They're rated with ~41K lbs of break strength. Don't think they'll break that easily. They're heavy and have a good quality feel to them when you hold them. One side had one bolt (I believe passenger side) and the other one had two (if I'm not mistaking).
I'm glad i watched your video or knowing me i would have removed the engine first 😳 To be honest if you go off road every weekend and play in the mud and are pulling stuck vehicles a lot I would not remove you factory hook up front ...but if your a casual like me that will most likely never use the front of your truck to pull someone out of a ditch these are fine ,,,,,,,Lets be honest sometimes we do stuff to our vehicles for the cool factor and not for necessity
That was back when I first got the truck well over two years ago. Truck does go off-roading but I don’t abuse it because I still need it to drive after off-roading. 😁 Also I keep my vehicles clean (or at least I try to). There’s lot can be said about the person by looking at his ride. 🤙
I have noticed some folks have installed these WITHOUT removing the factory hook ,,, possibly they just reversed put the driver side bracket on the passenger side and passenger side on driver side

Those shackles are universal. I’m sure you should be able to install them on your 2015 Tacoma. However, I’m not so sure about the brackets though. In the description it specifically mentions 3rd generation Tacoma 2016+.

Hi. Those letters actually came already pre-installed on my TRD skid plate. Nonetheless, I do believe they’re also sold separately. But unfortunately I do not know what’s the part number for that set, sorry.
I believe they do. I see no reason why they shouldn't. Overall frame and body design of these trucks are the same across all trims. The only complication that you may face would probably going to be your plastic air dam piece under your front bumper. And that's just my guess. Otherwise, that may not even be the case. Not only they make the truck look better but also can be useful in some unpredicted situations. Money well spent in my opinion. 😄
Understand that these are not designed or rated for recovery. They are fine for light towing operations and to stabilize the truck for tie down during transport. Using these to execute a snatch recovery is rolling the dice and very unsafe. I’m going to be installing these on my TRD Sport 4X2 in the near future primarily for the looks.
I’ll be honest with you, I’m not 100% sure. However, every website and reviews I went to said they’re rated for towing and recovery but don’t say up to what weight. I mean they’re pretty solidly built from the looks and feel. I’m quite sure they’re at very least of the same built quality as the OEM hooks if not stronger. Hope this helps. Thank you!
@@scooty5403 I see. Well if it helps I was able to use my shackles to pull a palm tree stump out which wasn’t too big not so small either. It held up pretty good. That’s as much pulling I’ve done so far with those shackles and brackets.

Hi. Thank you! At the time truck was riding on its original suspension and tires were 265/70R17. However, later I upgraded my suspension setup on the truck (went with ARB OME 3” lift kit) and tires (285/70R17 33” A/T). Since mine is a long bed Tacoma I felt like it needed a lift as its rear was sagging after putting the camper shell on. Also now truck rides much more planted and feels more stable than it was with its OEM suspension. Which felt more like wobbly and bouncy ride. Thanks for watching!!
Very good question. To be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure. However, I've seen quite a few Tacomas with these brackets and so far I haven't heard from anyone saying that it damaged their frames. According to the item description they've been thoroughly tested prior manufacturing. Nevertheless, just like anything in life there's always a risk with everything. I did use mine to pull out a tree stump not too long ago and there was no harm done in that instance. Granted it wasn't a big stump. 😊
once you install those demon brackets go pull someone out of a ditch...then right after that you can replace the cross member that supports your radiator because you just tore the entire cross member off your nice taco...it will only be a couple of thousand bucks replacing that bracket...Thats what you get when you use pretend recovery points that were meant for show and nothing else
I totally understand where you’re coming from. And I do agree they’re mainly for show than function. I’m currently saving for a steel bumper. I’m planning to go with SSO hybrid bumper with winch. Hopefully that’ll help to resolve that concern. 😊
@SOBI's Hobbies good call..I put some apex overland recovery points on my 4 runner they bolt directly to the main frame....but I doubt I would put a bunch of trust in them either. A bumper is the way to go
@@andywiggens1069 of course. And trust me it’s not happening for me overnight either. 😊 Times are tough for everyone these days. Just trying to take it slow and work my way. Stay safe brother!

To each their own of course. Yes, I do NOT off-road as heavily as some but in my experience when I used them in 1 or 2 instances they held up as they should. I haven’t had any issues.
Thank you for watching. I think they look quite well on these trucks. I'm very pleased with the outcome. I say go for it. 😁 Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
