Kenan Harkin visits Jerry Fife in Arizona for a special treat and education on breeding Galapagos Tortoises. Jerry is one of a very select few to have actually bred these amazing creatures. Wow. The actual Jerry Fife. I have heard about and read many things from him. First time seeing him in person. His info on star tortoises have really helped me out. I live in hawaii and last year produced my first batch of Sri Lankan stars. 12 more eggs this season. Awesome videos Kenan. Glad i got to finally see mr Fife.
Keenan please help spread the word about the thieves who brutally ran over and killed Jerry Fifes 27 year old tortoise.

Have you or any of the other keepers you know that house their animals in outdoor enclosures ever had problems with impactions or parasites and things like that? It seems that whenever I bring up the subject and advantages of keeping animals in outdoor enclosures with the average reptile owners/keepers/hobbyists those two things always pop up and are always what they use to argue the merits of it.

You can't own a Galapagos tortoise with a special permit on account of them being endangered.

+Syber Lord they sell them on a turtle farm in AZ. Smh. I've seen people with Galapagos turtles in my home town in MO. I don't think everyone visited Galapagos and got one for there. I will have one regardless of what you say. Don't knock my dream smh
+Cherry Lynn you couldn't have seen people in your town sell the tortoises. Look it up, there a highly protected species and its damn near impossible for me to just believe you. I don't want to discourage you from owning one, as I want to have one too its just that regular people can't get them like the average fish from a pet store.

oh they dont just bite... they tear your skin off..and eat it. jk jk... i have a tort.. theyre really calm.. but yeah if you purposely put your finger in thier mouth.. they might. :p :)

Ok. Thanks man :) I wanna buy a Greek that would be better. To put into my little girls home. So she has a buddy. At what age do Greeks mate so I know or have an idea when to remove him and have him separated from her so they don't breed.
That tortoise can grow bigger beside that is the largest of the tortise
