As far as the gyro, you can also bind it in the app to specific buttons, I bound it to activate when LT pressed down and it made my gameplay a lot more accurate, as well as “hair triggers” on your app is not making it activate to 100% activation at any actuation, the way it works is if you pull trigger and move back out of it at all and press back down it counts as a full reactivation, so if you press to full trigger pull and move back to half trigger and press back down to full trigger even though you never fully backed out if the trigger it’ll fire again, it made my RPS go up about 3 when using pistols
The software is absolutely necessary especially if you want to only use the gyro for aiming down sights. The button on the back only activates the gyro to be on all the time. In the app you can make the gyro activate with LT which is perfect for FPS. Also bring able to adjust the sensitivity cannot be done without the software.
I just picked up this device about a month or two ago and overall I like it and i’m happy I picked it up. I got tired of having to send my elite controller back to microsoft to fix. The rear buttons are fine but they aren’t my favorite design, they work for my needs but I don’t prefer the button rocking type of system, I prefer the elite 2 paddle design as opposed to having to click the inner buttons with the inside of my finger. One downside for me as others have stated is 3.5mm headphone audio only works when playing wired, I have a wired headset so I only play wired and don’t even use the dongle , that’s only for wireless play. You can buy a wireless headset though to use in order to play wireless. Another minor complaint I have is sometimes I will accidentally click the turbo button or one of the other buttons that causes one of my buttons to rapid fire unintentionally, which sometimes presents problems while i’m gaming. I only play single player games as of now so I just needed the paddles and not the other functions but it was will worth buying
I’m curious as to how good the motion control translation is. Translating right stick inputs into a gyroscope is very difficult, and varies wildly for each game because of built in deadzones, acceleration ramp up, response curves, etc. The kind of gyro I’m used to is using steam to map the mouse to a gyroscope. That’s usually the most accurate and enjoyable. Steam Controller gyro and trackpads are god like at aiming. But your mileage may vary. Some games don’t allow mouse+gamepad at the same time. For those that do (games like Doom 2016/Eternal) it’s amazing.
I'm so bummed they discontinued the Steam controller. It might not feel like the most premium controller and the learning curve is high but, once you get used to it, it's in a league of its own.
It's good, but it won't be as good as gyro to mouse with Steam Input. I use both regularly, and this feels very similar to using Steam Input to right stick. It is a very good controller, but gyro to mouse still beats it.
Honestly I used the original with two paddles and I loved it and I prefer playing wired so it never bothered me but when I couldn't afford a nice controller this was a life saver!
Elite is not worth it. I have one and the left bumper and left stick + A button are already broken. I just ordered this to be used with my original Xbox series X controller. The bumpers and sticks are imo even better on that than with the elite 2.
Good video dude, the pack seems pretty cool, i like that the motion function is actually functional and not just a gimmick, would be something I'd buy if all i needed was back paddles alongside a battery pack, also hopefully one comes out for PS.
You never even mentioned the hair triggers in software. I was wondering if you could combine it with some of the cheap clip-on hair trigger switch kits (that replace the side covers) so that they actually actuate reliably, often their biggest complaint. Still leaves you with the option to remove them if you wanted to.
Collective minds makes some. Haven’t tried them though. But thinking about it. Cause I can find a good pro controller. So maybe I’ll try these back buttons with the collective minds hair trigger stops.
did a xinput test it’s not a consistent 8ms goes from 15ms to 8ms noticeable delay it’s not worth buying. my controller feels more responsive when I have the armor x pro disconnected
The fact that it's 4 months later and he still hasn't answered is really unfortunate. What's the point of all this detail when crucial information like this is left out?
I finally ordered one now that the price has dropped. i received it yesterday and man its amazing love this thing im going to order a few more for gifts
Thanks to yet another review of yours, I decided to buy this. *I love thing kajigger!* Got the cheaper one since I never use gyro. Instead, it comes with a "hair trigger" function which I haven't noticed any change in the trigger functionality. First time I've used *turbo* though and liked it since my NES days. With all the features combined this makes playing *Hogwarts Legacy* way easier to play. I have this on my 20th anniversary Xbox controller, so the only downside is that the matching charging dock is useless now.
