Hortensia in check as unit is her having B Tomes and not even that can fully contain her at all.
She also has significantly less Build than Boucheron, meaning Brave weapons will weigh her down,
This is a very low commitment build as well. You literally don't have to do anything to build him this way, just get him Bow proficiency from Leif.
All this and he still provides Longbow Backup from simply being a Warrior.
Dang. Hust started a new play through. Time to build bouch.

I agree with you chief. Her availability and versatility and combat performance makes her best in game to me too
Being A tier at a lot of things and low S in many =/= best unit in the game.

Chloe got 100% hp growth cause she would be the healthiest relationship you were ever with
Unless you've got food.allergies I guess
I remember in my 6th play through I believe, I ran thief Ike Alfred just for the hell of it. He starts very slow in my opinion and the only thing he has is his offensive growths. His bulk is there with Ike and honestly, he performed just allright. My main problem with Alfred is his base stats and that he takes time to go online.
Not to say everything is bad about Alfred or that you shouldn’t use him, but other units can perform better. I still use him in any play through cause I find him charming.
Sincerely, the Alfred enjoyer
Anna has inproved from three houses
Bunet does all the amazing cooking. Surely that puts him up a tear LOL
Always love these tierlists thank you missed your FE content!
I did a very high avoid general goldmary build and loved it so much on my maddening run. Axes and magic had a hard time hitting her and countered with the silver great lance. Very dumb but i loved it
Nice 2.5 Anna Gold Counter, very informative
Now the real question is, is it there on accident, or on porpoise? 🐬
You should do an "Only bond rings run" . Some bond rings have nice effects.
Celine in her vidame class levin sword with Sigurd was an absolute beast on my team for maddening with the right skills
I find Etie works a lot better as a Thief, she keeps the Covert unit status, gets access to a much better weapon, helps fix her bulk and Speed and her high Strength allows her to hit bulkier units to apply poison.
I don’t agree with everything, but this is easily the most fair tier list that has ever been put together for engage.
Anna is so underrated by this community I swear. I was doing a run without her in my team and I was literally begging for gold end game 😭
@StirFryTuna how good is it in maddening for u?
I'll die on the hill that rosado + lief + lunar brace + break defences is the best use of the unit and the ring
Bunet needs to have his own dedicated tier: The God Tier

Let Him Cook tier
I’ve played 500 hours and just started a new playthrough. Need a tier list to make the most op squad 😂
Speed is good apparently
You should make a tier list for divorced and homeless run. Curious to see what changes there
I havent played engage since the fell dlc story came out, and i havent even played that, but im glad to see my absolute mvp Chloé stays winning
if you have the DLC, you can have Jean use Tiki so he gets a +15% growth bonus from Starsphere (or inherit Starsphere so someone else can use Tiki). this works really well with his personal skill that doubles his class growths. so really, Jean can be anything you want him to be.
"so we're not gonna rank the DLC characters" good I was gonna use them regardless lf what you had to say :3]
Anyway thanks for the in-depth explanation.
Tall blonde and gorgeous
And funny@@Willie_Pete_Was_Here
You hit on it a bit, but IMO Alcryst is S OP everytime.
It's bouchin' time!
Classic ICG spending 90% of the time talking 'about' Kagetsu essentially being "he's cool, but Chloé exists, and here's what she can do" 😆
Love your tier lists! Just wondering would you ever make a Celica User Tier List?
may beh
I think you underestimate Rosado.
His drawbacks is that he joins a little bit underleved on his map, with bad weapons. But so does Timerra (but timerra can immediatly level up with master seal. For Rosado it will be a little longer to see the results.)
So do we really need to use it? not really
But if we use him, he has a lot of advantages. He joins Chapter 16, with Eirika, so he can level up his bond with a very good emblem. That s also one chapter before getting back Leif and Sigurd, so he doesn't have to wait very long to get lance power or all of leif profficiency if he wants to reclass. (And he can already benefit from axe power)
He joins as a Wyvern, on a map with a lot of terrain effect, and level 3, so 2 level from getting air raid.
But all of that doesn't matter if he doesn't have good stats.
I compared him with Chloe with Veyle Bot, same level, same class (Wyvern Knight for physical and Mage Knight fom magical)
(The commands if you want to check : e Rosado 3/13 Wyvern Knight -fixed, chloe 10/20 wyvern knight -fixed / e Rosado 3/13 Mage Knight -fixed, chloe 10/20 Mage knight -fixed)
At level internal level 30, for Wyvern, he has more hp, more str, same speed and dex, better bulk and same bld. Chloe has just more luck and magic.
For Mage Knight, he also has better hp, str, def. same dex ,speed and build. Chloe here gas +3 magic, +6 luck and 1 more resistance
In physical he's just better Chloe, and magical he is dealing less damage, but tanks a little bit more.
He deserves a least his place in S tier for me. Not at the top, i still think Chloe is better overall, but he is better than all of the characters in A for sure.
I think phys Chloe is more of an A tier role for her tbh, her best/most optimal thing is:
Chicken with a Levin (Cooking with lightning) early Sword Power 2-3
Horse w/Hat with a Levin and early Sword Power 2-3
On Phys, if you level Rosado on Wyvern he has similar stats to Chloe, my big issue with late joiners in Engage is that by the time they join you often have a full team.
Generally before you get Rosado these things can or will be completed:
Lucina paralogue, Lyn Paralogue, Ike Paralogue, Byleth Paralogue, possibly a skirmish, possibly Corrin Paralogue.
(This is for Wyvern Knight)
In which case...
Where 'true level' here means they gain exp as if they were that level.

