Look what you would have missed if you had just gone home after missing the sunrise, loved the shot at 6:56 but Helen stole the show. Fantastic opportunity came from nothing 👏👏👏
The lighthouse painter pic was indescribably beautiful and actually brought a tear to my eye ! And i was in awe of the 5dsr detail, such a joy to watch
That photo with Helen is truly wonderful it has all the elements of composition, sky and of course an exceptional foreground. I can see you are happy with it and that speaks volumes .
Jeez Gary, you’re killing me! You’ve got me looking for cloud textures, minimalist images, strong leading lines and now I’ve got to look for a painter painting the scene I’m photographing. Stunning work and thanks for the inspiration. And yes, that is the best foreground ever
Wow what an absolutely awesome vlog. One of the best. Should be put firward for an academy award. If i had a hat on i would take it off for you my friend.👏👏👏
As well as being so pleased with your image, I bet that Helen was delighted to feature as the 'guest star' in your video Gary! Cracking work mate and as watchable as ever 👍
I LOVED that last image. I wonder if it is focus stacked. The sharpness from front to back is fantastic. I love lighthouses and if this image was mine I would proudly hang it on my wall.
That picture is unique Gary. Talk about right place right time. And the clouds eh. Occurred to me to look out for painters (never came across one in all my years!) as they probably look for the best spot as they'll be there for hours as opposed to minutes! Great first shot in B/W too! Another great video👍
Gary every one of those pictures are wonderful and the best ones with Helen in the them and you chose the perfect sound track i think these are the best you've done so far wow.
The photo with the painter at the end brought tears of joy to my old eyes and tugged at my heart. My mother, may she rest in peace, loved painting, she was born in Wales and loved lighthouses. Thank you sir!
Interesting to hear you say you were sticking to the tractor tracks in the barley field. If you so much as entered a farmer's field in Devon, where I live, they would more than likely try to prosecute you for trespass. That's why I love the Scottish Right to Roam so much!!!
I’ll just agree with what everyone else has stated, bloody amazing images, I’m sure Helen would have been blown away with that image of her. Thanks very much Gary
A challenge Aneka location, if you are old enough to remember? I once worked for the paint manufacturer that supplied the paint at that time, been painted since! All great images, and a great and instructional video as usual, roll on next Sunday!😂
Great location and shots, I was there last Tuesday, but Helen was nowhere to be seen. I love the way that her picture included the painted lighthouse, and you didn't bump into her when all she had done was a pencil outline sketch! BTW. Note for all long exposure fans. The zig zag groynes at Caister have disappeared beneath a metre of sand and can no longer be photographed
First time watching one of your videos. Love the photography shown. A place near me which I have photographed but not as good as you. Had a little look at your blog and gear used and happy to see someone who hasn't fallen for the camera company sales pitch and gone over to mirrorless.
Gary that picture with Helen is just magnificent. One of the best settings I've ever seen. I hope she can send you a picture of her painting of it, and please do show us too. Just goes to show that the key to photography is just being there!
Awesome luck with the timing. Had you just come for sunset / sunrise you would've missed her. Goes to show that you never know what you run into so even less than optimal conditions are worth exploring.
Great stuff, especially the shot of Helen. I love Happisburgh. I took several shots, including one from inside the pillbox through one of the windows (bit smelly in there). Sadly there was no crop in the field at the time and I had a wife and 3 dogs with me, so no tripods etc.
How great was that morning? Love the image just to (your) left of the lighthouse with the white daisies and then with Helen in the foreground. B&W and coloured as well.Brilliant shoot.
Wow, that image of Helen painting the lighthouse is a very special moment. What a great landscape shot and story in one frame. Love it. 👌👏

Image with the painter, once again mind blown, fantastic.