I play pubg mobile with gyro, And atleast 95-98% of our clan member uses gyro for presice aim- Its not a gimmick 😶 Just need some time for muscle memory to capture.
Yo Gamer Heaven, SCUF just released 3 types of brand new "universal thumbstick grips". They go for $15-20 and with one of the types using what looks like the caps on the Reflex/Instinct. They all have different sizes, colors, and styles. I've personally never used any scuf thumbsticks but I've heard good things about how they feel. Would be really interested to hear your thoughts on them, if they're any good/worth picking up, and if they actually are universal, thanks.
I purchased the non pro version after watching your video and so far I like it but was wondering if the 10ms avg that I get wirelessly on the inputchecker is better than what I would get using an xbox dongle. I was thinking about getting an elite series 2 and using it wirelessly instead but not if the input lag is too high. Its a good product but it randomly starts inputting every button on my controller about twice per session and as you mentioned in the video, it does stick out a tad bit so thats the only reason Im thinking about going with the es2 for the paddles. Also, any chance youll be reviewing the rainbow 2 pro from bigbig won? curious to see how it scores from your review.
I'm surprised it took this long for a company to do this. These paddle packs are relatively simple, just a man in the middle device, takes controller input and repeats it, while intercepting and injecting for the remapping features, and this is why they're always wired accessories; basically, the pack itself _is_ the controller as seen by the host device, the physical controller is just a set of buttons used for input for the pack. Adding a battery and making it wireless is a relatively simple thing to do, we have third party battery packs for the controller platform already, and we have chatpad accessories that're BT devices from third parties, no reason to not combine aspects of the three accessories to make a wireless paddle pack. What I find interesting is the implementation of an IMU (gyroscope + accelerometers, occasionally a 3D compass will be included as well to not have to orient the device constantly) on Xinput as injecting right analog inputs rather than the full six additional axes that Xinput doesn't have the breathing room for. Now what disappoints me is that Microsoft isn't doing this themselves, or not yet at least. I've argued for years that Microsoft is lacking due to their refusal to expand Xinput, as the two other platforms have supported motion control for three generations now, and PC has supported it via Dinput and Steam Input more recently. Remember the official PlayStation paddle pack for the DS4, that used the accessory port, which the DS5 also has, via an I2C bus, though there's nuances to how the device is actually programmed, Sony calls this port on the bottom of the controller the extension port, or EXT. Microsoft also has an I2C bus, two actually, the first is used to link the top button board to the bottom board that has the castellated SOC on it, this is how they save pins on the connectors between the two boards, the second I2C bus goes through the expansion port. This expansion port only works with first party accessories, so the various headset modules, the official media module, the first party chatpad, whereas third party devices only use power and ground through this port while the third party accessory itself is is a BT device with a separate dongle; and this comes down to lack of firmware for these devices, Microsoft would never support third party accessories in this way, which is why third party accessories are always BT devices, though with open controller firmware one could hypothetically create a native accessory using the expansion port. If Microsoft ever expands Xinput to allow for a multi-axis IMU, say a next gen feature, and they want to retain forwards-compatible controllers, such as they did with XBO controllers on XBS, they'll have to make an IMU pack using the expansion port, a port that has long since been dead but is surprisingly retained. Similarly, I'm surprised Microsoft didn't make a paddle pack via the same port, as a Core accessory if someone doesn't want to immediately invest into an Elite, which could also help with price bracketing between Core, Core + paddle pack, Elite core, and Elite with the accessories; not to mention people can continue to use their favorite edition of controller, as Elite has only recently gained Design Lab support. And again, if Microsoft would just open up their firmware a bit, accessories could be using the expansion port already, Microsoft already has an official licensing program, and it wouldn't add too much overhead to internally open up controller firmware to create a whitelist of third party accessories; but not only this, going back to a previous statement of 'the USB paddle pack being the controller and the physical controller being a set of input buttons,' would no longer be the case if Microsoft changed their ways, as the base controller itself would still be the device seen by the host, where any pack via the expansion port would purely be an accessory, which ties into combatibility and retention of Microsoft's proprietary wireless implementation. At