I'm working in an open plan office. Although some of my co-workers sometimes complain, I like it because it is easy to communicate with each other. Every time I am stuck on a difficult task, I try to get help from them, I guess that's why some of them hate it.
I am a non native and I think British English is far more easier to learn than American English.
Thanks! It was helpful.

I work in a shiftwork system and me and my workmates use a hot desk to work. We share also information on this hot desk. This is very usefull, because we don´t see us every day. The night watch is also sleeping in this room, so we have a "hot bed" *laugh*, no serious we use a bed with different casing for everyone, who has to sleep on work.
Thank you for all your work!
Nice! Thanks for sharing a great response. Here are some tips:
1) It's more grammatically correct to say, 'my workmates and I,' rather than, 'me and my workmates.'
2) 'We also share information..' not, 'We share also information...'
3) '...useful because we don't see each other every day,' not, '...usefull, because we don´t see us every day.'
Hope this helps you!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎄⛄

Our office is an open plan space and we don't have strict dress code. So people can enjoy a rather flexible way of working and clothes wearing. Besides I also love the atmosphere within the team, we don't bother each other so much and we don't do a lot of bonding activities. This way I can plan my time freely and I don't have heavy needs for socializing
Our company went paperless years ago, because many of the time we collaborate between teams and offices spreaded across the country, keeping records digital is more convenient for workers from different locations to access and edit them.
My office has cubical and very less open windows, but very good interiors. After covid once resume office I feel very pleasant. Our office has also a tight security , each internal doors are kept closed and open through employee swipe cards. Additionally all the areas of our office covered through cameras, some time employees not like it due to they watched, but it necessary for safety points.
Great response. Thanks for watching and sharing. Here are some corrections for you:
1) '...has cubicles...' not, '...has cubical...'
2) '...and few open windows...' not, 'less.'
3) '...but a very good interior,' not, '...but very good interiors.'
Hope this helps you!
Hmmm....? what you can make a video about Route Directions like GPS Navigation on the map because I Love GPS Navigation App for additional learning Mathematics😉. I still learning the English Language👍
Thanks for the suggestion. We might be able to do something like this in the future. For now, we do have a listening lesson on this topic. Here is a link: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/giving-directions.
Thanks! 😉
Great
In my first job I had to hot desk. I worked in customer service and we had to maintain 24-hour service, so when one shift finished work, the next shift came in and used the same desks.
Our office was an open plan office. It was quite noisy and it was difficult to focus on work. In my current job we have a very nice break room. It's a pleasant place where we can spend a break, but to be honest I've only seen it in a photo because I currently work from home. My company has a smart casual dress code, but when I work in my home office, I can even work in my pyjamas. I don't have to use a printer in my work. All our records are digital. I'm very happy about this because printers are a constant problem, I like the phrase "they're notorious unreliable" It's hard to say how much time I've lost trying to pull out jammed paper.
Excellent. Thanks for sharing, Zofia. You used some great phrases and vocabulary from the lesson. One tip for you:
'...they're notoriously unreliable,' not, 'notorious.'
Hope this is useful for you!
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1 Thank you for your feedback.❤❤❤
I had worked in a cramped place. We had 5 department for separate room, but no meeting room. And we used our room for meeting every week because it was largest. Copywriter and printer were in my room too. And we also got trouble with paper jam. Thank for reading
Thanks for watching and sharing. Here are some corrections for you:
1) 'I used to work in a cramped place,' is a bit better than, 'I had worked...' if you are talking about something that was true in the past.
2) 'We had 5 separate rooms for the different departments,' not, 'We had 5 department for separate room.'
3) '...no meeting room, so we used our room for meetings every week...' not, '...no meeting room. And we used our room for meeting every week...'
Hope this is useful for you!
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1Hello! Where are new videos? Why don”t you share them anymore on RUclips?
Nice....
Most of the office I work in is open plan but there are also departments in separate rooms. Most people dress smart casual but occasionally it´s possible to wear a casual attire, on Fridays for example. We have heavy-duty photocopiers and printers scattered around the office and our I.T department is supposed to have them fixed whenever they play up.
There´s also a break room where staff can go for a quick cup of coffee or snack. There are cameras monitoring the office and activity tracking software which staff frown upon but nobody has been called out on anything during all the years I´ve been with the company.
Thanks for sharing a great response. Here are some corrections for you:
1) '...to wear casual attire,' not, 'a casual attire.'
2) It looks like you may be using accent marks rather than apostrophes here: 'it´s possible...' and, 'There´s also...' It should be, '...it's possible...' and, 'There's also...'
3) 'Most people dress smart casually,' or, 'Most people wear smart casual clothing,' not, 'wear smart casual.'
Hope this helps you!
I work in a open space, we have different rooms . I have my own place and desk. we have a dinning room, and it possible to meat and have some conversation. ew wear want you want, no dress code or casual dress . we haven't a room photocopier but we continue use paper for working
My office it´s light, modern very big , but it can be noisy because we have to hot desk and there are person
that speak loudly is difficult to focus on my job. I work in an open plan office. Our campany´s quite casual some
people wear suit but in my floor there aren't. We don't have meetings rooms because pandemic moment, we used to have
meeting rooms in the past. In my floor there is a conference room with a big screen an large table.
My office has a lot of security, it has many security gaurds distributed around world. To unlock doors you need to have a registrer of fingerprints
Hi there. Thanks for watching the lesson and sharing your great response! Here are some corrections for you:
1) '...modern and very big, but it can be...' not, '...modern very big , but it can be...'
2) '...and there are people who speak loudly...' not, '...and there are person
that speak loudly...'
3) '...loudly so it is difficult to focus on my work,' not, '...loudly is difficult to focus on my job.'

