No, misappropriation is only something that happens in rare circumstances like if your culture is actively suppressing another culture and then creates a caricature of it and then uses that caricature to blind other people of the cultural suppression that’s going on.
Taking part of a culture to show active support for that culture while they are going through a war is not misappropriation. If you wear a Ukrainian flag and a vishivanka you aren’t appropriating Ukrainian culture for instance.

I know I shouldn't be shocked, but goodness the lack of education of Americans in what exactly is going on is really depressing. Students are EDUCATED on a foreign government's hold on American society and they are protesting the billions invested in that foreign government that pays for their free healthcare, free education, subsidized housing, military operations, and eventually with the blood of US soldiers. And you guys think you're on the right side of history? Have you learned nothing from the Vietnam war? Iraq war? Decades later they are honored as heroes. Shame. We never seem to learn from history, do we?

@@heraclesreborn Thanks for the info. But I know what's going on, for the most part. This conflict has been going on for a very long time, probably one of the longest lasting conflicts in history. With world news and the internet it's not hard to be informed these days. But sometimes people are just misinformed. My comment was to point out that most of the people protesting don't even know the real issues. Protesting can be good, but it should always be used for the right reasons.

Americans have a right to protest, and in this case the massive death from US bombs is abhorrent. They simply must remain peaceful and abide by campus rules. The tuition and doners run the school. Cash counts, which is why the protesters want their money disinvested from Israel.
