  • Here we are stripping away all the old sealer from these hexagon saltillo tile floors in this spanish style kitchen. The old sealer must be fully removed from the tiles AND the grout to ensure we get a proper bond with the sealer. otherwise we risk future peeling, cracking and tile deterioration due to improper restoration and stripping, not the sealer.

California Tile Restoration so did they get dirty because a sealant was applied while the floor was dirty ? Or it just happens overtime anyway?

It just happens overtime, when the floor is cleaned before sealing, a lot of times people don’t deep clean the floor so they seal in dirt. Best to clean it by hand before resealing and strip the terracotta tiles if the dirt is too deeply embedded