the end of the day, these packs should have existed for some time now, at least as far back as the 360, and Microsoft could be making these packs themselves and allowing third party packs to work via the expansion port. It's a disappointment that it's taken _this_ long just to get any improvement in the accessory scene, and it's an even larger disappointment that the latter half of the issue will more than likely never be resolved; outside of the one scenario of Microsoft updating Xinput and making a pack to allow for forward compatibility, but we won't see this until next gen consoles at the earliest, if ever. As for why it's taken this long for a paddle pack to have wireless support, I don't really understand it, I had conversations years ago with people about doing this, and how one could hypothetically build this exact system with off the shelf components and basic programming; it's literally just a microcontroller, such as your Arduinos, Pi Pico, etc., with an IMU and wireless radio, and some additional buttons, with simplistic code that is literally just a repeater for all incoming inputs, an intercept for remapping features, and an injector for pack-based input, a very simplistic product that's not all that difficult to package into a PCB that fits the typical paddle pack dimensions, then programming the microcontroller to play nice with whatever input API you're working with. There literally is no excuse for why a product like this has taken so long to come to market, this literally could've been done a decade or more ago with no trouble, though I do understand that gyro aiming is more of a later development when it comes to motion so the argument of an IMU on Xinput isn't as strong until the past half decade or so when gyro aiming has become much more widely used, as gyro on Xinput has to be an analog injection as the input API doesn't have overhead for proper motion capabilities. I just hope things change either during this generation's mid-gen refresh or at the launch of next gen.
thanks bro, after becoming a huge fan of its design and getting really comfortable with the buttons... less than two weeks later this thing started having the most ATROCIOUS input lag at the most random moments. funny thing is, my controller works perfectly, once the armor x is removed. for brief moments the entire controller becomes a brick and in game im just doing involuntary movements, ideal ranked experiences. 10/10 returned and refunded 😄
Hmm I may pick this up. I still use a ds4 on pc with the sony back button attachment because it was the only back button attachment that can be used wirelessly. I dont really care for the other features of this attachment, but being wireless, battery and 4 buttons pretty much sold me on an xbox controller. Sure I could get a "pro controller" but those are too expensive to replace once something breaks.
Why on gods green earth has no company made a dedicated xbox controller for shooters? Like, swap the placement of the face buttons and the right analog stick so both thumbs can be in their natural place. Hell, just remove the damn facebuttons even if you have 4 on the back.
you forgot that you can set the gyro for the left or the right thumbstick... I'm cuorius if you can drive with the gyro like you could do with dualsense and gran turismo 7
so I watched your vid yesterday and remembered the KingKong 2 Pro video you did. Since the kingkong pro uses an xbox shell couldn't you get this strike pack for use on the Kingkong pro? Giving you Hall sticks + 4 programable buttons.
I wish I had seen this before I got the Retroflag Superpack, That thing doesn't even actually work with the xbox. I guess it is useful for Switch and PC, but I want back buttons for my xbox controller to use on my XBOX! lol
Can you do a review on this one please? Wireless Bluetooth BIGBIG WON R100 Pro Controller Adapter for Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One X|S/Elite Series 2/PS5/PS4/Switch Pro
As far as I understand from this, you can't bind the extra buttons to anything else? I mean you can just swap for buttons that are already on the controller? For me that's what matters. Playing games on PC that needs MORE buttons to bind stuff to, like keyboard commands. So can you bind them to anything else, or did I miss something?
Bigbig problem. Your headset, you know...the one you plug into your controller, doesn't work with this unless you WIRE it to your console. Maybe that should have been in your review...
On AliExpress it is so much cheaper. with tax in the UK it is today £31 with a code you can find on the AliExpress Reddit before black friday it was £40 ish with tax so I had to jump on that price point after watching this review. I need gyro and well everything else is a plus but can you use it wired if the battery ever degrades?
Hey as far as gyro controllers go is this still worth it? Right now I'm using a steam controller and would try the alpakka but it doesn't have wireless for my use case.
I wonder if ARMOR-X Proworks with Playstation 5 I mean, will the PS5 recognize the gamepad from Microsoft + Armor X as native and will it be possible to play
This video is oldish but can anyone confirm or deny if the paddle system works when the controller is connected via Bluetooth example while playing pubs mobile or cod mobile?
