Ben Gravy is in town, and jonesing for a surf somewhere. I told him there MIGHT be a little novelty right out at The Point in Buxton, so we hopped in my truck to go check it out. Little did I know The Point had grown 200+ yards since I'd last seen it, and there was a reeling perfect right-hander coming off of it! Then in the afternoon it started barreling most of the way down the sand. 1ft waves have NEVER been so FUN! It's funny cause so many times in my life i'd have blown off a setup like this at home, dubbing it "too small", and thanks to Ben I've been given a new perspective on wave size and can now have an absolute BLAST in small surf. Don't let ideas of wave size get in the way of a good time...

THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE MOST DIFFICULT 1ft WAVE I'VE EVER SURFED! I only had 2 fins in my longboard in the afternoon, and the wave breaks so close to the sand you had to ride a fine line between dry-docking on the shells, or being too far out and missing the wave. NEVER thought 1ft surf could be so EPIC!
Please tell me what children in Hatteras Island are in need of,or perhaps want of is my question,you know what would be outstanding,be brave and dont suit yourself,your video,your clicks and revenue and donate to perhaps a worthwhile charity in a developing nation.Hey,just lie to the locals,theres no moral dilemna,give it to Syrians,theyre nice.

@@brettbarley Hi, i watch your videos,i surfed in Sth Australia in 89,90,91 but the waves close to Adelaide are terrible,i was saying that there are people in total poverty compared to Nth America,Australia and so on.Actually,i have little sympathy especially for poverty in Australia,charities create there own agendas,I believe in Australia theres a poverty level for children that factors if they are attending the cinemas once or twice a year or something.Basically,if you cant get by on benefits in Australia you are being reckless, using alot of drugs,mainly meth here in OZ,you are Buying FAST FOOD everymeal,alcohol,cigarettes or making really stupid decisions with credit lines or pawn broking loans.I know children cannot make decisions their parents should be making and people are scarred by abuse and have mental illness but its ridiculous still.Being unemployed in Australia a person recieves about 440 USA dollars a fortnight,that would be more money then a slum dweller,plastic recycler in India would get in a year.

Ben is a huge inspiration when it comes to having fun surfing... So many days i blow off cause "it's small", and I now want to go look for little shore break novelties to surf and enjoy some time in the water!

What a pleasant surprise.. wasn't expecting one today! Im a conductor for the rr on call 24/7 crazy hours so I know the look of exhaustion lol! I appreciate the effort you put into sharing your experiences with us.. It gives me motivation to keep grinding and soon obx will be home! Seeing a professional surfer having fun with friends on knee high waves is awesome! Your a solid dude keep the vids coming!
I appreciate you noticing the effort... that means a lot. It does get tiring when all the filming/surfing/travel goes back to back to back, but I love it and not every week is exhausting, so gotta push through to enjoy the weeks that are more laid back.

it really would... it's unfortunate how much it changes, but also constantly a mystery. but in this case... the swell we had following this day kinda wiped out half the sand point :(

For how tiny that wave was it was pretty awesome
no kidding! most days i'd have blown it off saying "ah it's too small" but thanks to Ben i had an epic time. I'll never look at knee high surf the same.

curtflirt I’m well aware. Problems of a power zoom lens shooting outside in the wind all the time. Thing is I’ll shoot everything and won’t review footage till the episodes worth of content is done. So I won’t catch it till it’s too late.... so sometimes I’ll have an episode with a dirty sensor from one day of shooting :/
If you guys can surf those waves , you can ride the Gulf when it's good ....um.. every couple weeks
