I must warn you, especially those who really love the books- this is mostly AU story; nothing has yet been confirmed, but there are numerous theories regarding these characters and their storyline. I chose to make a story I most believe in, or better yet, how I would like it to be.
That being said, I hope that people who don't even know who they are, will find a way to enjoy it. After all, I find pre-asoiaf stories more interesting and inspiring to vid, that anything else on the world. I missed this, but I'm sure most of you will look over this rant of mine, and that's ok, as long as it was easy for you to understand everything without it- then I say, my job is done. Much love for all of you and thank you for being here, even tho I haven't posted a thing in last 6 months. I'm sorry for that, but college happened.
» storyline:
In main lines, the story of the video follows the story of asoiaf, or at least, theories that can (but maybe won't) be confirmed. At the Tourney at Harrenhal, Brandon and Ashara meet, and later fall in love. There is a scene between Brandon, Ashara and Ned, where I tried to show you the only canon part in the books- when Brandon asked Ashara to dance with his brother, Ned. Later on, Brandon impregnates Ashara, but leaves after that, because he was already promised to another woman (not the point of my story, so she's not mentioned). When he arrives home, his father informs him and his brothers, that Lyanna, the she wolf, is gone, abducted by Rhaegar. They go after her, arrive at King's landing, where the Mad King burns Rickard Stark alive and Brandon dies choking, in attempt to reach the sword. Ashara appears to him, as a vision. Jaime Lannister tells Ned how they died, in present time. Months after their death, Ashara gives birth to a stillborn child, and having her heart broken, she throws herself into the sea. Her body was never recovered.

Wow, gorgeous... This actress portrayed as Ashara has really beautiful eyes, just like the character. And Chris Hemsworth as Ned... thought I was the only one who find him the spitting image of Sean Bean.
This? This is phenomanal. I am blown away. I have no idea how to describe my feelings and emotions and face expression, because they are all over the place. Wow.
This story is brilliant. From just one cannon from book and few not confirmed theories you made this? Damn, I am hooked.
I am so glad that you are back and that you've returned with this masterpiece. This deserves every single editing and story line award. You are just made to do this. i doubt things were so ok between brandon and ashara. remember selmy stated that a stark had dishonored her... now who is more likely to dishonor, ned or brandon?
i know this is an old comment, but still we have to look at selmy as a character. if he says someone dishonoured her, it's likely that she slept with someone, which is in his eyes a dishonourable act for a noble lady. i doubt brandon would have slept with ashara if she wasn't willing

this is absolutely stunning. not only your fancast (which is amazing! while they are not all my absolute favourites, i totally agree with all of your choices bc they fit so incredibly well!) but also the music choice and the editing and your choice of scenes, esp how you chose to portray some parts of the story that are very unique and quite hard to find (eg. brandon's choking, ashara's suicide) and still managed to portray it in a way that the plot is absolutely clear. (do i sound bonkers? i think i do but i hope you understand what i mean ^^ )
this might be one of my favourite pre-asoiaf fanvids ever. it is a perfect compilation of just the right things, the mood is fantastic and i found myself craving more at the end. very very well done.

To be honest, only the main ones are my absoulute choice of cast, and some less important characters (Rickard, Arthur, Lyanna) are there because it was easier to use them, then to fill in my perfect ones. yes, henry cavill really is the best imaginable brandon, and i hadn't really thought about mina (since i haven't seen dracula yet) as ashara, but is absolutely makes sense (actually - out of the casting choices i've seen so far - it makes the *most* sense) and she has the same haunting, seductive, but still kind of 'pure' beauty that ashara is described to have had in the books, so indeed a very good choice. thanks for that :D

Hahah, yes there was no doubt when it came to chosing Brandon. Even tho Henry is often used as Robert, it's hard to imagine Robert that handsome, when we know how he looks now. The weird thing is- I only watched one episode of Dracula, but she really is Ashara, with her grand beauty, black hair and gazing eyes (even tho they're not purple, but oh well). Thank you once again, and I'm heading to tumblr now, to check out your blog. :D
henry is just such a convenient fancast :D i've also seen him as ned and as an older bran and garlan tyrell and whatnot. well, robert is described as having been tall and handsome (similar to henry viii i think, who was the perfect renaissance prince in his youth and then, during his reign, turned fat, unhealthy and ugly), handsome enough that even cersei was enchanted by him (for a couple of hours). i've seen people use michael marcus from the white queen, mostly bc the clips fit well, but i also think that he's a good choice. also appropriately young.
yeah we'll have trouble finding an actress with purple eyes. :D but that's, uh, creative freedom~ :D

Yes, he has been described as very handsome, and even tho Henry might be a good choice for Robert, in my opinion, he's more Brandon than anyone else. Oh I've never seen Michael as Robert, now that's an interesting choice, even tho I have seen Aneurin Barnard, aslo from twq, cast as Robert. Now that's a strange one, but again, scenes fit so well.

In the beginning, it's supposedly Brandon speaking, but the voice I used is of Jonathan Mayers. There are several speeches of him I used, some from T udors, and others from Dracula. :)

To your theory. I´m not 100% sure about this part, but I think he was on his way for Catelyn when he heard, but what I´m sure - Rhaegar and Elia managed to concieve and bore Aegon between the tourney and Lyanna´s abduction. Not even road to Winterfell is so long. Rethink your line of events.