PlayStation had one for the ps4 yes I know I am an Xbox guy and I cringe when someone says PlayStation But it’s 10 dollars it’s uncomfortable but is easy to use and a game changer for me
You think after the whole strike pack thing, that this has a chance of getting banned too? I would assume not since it uses its own dongle but idk. I love them, just don’t want my account banned. Lmao
Can you get banned using this device like when u use the universal strike pack eliminator? Because i tried using it in a private match just to see if i could use it in standard mode without mods so i could use the 4 backbuttons but after the match ended i immediately got a warning that said next time i would be banned. So i was wondering if i can use this one instead.
Can someone PLEASE tell me the name of the white controller at 1:58 … I play a weird claw grin where both my triggers and bumpers have fingers resting on them at all times so my other two fingers sit very low, too low to hit most paddles. Do they make Xbox controllers with paddles just as low?
I believe it’s a PS5 pro controller. Either BattleBeaver or HYPR. Battle beaver makes Xbox controllers where you can put the buttons in about 6-8 different locations on each side while HYPR currently doesn’t do remappable Xbox controllers. BB goes for around $200+ though.
The Strikepack Dominator is decent until the paddles inevitably snap in half because the design is terrible. Would like to see your thoughts on the Eliminator though.
I have it. I love it. Been using it for 2 years now. I remap buttons constantly and it still works great I bought the PS4 version as well as the Xbox version
@JokuYT I would also like to know. Have you used it on a xbox series console lately? Did the update that made 3rd party usb devices stop this thing from working?
Bruh I asked for this video a week ago and now I'm here lol My only real complaint with my unit is that yes, the buttons can be very easy to accidentally press. But my xbox guide button also stops being reliable when I have the back button attached. It'll kind of long-press in a weird way
As far as the gyro, you can also bind it in the app to specific buttons, I bound it to activate when LT pressed down and it made my gameplay a lot more accurate, as well as “hair triggers” on your app is not making it activate to 100% activation at any actuation, the way it works is if you pull trigger and move back out of it at all and press back down it counts as a full reactivation, so if you press to full trigger pull and move back to half trigger and press back down to full trigger even though you never fully backed out if the trigger it’ll fire again, it made my RPS go up about 3 when using pistols

This is a neat little device i want to try this.
What we need is an adjustable R3 button. Imagine screwing it right or left to adjust the resistance
If you need back buttons and never use wireless, just get a strikepack dominator. It’s much more sleek too, this thing is a behemoth.
Tried it, broke after 6 months.
The eliminator is the durable one
Collective minds makes shitty products tho, their quality isn't good and their literally are cheats
y it dosnt work in my pc but work in my ps4
Love the product! What about cabled headset and mic? They are working in the wireless mode?
From what I heard, they only work while the pack is wired unfortunately.
you forgot that you can set the gyro for the left or the right thumbstick... I'm cuorius if you can drive with the gyro like you could do with dualsense and gran turismo 7
I’m still waiting and looking for an answer
so I watched your vid yesterday and remembered the KingKong 2 Pro video you did. Since the kingkong pro uses an xbox shell couldn't you get this strike pack for use on the Kingkong pro? Giving you Hall sticks + 4 programable buttons.
Wise man said "forgiveness is divine buy never pay full price for late pizza "
Thanks for review it's cheaper than the Ellite
Can you use this with third party controllers this would help out A ton
I wish I had seen this before I got the Retroflag Superpack, That thing doesn't even actually work with the xbox. I guess it is useful for Switch and PC, but I want back buttons for my xbox controller to use on my XBOX! lol
Appreciate it Brother! I was gonna message ya last week and ask you if you could get a hold of one of these and check it out! You Da Man!!!🤝
does it work on xbox one wirelessly?
I am just amazed how much much more people deem gyro unnecessary. Its a great feature.
But can you plug in USB C and play wired if you prefer to over wireless?
Maybe that should have been in your review...
deal breaker for sure i have a wired controller too
does ARMOR PRO work together with CRONUS ZEN?
How is the latency on this mod compared to the original system controller?
From what I've seen elsewhere, very little, mainly a single game frame of lag usually
@@nazrac3449 cool thank you for that info.
