You've saved me money twice now! I think they wanted to charge $90 years ago when it was recommended that I change my cabin air filter. I found your video online and saved a ton of money. Thank you!
wow. I can't believe how easy this was. Thanks for the video. I can't believe I was paying Honda $100 for this! Don't be afraid to pull down on your glove box. I had trouble at first because I was afraid of breaking it, but it's similiar to a pill bottle. You have to really push in on the sides and pull down at the same time to get it to release.
Thanks for video..im an older lady who doesnt make a lot of dinero...and if i can do it myself...its rewarding as well...im replacing my filter today because i think iti is so dirty its making me very sick. Your video really is helpful. The desert wind and dirt plug it up quick. My Dealership wanted 30 for filter...plus 30 to put in..Filter is a bit more than 20 at autozone. Now i can do it myself....
Thank you for your instructive video. Of the four I have just watched, yours was the most thorough and helpful, with fewer distraction in terms of camera movement and more helpful camera placement. I especially liked the way you clarified the issue of air flow and showed the various prompts on the equipment to help answer that question.
Thanks for this! I just did this and the engine air filter on a '15 Fit. Saved me a bunch of money!
You saved me a ton of money. The Honda dealer charges $70 to do this.
Yep! My dealership service person came over to me while I was getting an oil change to say that my air filter and cabin filter both needed to be changed. With a straight face (behind her mask), she said it would be $60 each! Ouch! I said to do the air filter only. It was only AFTER that when I searched infornation and found that I probably ciuld have done both myself! Oh well. At least I didn't get doubly taken for a ride. I will change the cabin filter myself! Thanks for the video!
WOW! I just spent $100 for that!!! Thank You So Much for the video.
Another slam-dunk DIY video - just followed your instructions for both the cabin and engine filter replacements on my 2013 Fit. Solid instructions, calmly delivered.
I cant believe the dealership wanted to charge me 60$ for this
Just what I needed to know. Thank you!!!! Video was clear and straight to the point.
Quick and easy,
why can’t everyone do this?
These videos have been tremendously helpful. Thank you very much. :)
Thank you!! I’m so excited to try this!!
Very helpful. Even an "old lady could do it.
Thanks. Took me 3 minutes 😁
@ Lona Reach as far up as possible to where the 2 tap are that holds the glove box in place and squeeze the box from this | | to / \ ( in a angle )
love ur videos! you are just awesome!
Just changed the air filter very easy to do my 6 year old helped me out thank you for the help I had a question thou is it normal after changing it that it sounds of the air comes with a little bit of noise?
Its possible that the old filter was very dirty where it restricted the air flow from reaching the blower motor located under the cabin air filter. Now that you have a brand new filter.. no more restriction so there is better airflow. As long as the sound is not a ticking or a rattle sound, everything is fine.
Thank you very much for this video!
Hi. Can you tell me how is the white part called on the backside of the gloves box? It seems to be like a prefilter or so. Thanks a lot
thank you for the quick reply! :)
wow I didn’t even know there’s an air filter there
Thank you so much
having trouble getting glove-box unhooked. don't want to break it. 2012 Fit. any suggestions?
Thks bro
Any clue how it differs on first gen Fits? ('07 and '08)
Thanks!
Sorry if I go offtopic Jeff, but I have a question. Do I need to use a battery tender if I want to replace my Fit's battery? Or is it just fine changing them without keeping the old memory settings?
Its fine to change without a battery tender but just be mindful that the vehicle will not pass smog until the car cycles through the emission system ready status setting. Also you will have to set your radio settings again.
@@DIYCarModz Thanks for the swift reply, man. In my country, they don't care about car emissions so that won't be a problem. I will just ignore the battery tender and switch batteries soon. Thank you.
hello! thank you for the video! can you tell me where you buy the parts? and if you have an idea how much? honda is charging me 34.99 for cabin air filter and 29.99 for engine air filter. and im sure they will charge me tax. thank you
I purchase mine from www.hondapartsunlimited.com. Or if my local Honda Dealership has a coupon then I stop by and buy it from them. Check out your local honda delaership and click on parts and check if they have any special deals. Also, there is nothing wrong with using aftermarket filters, so stop by your local auto store and check out the prices as well.
For some reason I thought it took longer.
After how much time or mileage should we replace the filter? my mileage is over 148, 000 km & ive never changed it...
I would change it every other year or every 50,000km.
@@DIYCarModz Thanks a lot...i appreciate it!Keep up the good job man...

Change it every year or every 15,000 to 20,000. The cabin air filter ensures that you're breathing clean air so don't cheap out on such an essential part.
Omg the dealer charges 80 just to do that
i drove my accord for 20 years never bothered with the filter... cars are not airtight u get smoke all time and these kind of filter cant handle fine dust nd smoke
20 years is just nasty for a cabin air filter. it traps stuff like leaves and dead bugs that will decay and mold and all the air coming through your vents will pass right through that nasty stuff.
Ever have a smell like a wet dog coming from your A/C?
3.141 59 YES, definitely, maybe even combined with some limburger cheese. I believe it is due to dog hair (from my yellow lab) trapped in the cabin filter. After viewing this video, I will be changing the cabin filter.
it's likely mildew. I use Lysol spray twice a year directly from the outside air vents (by the wiper blades) while having the fan blowing, spraying 1-3 seconds on each of the fan settings, starting with max cold all settings and then max hot all settings.
