Todd thank you for posting the date. It gives people who are working during the week a reference to plan their trip for the weekend. Great video. Thank you!
My best catch and cook was a summer evening at Elmer’s island, we were in the surf catching specks and throwing them on the beach with a buddy cleaning them right then and we had a Cajun cooker hot and ready. We truly are blessed to have such a privilege to be able to enjoy whenever we choose here in our beautiful marshes. We should NEVER take this for granted.

Nice to know the Trassles are heating up!!Went across Lake to head to client meeting on West Bank last Th and saw a hand full of boaters ouit there!!Thanks for the head's up!!
Glad to see someone catching right now! It was catfish (the good ones) heaven for a few months then nothing. Waiting for warm waters! Thanks for all the info!
18:46 there’s only two ways to make that better Todd take my word on the first one you got a try it do everything the same and use a little Italian dressing. I prefer the Olive Garden brand it taste awesome. The second thing I say could make it better, obviously is if I was there.😂 great video, you have a good week.
@@MarshManMasson I will when I get home from work. I have 1week left in Angola Africa. I have some halibut from our Alaska trip hat I plan on making tacos with. Keep the videos coming. It’s what help me stay sane while I’m away.
One of your best dude...keep those ccc's coming! As a firefighter...just a suggestion, get the cooker off of the grass😊 love your videos buddy...from mobile al.
Tried the tchefuncte this past Sunday for some sacalait using your techniques and it was a rough 6 hours 😂😂 no sacalait but a few nice bluegill. It rained Friday but the water was still pretty clean, we talked to most people out there and nobody could find them. Any idea what makes the tchefuncte sacalait not bite when conditions seem good.
I’m not Tod but he could have launched at “The Point” at the end of Lakefront Drive aka Rat’s nest Road, next to “Blue Crab Restaurant” or a small launch on Hwy. 11 in Irish Bayou on the New Orleans end of Hwy. 11 bridge. As far as suggestions, I believe it depends on conditions. (My 2 cents)
We need to make a huge effort to replant cypress trees and other native plants and trees around the lake . Very old maps of the area have the Slidell are to Lacombe marked as the high banks . Nothing high about them now .
You never float fish with a rubber band? If there's heavy current your selling yourself short. Find the average depth near that bridge your fishing. Get a large line thru cork . Put the cork on first then 1/2 Oz. Egg sinker tied off to a swivel then a short leader to hook. Adjust that rubber band where your shrimp will float just a foot or so off the bottom
9:33 i’m more worried about you the future of the fishery, considering air products running those underground pipes and storing carbon dioxide in Lake Maurepas when they have a leak a spill or an irruption it’s going to kill a lot of marine life that’s dependent on that oxygen that will no longer be present. I’m no scientist, but my common sense tells me that’s going to be an issue for sure for our children if not for us.
Dude, are you gypping Mrs Mason out of eating a great meal?😂😂😂 Maybe you should drag her out, kicking and screaming, to enjoy your cooking on the water.. Just messing with you!! Have a great day..
And there is no good reason the trout numbers aren't higher, just look at all money that goes into recreational fishing licenses/ permission slips ! Not to mention all the drugs found in our fish anymore just research it !
The only thing i found was florida fish have traces of meds from waste water treatment plants. Nothing from louisiana came up however i wouldnt say out fish are drug free
That’s because people were keeping too many fish at a small size, the increase in length minimum will help but it was waaay too much pressure put on the trout.

You have a beautiful boat. Thoroughly enjoyed your RUclips video ❤❤ God Bless you
Luv the catch n cook videos!!
Got me Salivating !! 😅
I started making that coleslaw when I seen it last time you made it. The family and I love it. I make a lot more fish and shrimp taco’s now.
Try it with the pickles and onions, and let me know what you think.

Ty for the info bro, nice trout & flounder
I just caught a couple flounder on the causeway! They definitely feel like trout at first!
Never disappointed to see my trout is actually a flounder.
How do you like the okuma reel
i’d like to see how you tie your rig on
Do you always use a mono leader on your braid?

“Pickles and onions add a nice balance to the heat of chipotle sauce” lol
What is the bait you were using. I really liked the color of it. Size also.
Limbo slice-colored Matrix Shad
Taco on the bayou. Couldn’t be fresher.
Killing me with all these videos before I can get my days off to go fish lol only a week left and I’ll be in grand isle for 4 days “working”😂

The Tchefuncte is where fishing dreams go to die. That place is legendarily tough. I'd never fish it if I didn't live close to it.
On that 5lber trophy, what approximate length ?
Depends on the fish, but I'd say on average 25 inches.
Were did you launch your boat and what advice would you give someone who has never been their before . I’m coming from Des Allemands. Thanks Mr. Todd

@@charliematt4808 thank you
Yeah, lots of great options. In addition to those mentioned, you could also launch at Bayou Liberty, Lake Catherine or the Rigolets.
What reel are you using and what rod is that?
Okuma Hakai and Tournament Concept

Do you ever fish a drop shot rig at this location?
I know people who do, but I don't. If you're going to fish live bait, that's definitely the most effective way to present it.

Man it's almost like you were fishing on two different days. Precook was foggy and overcast and then after looks like bluebird.
Yeah, the fog broke and it turned into a beautiful day. Some tide movement would have made it perfect.
Love the dumb and dumber quote lol.
Next time season the fish once you put it in the pan. That will save you from dirtying your tote.
i didnt see you toast that tortilla in the skillet. straight to jail!
Im hungry for pan seared fish.
Thanks for showing us that coleslaw, i am going to try it!
Really enjoy your videos but we don't need any more marsh fires...

She's promised she's going to come with me this summer. She HATES cold weather -- basically anything under 90.
