Oh gosh Drew, had to do the same on underhood struts but had watched several video's and saw how those little clips work work

You should be able to remove the clip from old strut, so you wouldn't need to buy another one.

I did give that a shot but I wasn't able to get the clip back into the hole. Maybe I'm too weak 😂. At least it isn't that expensive

Hey Drew how are you going? Also try use a rubber mallet when hitting plastic to metal to be more forgiving on the plastic pieces, as it is more forgiving on the plastic than a claw hammer.

@@DrewZ4 Or just get a piece of scrap wood and place it between the plastic and the hammer, let the wood absorb the impact.
