Black wheels look sooo much better I’m getting my 19” refurbished to black chrome and I’m also looking to get the roof wraps to black gloss I like the tire it suits it Looking forward to see what you do next 👍🏾
Great video Drew, enjoyed your expressing your thought processes. Not a fan of Blk wheels on E86, but looks good on white car. I'd go back to black center caps, the red and blue seem garish
I used to have 17" winter tires (4x225/45 Kleber) on the Z4C and moved to 18" summer tires (4x225/40 Goodyear Asymmetric 5) and then moved to two sets of summer 19" (KUMHO PS91 (235/35 and 265/30) and a set of Michelin PS4S (4x235/35)). In my experience the ride comfort was the WORST with the 17", then 19" KUMHO, then 19" Michelin and the most comfortable was the 18" Goodyear. The steering is by far the best with the PS4S. If you take into consideration how the car looks - 19" is a no brainer. (hint - E9X OEM Styling 230 alloys are the perfect match for E85/6). PS: I love the two different colors on the center caps. Would keep it as they are on the video.
Nice upgrades! I'm running black 18" Enkei Raijin with spacers on my silver coupe and I'm thinking I'll powder coat them silver or gunmetal. That said, black is definitely the move on a white car, can't beat the stormtrooper look. I personally like running the stock BMW center caps on my wheels, but to each their own. Now that I'm running spacers and 3* of camber my tires have been kicking up a lot of rocks and I've been thinking I need to add flaps. From what I've seen, flaps need to be screwed into the arch liner using self tapping screws. I recently installed Bilstein PSS9 coilovers, replaced the front control arm bushings, and added an H&R front sway bar. These mods have changed it from an okay handling car to an amazing handling car. I can keep up with any car in the canyons now. I would definitely recommend at least swapping out the dampers since you have 90k miles. It will make the car much more comfortable and it's easy to do if you have a ratchet and sockets, you just need to rent a spring compressor for free at O'Reilly. You don't need to replace the springs unless they are snapped which is rare for a CA car.
Nice Nice. When I decide to tone it down I'll most likely get the BMW caps. I know screws would definitely help hold it in but I wanted undamaging reversible options which I guess worked out so. I was always curious about the PSS9s. How do you like those and do you have a si or M?
@@DrewZ4 I have an si coupe, same as yours but manual. No one is going to be inspecting your arch liners for holes haha. The PSS9s are amazing. More supple than stock and the adjustable damping is nice to have. I swapped out my stock suspension at 66k miles. It wasn't completely dead but was getting tired. I imagine your dampers are completely dead if they have never been replaced. Honestly, if you don't plan on actively seeking canyons or track time I would just replace the dampers, it will only cost $400 for parts. If you want to reduce body roll, adding sway bars will do so without making the ride less comfortable.
@@DrewZ4 me too, but it seems we're in the minority. everyone said i should have gone with a gold/bronze type of color, but i figured that's more in line with a subaru.

looks so much better with the changes! I personally like the blue, with just the yokohama filled in :)

Thanks for the insight. It might take me a few more years to get and try a new set 😂

Thanks for the input. I do like my occasional canyon...🤔
exciting (: i still wish i had this car
Also just get the BMW floating caps. Would look very nice.
I do like those! I'll get those after I decide to tone it down lol
Needs some spacers and lowered now
Not sure I should go lower. A few times I have hit my body after speed bumps 😬. Maybe I need to go even slower 😅
@@DrewZ4 just get some bump stops. Low and slow 👍
I went with those same wheels in 18" for my '07, to put snow tires on.
edit:and they're black on a black car, because idgaf.
I think black works easiest on black
