The planets don't always align for us, this is a taste of the hard work that goes into trying to get the best out of the situation. Glamourous it aint, but you always make it engaging, thanks Gary.
Hello Gary, all your expertise and persistence came to the fore and in my humble opinion all the photographs were excellent. Thanks for sharing and stay safe 😷.
Great video and imagery as usual, Gary. The waves made things pretty touch and go there for a bit. It just goes to show despite our best efforts, mother nature is still in control.
If Carlsberg did landscape photography trips that would be it !! You may not have had the light and had to battle wet everything but you got incredible conditions throughout for you reward for perseverance & nailed the shots time after time after time. ! Throughly enjoyed this ! Great format too
I've used 3 old CDs in the past under the tripod legs to stop the legs sinking into the sand. Cheap and doesn't take up any room in the kit bag. Great video as usual - seeing you make great images out of seemingly nothing. Keep up the great videos - always look forward to them 👍
I see how you helped poor gareth tremendously there, by standing some distance away straight in front of him so that you became the 1st line of defense who successfully blocked the raging waves and slowed them down to mere gentle trickles as they eventually hit him, giving him just about enough reprieve to gather himself and his stuff, wow, he really should thank you! 👏😂
Only you could make a few planks of wood in the sea look that dynamic! Gutted you went Porthcawl without me! 😅😂 great to see you helping Gareth out, I felt bad laughing. Also good to see you getting soaked 😂 OMG! Your bag and camera ffs Gary, last location, mighty fine compositions! GG CLASS!
Fantastic! Thanks Gary, great video! Well, Only 5 days ago I got caught in a rain similar to this one aboard a catamaran photographing the *Beagle Channel* in Patagonia! I'm lucky enough to also use a 5D IV and L lens. Undersea equipment... got some good shots... but the front element was often wet... had to dry it often...Luana and I love your videos! Best from South Brazil.
Great images again Gary, especially given the circumstances. Water running through the wreck my favourite of the bunch. Yes we do have changeable weather around here, but it helps keep the grass green 🤣😂🤣
What can i say Gary, absolutely brilliant. You and Gareth were certainly very lucky when you were caught out with the rough wave. I hope Gareth's gear was okay. Absolutely stunning image's as usual from the master.
I've said it before Gary and no doubt I'll say it again, your enthusiasm knows no bounds. Fair play to you for getting out and about in those conditions to get the shot, brilliant stuff as always 👍
Hey mate.. Thanks for the content, I think the concept of the mini road trip really works and although I really enjoy the tutorial element of your videos I look forward to similar videos if you are looking to do more of them..
Four fabulous locations Gary, and what a truly dedicated landscape photographer to stick to it in those conditions, but certainly worth it for the great images.
GREAT VIDEO and Boy don't I know the feeling of the conditions you where in AND the even more crazy thing is, it doesn't show in the photo and when you show the photo and explain to people that is was "the most horrible conditions with poring rain and wind" they go "Huh!" - Don't WE just LOVE landscape photography 😍
Love it! And yes, the ground is not flat everywhere you go. I used to hate posting on social media groups because you inevitably got the "critic" who was always chiming in with, "Straighten your horizon!". Doh, do you not think I used the level in my camera? Go somewhere else, lol. There was a picture I remember where a photographer had taken a shot of a village nestled in a little valley with mountains either side. If you looked at the buildings you could clearly see everything was perfectly upright. I think he or she had four or five people chime in about the "horizon". LOL
Amazing, great to see you in my corner of the world. The place where you were stood at Porthcawl caught me a cropper a few winters ago wave up to my waist in January 😄 great video stunning locations an some excellent images in such poor conditions.
Looked like quite the adventure mate. Those waves at the lighthouse looked amazing. Tough conditions all round and you still manage stay so positive. Great stuff 😊😊
Thanks to you, my wife and I have a new saying when there is a wind storm… Blowing a hooley! Love that saying and love the work you do. I’ve been in similar crappy conditions and just got crappy photos. Not sure how you do it, but if I ever find myself in Scotland, I’m definitely taking a course.
If anyone could polish a turd it's Gary....in other words some superb shots from dire conditions. "It's blowing a hooley" must be one of Gary's most used phrases lol. Superb entertainment value as well as photographic. As someone once said, "Dedication is what you need".. Great stuff Gary, thanks!
Really fantastic video! The first location was really something and you captured it so wonderfully! They are some challenging conditions for sure so fair play to you for braving it!
Gary... at 9:50 did you forget that your rain jacket has a hoodie? 😃 Remind me if I ever come over there and ask to spend the day out shooting with you, that you are the crappy rainy weather magnet... 🤣
Another entertaining and fabulous video. My BIG question is: when your tripod is swamped with sand and seawater, HOW do you thoroughly clean it? I clean mine religiously after any wet use, but it is still 'crunching'. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you, Gary and his followers
Just a word of caution about the Apple Air Tags. They’re not GPS trackers, they’re Bluetooth relays that only work if there are other Apple devices nearby (within 10/15 metres). Perfect for tracking if you have left it in a pub or restaurant where there are other people around. No good if you are stuck up a mountain with nobody else nearby. In that case, all it will tell you is when you were last near to someone (such as in the car park, if you’re lucky).
The tag is in my bag which is never more than a couple of metres away from my phone. That’s the brilliance. My wife tracks me everywhere. I think that’s a good thing 😁😁
Love your videos but on this my heart was in my mouth. Not sure all these location points and where you were standing was safe. Take care. At least with the drone photography if you do go a--e over t-t then it will be captured for us all to see.
Very impressive. But, as I have lived along the ocean for a great deal of my long life, apparently you are not aware of the occasional hidden dangers of the power of the unpredictable ocean. Too many people have been killed wanting to be close to the ocean action. There can occasionally be huge rogue waves that roll in, washing people out and killing them on the rocks. I am not impressed by the risk taken. 😐
I dont know if your brave or stupid, but you really do take some big big risks, some i may say i hope others DONT copy and try... But that said you pull off unique photos and that i comment.. Maybe being a giant as you are the risks are not quite a great and most people... !
The planets don't always align for us, this is a taste of the hard work that goes into trying to get the best out of the situation. Glamourous it aint, but you always make it engaging, thanks Gary.
Thank you 👍👍
some cracking stormy sea shots there, I particularly liked the last black and white of the light beacon on the wall with the wave.
Cheers Philip 👍👍
Just......WOW! This video was certainly worth waiting for!
Thanks Linda 👍👍
I like the images from Nash Point best, thanks Gary (and Gareth)
Cheers 👍👍

