It's really good & well researched; but don't you honestly think that the amount of ads might well be counterproductive due to their extremely interruptive amount cutting the video constantly. I completely understand the need to make revenue - it's just that you might end up missing some in the end.. Oh well, you have the statistics and know better, I just thought I'd mention....

He turned back in Arberi and ruled as a leader for 25 years and never loosed a battle against Ottomans.
One short time you put him in the video.

and almost same thing happening today between greeks and turkey, they wasting their energy by insisting on their rights without giving any each other. if they'd get along with each other somewhere in the future they would probably quadruple their power or more. Ironically, they refuse to see their past; If they did, they could realize how powerful and prosperous they have been throughout history when the two sides of the Aegean join together.

But with this logic, the Greeks will also want to claim land by saying that the western Anatolia belonged to them thousands of years ago. what happened, the Greeks reclaimed enough land, the Turks protected enough land. maybe they can try to bond with each other with small gestures to solve geopolitical problems. The problem is that they both consider giving little land a matter of honor. this is very old-fashioned and meaningless stubbornness. Both sides are the same in behavioral and cultural matters. Despite their different colors, both sides have the same mindset in terms of both belief and social aspects. Those who do not accept this do not realize that they do not accept it because they are the same. i believe greek and turk allience might shape the next modern century for whole europe and middle east. but they both need suppress the radicals within their country first. do i know how? no, thats the job of the politicians.

Plenty of examples of Courage leading to huge defeat and death and a few where cowardice has lead to out right victory.
Better stratagy, weapons, training and a bigger better equipped army is definitely a better option for victory every time than courage.
Boringly good planners, military leaders who are good at employing the right people in the right places to keep their armies well supplied and led by great tactical Generals are the rulers who really win wars and create the biggest empires.
The further back you go the more influence and effect having a brave leader had on the out come of a battle and it definitely helped but its far from the only thing or the most important thing for a great leader needs to be a conqueror.
Just take Augustus, he was a very average general and not particularly brave, once leaving the sight of a battle before it started and leaving it to his main General Agrippa to lead the battle and all his battles from then on.
It was the one thing that Romans disliked about him and most of his propaganda was trying to make up for this perceived lack. However he was a truly great leader, Emperor and Politician and especially good at the boring stuff of feeding the masses and putting the best people in the right places.

Religion is not a divider of humanity, because religion is one of the symbols in realizing peace and solidarity with humanity.Every religion was revealed as a guide for human life. The universal value of religion is to keep human life in the corridor of harmony, peace and brotherhood. Let us invite the world community to interpret religion as a unifying tool between people to create peace and unity. All religions are said to have the ultimate goal of humanizing humans. We are religious, one of the goals is for humanity, not just for God. One example, one of the commands in Islam to perform prayer or prayer, the true truth in its purpose is that people do not
do heinous things to fellow human beings...Greetings of Peace from the Land of Dayak, Earth of Borneo...

Napoleon Bonaparte has conquered Egypt when Egypt was still belonging to the Ottoman Emoire.
While Wellington only knew how to Welding tons of junk metals together. And Nelson was only capable of deploying his half nelson moves in wrestling, Napoleon Bonaparte had lots of great military & strategical maneuvers. Among them are his ability to Blown apart the bodies of all his enemy’s soldiers with his cannons while keeping his own soldiers from being Blownaparted. Napoleon Bonaparte’s soldiers all have great appetite therefore they would constantly ordering French Fries 🍟 from Marshal McDonald while he still needed to constantly loading cannons with Quarter-pounder cannonballs!?,?!

The League of Lezhë (Albanian: Lidhja e Lezhës), also commonly referred to as the Albanian League (Albanian: Lidhja Arbërore), was a military and diplomatic alliance of the Albanian aristocracy, created in the city of Lezhë on 2 March 1444. The idea of recalling the retired Sultan Murad to the throne came not from Mehmed II, who was still a young lad, but from his old and wise Sadr- Azam Çandarlı Halil Paşa. As is well known, Mehmet II had Çandarlı Halil executed following the capture of Constantinople, primarily as a result of rumors spread by his rivals alleging that he took bribes from Byzantium to dissuade the Sultan from invading the city. According to many historians, another reason for Mehmet's rage was the letter delivered to the retired Sultan at Çandarlı's behest. Appearently, the boy Sultan had been deeply offended by this intervention to his authority.

