      It is sadly true but fratricide was the only way to prevent rebellion. They had fewer rebellion then the europeans because all the possibilities for a rebellion die.

    203 died of natural causes
    33 became sultans
    1 became a caliph
    54 died of execution/killing
    total: 291 sehzades
    and about 368 total ottoman leaders

    I request you to use wikipedia picture Caliph Legendary Sultan Ahmed the great (Ahmed I), which contains beard. he was the most merciful sultan and one of the best, he was very pious. by no means he looked like the picture you use (only moustache), so i would request you to use his picture that contains beard

      the guy lived 27 years, I'm sure there's more than one painting of him and not all are exactly accurate so you don't need to ask OHH to change it just coz it doesn't look 'good' or 'like another painting'

      @@dogman8547 Shut up. You do realize that literally Sultana Kosem ruled Murad? Murad had no control his mother was the person in charge and when he was gone she kept ruling. And Hurrem literally ruled Suleyman. He followed her decisions and people even think she bewitched him. Oh and lets not forget Mihrimah she was the apple of Suleymans eye and a genius at that.

    Cihangir did not die of broken heart but of health issues he had from birth. He wasn't close to Mustapha because he went to sanjak when Cihangir was just two. Don't believe anything you see in Magnificent Century nothing there is true. Thanks for this hub anyway.

      That's an exaggeration,obviously it's a drama show but most of it is accurate,a chunk is unnecessary nonsense yes.

If Suleiman can say he had gone for years not seeing Mustapha but goes regularly to see Mehmet, Selim and Bayezit how will Chiangir get close to Mustapha to the extent he will die of broken heart for him? After magnificent century aired, a lot of rubbish was published online. Do your research deliberately. A lot of Ottoman writing has also been published online. If you understand the language, it's a wealth of information

      In this video I only showcased every Ottoman Sehzade during the age of the Empire. I only showed the Sultans sons and grandsons. The great grandsons of Murad V and Abdulhamid II are still alive today. The reason why Ertrugrul Osman is considered the "Last Ottoman" is because he was the last living Ottoman sehzade who had lived in Constantinople during the time of the Ottoman Empire. After him all other Ottoman sehzades were born in exile outside of Turkey.

      They had a very uneasy relationship dating back to their childhood, and Ahmed had contradicting liberal views compared to Abdulhamids Conservative mindset. He was convicted with treason.