It's breathtaking, sometimes really scary. But your photos are fantastic, I love the one with shipwreck and the other with stones and sphinx. Magic!
Cheers 👍👍
Great video and imagery as usual, Gary. The waves made things pretty touch and go there for a bit. It just goes to show despite our best efforts, mother nature is still in control.
Absolutely. Cheers Randy 👍👍

Those images of the waves rushing over the wreck! WOW!! Absolutely spectacular, the whole video. Thank you.

Great honesty, many a youtuber would have binned al these bouts of bad luck or misfortunes. Many thanks Gary, Wales owes you one.

Brilliant video & images. As for the weather, all in a days work you might say, but dam frustrating. Thank you.
Thanks as always Nicky 👍👍

That's being seriously dedicated to your craft, and great pictures considering all the elements.
I admire you for taking on those conditions. I'm sure I would not have left the car. Beautiful images as always - nothing deters you.

Oh mate you went to three cracking locations, but the weather was crap. It was great meeting up with you though. You got some great images though.
Always good to meet up Dave. Cheers Pal 👍👍

Hi Lizzie, I rarely clean mine but I had to after that trip. I stripped it down in the bath and soaked it in WD40

It's not a rogue wave, in Britain its said that every 7th wave is bigger ..not entirely true but it does happen
We definitely know it happens 😁😁
Can you tell us what your settings are
Next time 👍👍
Those shots of the waves breaking over the wall are epic , and the waves breaking over the wreck were great too.