Ottoman Empire advanced her infrustructure, architecture, skills and numbers of artists, scholars immensely when Bayezid II was the ruler. Many criticize him for his passive policies but in fact, people were very tired of wars. There was non-stop expansion and wars in Mehmed II's reign. Although Mehmed II was the conquerer of these lands, it was Bayezid II who transformed the conquered lands to a part of homeland. Bayezid II was the one who prepared the intellectual ground of the world's strongest empire in 16th century.
Think it like a machine: Mehmed II used this machine to it's full might for a long period of time. But the machine needs to cool off to stay undamaged and keep working for a much longer period. Bayezid II stopped the machine, modified and updated it to work much stronger and much longer with much more stability and delivered the machine to Selim I.

Suleiman was not a very good leader. He was already at the height of Ottoman power when his father, Selim I, left the country to him. It was very easy to do this when he already had so many opportunities. He also killed his own son, Şehzade Mustafa. Şehzade Mustafa was a very intelligent, knowledgeable boy with a great military genius. If he had not killed him, the Ottoman Empire would probably have moved much further. Also, for the first time in history, a Turk did not rule the Ottoman Empire because of Suleiman. I'm talking about Selim 2. He is the son of a Ukrainian woman. By the way, where are you from?

Maybe if he would reign more than 8 years he would take all Persia and east europe (italia, austria and so one), but the territories of the ottomans was to big to go further out. Everytime when the Ottomans started to take areas of Germany. The germans took that areas back when the army Is going back to the capital. That was common. In the time of Suleiman Khan, no army goes in a open battlefield with them. Thats why his soliders could go into cities like Stuttgart. In those times the ottomans got taxes from nearly all european countries. It was not difficult to take more areas. It was difficult to stay in that areas. So if they go the europe the persians started to attack them. If they attack persia european contries attack them. Thats the reason why they couldnt conquer more areas without loosing some. Even Suleiman Khan said that he reached the final borders of the ottomans. More than that could lead to dangers.

    • @vatravlahilor492
      @vatravlahilor492 3 года назад +7

Well the Sieg of Plevne was probably the most important battle in the Russo-Turkish war that at the same time was the independence war for many balkan countries. After 2 failed attacks the russians asked Romania for help and the King send a romanian army and took control over the romanian-russian contingent, starting a Sieg around Plevna cuting it from food, ammunition etc. An failed attempt of breaking the Sieg failed and the ottoman general Osman Pasha was wounded. Finally he surrended with his troops to the romanian general commander of the troops in Plevna, Mihail cherchez to whom Osman Pasha handed his sword and declared himself prisoner of war.

Though the Ottoman Empire was far from perfect, its demise has in some ways been a disaster for the Middle East. All kinds of ethnic and religious hatreds that had been kept under control by the Ottomans ignited in the decades following its collapse (many parts of the Middle East had more ethnic/religious diversity prior to the Ottoman collapse). And the end of the last Muslim caliphate, together with the Wahhabi takeover of Mecca and Medina, paved the way for the Saudis to promote a more intolerant and puritanical brand of Islam.