Hey you forgot to talk about the hair trigger functionality. Could you give any insight to how this feels on the stick Xbox series controller?
I know it's not an easy-plug rear button but can you review the ExtremeRate Rise 4 for dualsense controller?
I’m thinking about getting this for my Xbox Series X since I have a Elite 2 for my PC.
I really just want the back buttons then anything else
On AliExpress it is so much cheaper. with tax in the UK it is today £31 with a code you can find on the AliExpress Reddit before black friday it was £40 ish with tax so I had to jump on that price point after watching this review. I need gyro and well everything else is a plus but can you use it wired if the battery ever degrades?
Hey as far as gyro controllers go is this still worth it? Right now I'm using a steam controller and would try the alpakka but it doesn't have wireless for my use case.
you can test the Burn xbox and ps5 controller because they are not the same❤😅😊
I wonder if ARMOR-X Proworks with Playstation 5
I mean, will the PS5 recognize the gamepad from Microsoft + Armor X as native and will it be possible to play
5:25 is that your PC in the corner looking like a transformer leg 😮
If so you're my new hero 🥲
How long did it take to get your order, iv been waiting 2 weeks and no response from support?
wonder if the motion controls of this armor will work on RE: rev2 on switch, coz that game only accepts the joycon motion controls and not gyro XD
Can you feel if it added any latency?
I dislike how this the buttons are on different sides because now I have to roll my finger
Can you make it go to macro loop? (Repeat the macro endlessly when we are AFK)
Mine's arrive today, quick question do i need the USB dongle on pc? My motherboard have built in Bluetooth.
This video is oldish but can anyone confirm or deny if the paddle system works when the controller is connected via Bluetooth example while playing pubs mobile or cod mobile?
what is the best controller u recommend for a new controller player Adult
PlayStation had one for the ps4 yes I know I am an Xbox guy and I cringe when someone says PlayStation
But it’s 10 dollars it’s uncomfortable but is easy to use and a game changer for me
You think after the whole strike pack thing, that this has a chance of getting banned too? I would assume not since it uses its own dongle but idk. I love them, just don’t want my account banned. Lmao
Just got an Xbox. Tell me if this is true if u find out. I really want the paddles as I hate how low the elite is… so uncomfy but best controller.
On PC, does it still recognize the controller as an Xbox controller even with the dongle attachment?
Is it true that you have to connect it to a PC in order to do some update(s)?
Can i connect my turtle beach headset remote for the control...? Cause the xbox audio kinda suck
Bro you playing the new cod?? Lets play sometime.. i suck and need a good carey
try Mariah
@@Typhus-th6ud hahaa
Can you get banned using this device like when u use the universal strike pack eliminator?
Because i tried using it in a private match just to see if i could use it in standard mode without mods so i could use the 4 backbuttons but after the match ended i immediately got a warning that said next time i would be banned.
So i was wondering if i can use this one instead.
So how exactly does this adjustment the deadzones on the controller i still dont get that
Can you please show me how to use the macros for FORTNITE. For editing?
bro you alwheys make me laugh hahahaah xd
Can these be mapped to any mouse/keyboard input independently? Or they must share an input with the original controller button?
I honestly want to know the answer to that to did you ever find out?
@wolfqueen7574 almost a year and i still don't know
What do you mean?
You should try out moddedzone controllers
I want to put this in my Xbox series s controller can I get banned for it when I play rainbow six?
hey bro can i use this packs on a table or phone ...android.. to be specific..s7 from samsung and redmagic 6 from nubia...
Is there any good controller that can hold a phone vertically for ds emulation?
Mine doesn’t plug in into the xbox 1
I remap buttons constantly and it still works great
I bought the PS4 version as well as the Xbox version
i used to love it untill the greedy masker tried to pull a subscription model on the game packs so now i stay far away from their products
Kind of important, did this get hit by the peripheral ban?
Following this
@JokuYT I would also like to know. Have you used it on a xbox series console lately? Did the update that made 3rd party usb devices stop this thing from working?
How well does the turbo button function
Bruh I asked for this video a week ago and now I'm here lol
My only real complaint with my unit is that yes, the buttons can be very easy to accidentally press. But my xbox guide button also stops being reliable when I have the back button attached. It'll kind of long-press in a weird way