i cant believe anna made you 2.5k gold in this tier list!
I can't take it down, I leave it on videos now because I can't stop!
"See? I told you Anna makes you very little gold in a playthrough!"

I don’t even own fire emblem engage but you seem entertaining ;P
Omg is that the devine dragon????

Can you make a timeline for each character or put the characters in the chapter order so we can navigate through this long video easier?
What about etie wyvern Lyn 😭
My Warrior Etie is a goddess
( so far push range unit and Chloé to kill/bait mages before bringing in Louis)
I may be a bit late to try using it this time around because I just got to brodia and she's still level 2. I guess time will tell if my playstle can get me through the tougher missions.
Waifu tier list when?
Is it a coincidence that the Elusian nobles are both S+? 🤔
Timerra is a tier of her own it’s triple S S S
Porqué Framme y Merrin en S?
Como le saco Provecho a Diamant debido a que es una unidad frágil?
Con que le des wrath y la habilidad qué lo deja a 1 de vida debe estar bien
Como le doy?
It's weird how I see Timera consistently in d teir on other people's tier lists.
Other people are wrong
cause she’s timidrra, obviously
It's because of two things:
1) She joins with only 5 BLD and heavy lances.
And I’m glad I did use her
You definitely need to have a high IQ to use Timerra correctly. I wish more people watched your stuff, they'd learn the Engage meta very quickly if they did but instead we have a slew of bad tier lists from the first 2 months of the games release when people were still treating this game like traditional Fire Emblem and not the unit builder it actually is.
When you talk about Hortensia's offense, are you still considering in her default class?
Yes
Thanks for the answer. Although I agree that her base speed is really good, I find her base magic and the limitation in tome ranks a little too iffy for a dps
That said i've never tried Celica on her so maybe echo is actually the missing piece I lacked
> Fogado
> He's just like a pretty good flier shooter down guy on a horse
That makes it top of A tier? Being a pretty ok flier shooter down guy on a horse? meh.
He is fast, can double, can attack with physical or magical well, can radiant bow, can levin sword, can be a hard carry if you want it

I don't think Timerra is that good tbh.
Prove she isn't.
I despise how disproportional the beads are and her voice gets on my nerves so I see no reason to try an make her good regardless of viability( jokes aside she might be good but I will never test it because no matter what I do I always end up running the same 5 units)
DLC story and units aren’t worth it, but the bracelets are great
I for one over value Goldmary, she can bring it home bb

framme in S 🎉🎉🎉
too many S tiers. Need to raise the requirement for S tier
Many units break the game easily
I'm currently replaying three houses as I do not like engage anymore. I wish there was a new game plus mode where you got to recruit who you wanted at the start. Like I don't really want to babysit louis for half the game until the units I want to use come along.
At the very least I wish they could just keep passives that they accumulated over playthroughs.
Alfred only good as hero bot 😢
I've just noticed now while I'm watching this that Engage royals based on Fates royals.
Alfred is a weaker Xander. Same hair color too.
Celine is a weaker Sakura but with sword instead
Diamant is a much much weaker Ryoma.
I miss when you had bad as a ranking c just feels meh
You can fix units so nothing can really be that bad thanks to engage rings/forges etc
Hortensia is garbage, only cause you have to change the games language to Japanese so she doesn't annoy the shit out of you with her minnie mouse whining.
Jade
Chicken
Etie more attractive than alcryst
Clearly you don't get the appeal of sad sopping wet cats
alcryst in B tier ? not even A for alcryst ? smh unsubscribing
TBH honest you could consider him A because he can player phase kill and tank a hit. I think Fogado is a little better due to him being "Horsed up" and "fast boi"
Celine is always F tier in my eyes, instant sacrifice fodder for the absolute insult that her outfit is.
Names several horribly detrimental aspects about Ivy, needs massive stat fixing that no one else in S tier needs, still ranked S tier. At best she is B tier.
She is still strong enough to hard carry with some resources and has really strong builds that can do well. She also uniquely has flying tomes
She's the best unit in the game
