It makes it all the more heart wrenching that that last scene when Floki was leaving Kattegat really was the last time the two would ever see each other again.
Frankly, I loved Ivar because the whole world despised him and hated him. Even Ragnar, I loved him because of his different way of thinking. He was a genius. Even though everyone, even his brothers, mocked his strength, he proved the opposite. He became a monster that everyone feared.
All Ivar wanted was to be with his father. He got that opportunity, but only for a short period and then just like that, his father was taken from him. Floki was there for him and then just like that, he took off. And in between he also lost his mother. He kept losing the people he loved. But that short time he spent with Ragnar changed him forever. Ragnar instilled in him confidence, strength, hope, belief in himself, and a sense of destiny.