Most importantly, if I have the chance to live freely and with respect for women, If I have the right to choose in the political arena as a woman, and most importantly, if I can live independently, this is THANKS TO ATATÜRK. The Arnavut (🇦🇱) have contributed enormously in the Ottoman Empire and also in Turkey today ...
Many Albanians were recruited into the Ottoman Devşirme and Janissary with 42 Grand Viziers of the Ottoman Empire being of Albanian origin ( ... )
Malcolm 2002, p. 82. "Modern historians would also think it necessary to refer to the many examples of cooperation (sometimes to mutual advantage) between inhabitants of the Albanian lands and their foreign rulers - above all, in the case of the Ottomans, with their innumerable soldiers and officials of Albanian origin.
Example (Statesmen, revolutionary, generals, notables or ruling families of Albanian origin) :
      - Lala Shahin pacha (first Beylerbey of the Ottoman Empire, governor of Rumelia).
      - Lala Mustafa pacha defeated the Venetians in Famagusta (Cyprus)
      - Mehmed Pasha Arnavud, Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.
      - Köprülü, an important Turkish family of Albanian origin of which FIVE members were Grand Viziers of the Ottoman Empire from 1656 to 1710 and in Turkey until today.
      - Fazil Ahmet pacha, Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.
      - Mustafa Hussein, Grand-Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.
      - Mehmet Ali, vice king of Egypt, founder of an Albanian dynasty that reigned for nearly 150 years, including the last king of Egypt, Farouk I.
      - Mustafa Kemal said, Atatürk, statesman founder of modern Turkey (having Albanian origins)
      Etc...
Famous architect of the Ottoman Empire of Albanian origin:
      - Sinân Mimar built the most beautiful mosque of Istanbul (Süleymaniye, between 1550 and 1557), the Shehzâde mosque of Istanbul, the Selîmiye mosque of Edrine (his masterpiece), the white mosque (Yeni Djami) and nearly 360 other monuments.
      - Sedef Qar Mehmet Biçakci of Elbasan, architect of the Hyppodrome or Atmeydan Mosque.
(System of aqueducts of Istanbul built by several Albanian architects)
      - Mehmet Mustafa Agha and Hoxha Kasem built the Valid Sultaniyé Mosque in Galata (Istanbul -1873).
      Etc ...

Many of the best fighters in the sultan's elite guard, the janissaries, were conscripted as young boys from Christian Albanian families, and high-ranking Ottoman officials often had Albanian bodyguards.

These days Britain still catches loads of flak over its empire, as though it alone deserves criticism. But since ancient times, empires were the norm rather than the exception. Russia is an empire, the USA is really an offshoot of the British empire, and has reserved the Americas for itself, and China displays most of the characteristics of an empire as well, with Tibetan and more recently Islamic regions being systematically suppressed in favor of so-called ‘Chinese norms’. Imperialism is alive and well and is still thriving today

Russia is actually a bad example here. Britain gets a bad rep for being a Colonial empire, not just an empire. Russia expanded peacefully into siberia with indigenous peoples actually just making a lucrative deal for joining Russia, and expansion in europe was very often expansion into enemy territory after successful defensive wars against nations like poland/lithuania/ottomans
But I get your point. As an example, the ottomans enslaved more slavics than europe enslaved african americans, yet nobody mentions this

@@artyomarty391 Peter Ustinov (half Russian, half Anglo-German) points out that Russia and the USA developed at roughly the same time, and by roughly the same methods. While USA had a semi-lawless ‘Wild West’, Russia in many ways had a semi-lawless ‘Wild East’. But I don’t buy your description of Russia’s westward expansion being totally peaceful. Battles were fought too - often by individuals acting as a proxy for Russian interests. IMHO the whole of Asian Russia are de-facto colonies, if not de-jure. Once orders started coming from Moscow these ‘colonies’ were effectively expropriated into the huge Russia of today. Not surprising so many states opted for independence after the fall of the Soviet Union! As to the USA of the 19th century, one has to admit that the original British colonies - once they had gained independence - simply appropriated to themselves the right to ‘colonize’ westwards by calling it expansion - with disastrous consequences for the indigenous people. Apart from the small Indian population today, each and every individual in the USA is a de-facto colonial!

@@CONNELL19511216 i was born in Siberia, I've met many indigenous peoples. To me it seemed they all could care less who they belonged to. In other words, they didnt feel like Russia "captured" them. Such a notion also supports many historians, if not all, that Russian simply peacefully annexated all indigenous peoples
even if Russian eastward expansion was sometimes with military conflict, you cant compare it to, for example, the outright military capture of Britain with India
The westward expansion of Russia is a bit different. First, you have to take into account that these west countries were agressors themselves. Moscovy was taken by control by lithuanians and poland.
In any case, I agree with your initial point that many countries were empires, and many countries are still ARE empires. But my point was that Russia, specifically, was not as such an Empire as you would think, compared to others (although today its a different story).

The video is very well worked and widely covered about almost everything in Ottoman history. I just thought maybe you could tell a bit more about Cem Sultan, that whole series of events are really important for Ottomans' relations with Europeans. Also, as a Turkish person, i think there are so many wrong pronounciations of the names. Even if i did understand what you are saying i had a bit of confusion sometimes. That could have been more worked on but overall the video is really good!