I work in an open plan office. It’s light and simply designed office, but it can be too quiet sometimes, and it can be hard to focus on my work.
Professional staff hot desks because they work in different locations on different days for different teams. But administrative staff have cubicles because they’re doing routine work.
Our company has a dress code that match to the client you are visiting.
We have some small meeting room in our office. When there is a New Year’s greeting, we need to rent a larger space somewhere else.
Before COVID-19, our office still relies on paper records for many things. But our company decided to go paperless without very important documents recently, so most of records are digital. Eventually it’s very useful because we had to telecommute.
Our office has tight security. Most internal doors are kept locked and you need a swipe card to open them. Riding an elevator is no exception. 🏢
Excellent response. Here are some corrections for you:
1) 'It's light and simply designed, but it...' not, '...It's light and simply designed office...'
2) 'The staff hot desks...' not, 'Professional staff hot desks...'
3) 'Our company has a dress code that matches...' not, 'match.'
Hope this is useful for you!

Hello.
I don't know exactly how to call my office. I work in a very big building with many rooms and offices. I share my office with other three people but since the COVID pandemic and the new problem with energy price whe work at home three days a week.
a lesson on teleworking would be interesting.
Thank you very much for your lessons. Oxford Online English has helped me greatly.
Thanks for sharing! We're so glad you enjoy the lessons. You could call the building an 'office building.'
I work in an open plan office, which can make it hard to focus on my daily tasks. Luckily, we have some cubicles that we can use to isolate ourselves from the others. Before I go to the office, I have to book a desk, which will be reserved for the day and before I can enter the office, I have to swipe my card at the front door. The dress code is casual so we can wear whatever we like and there are no personal offices no matter your role in the company. There are surveillance cameras but I doubt that they ever look at the tapes unless there's a special reason to do so. We also have a conference room for larger meetings.
Great response about your office! Excellent job.

Thanks for sharing your feedback, Harvey. Are you referring to the font size on the white OOE screen or on the video screens?
I work in an open plan office it is light and modern but it can be quite it hard to ficus on my work.
We wear what we want 😏
We have meeting room , copy room and it room
Nice, Shrouk! A few tips:
1) '...quite hard to focus...' not, '...quite it hard to ficus...'
2) 'We have a meeting room,' not, 'We have meeting room.'
3) '...and an IT room,' not, '...and it room.'
Hope this helps you!

Our colleague see each other every time.there is kinda friendly and happiness between us and manager. Sometimes we share our food an fruit together and it causes to establish strong relationship between colleagues.this friendly environment increases the efficiency of the company. Unlike my colleagues i have my own personal office because i'm sensitive to noisy place and i can't concentrate carefully to my task. Additionally we have big meeting room . Beside it our office has a copy room and break room. Our office doesn't reply on paper records so all records are digital.
Our office has lot of security.camers monitor all aeres of the office.

My office is open plan.😁
Hi, please help!
I have this big doubt, what'ss the difference between "closed eyes or eyes closed"? Doesn't the adjective always go before the noun?
I would appreciate your support
It’s true that in English the adjective always comes before the noun. But when the adjective is in the past participle form it can come after the noun thus focusing on the verb/adjective. Eyes closed is a short form of “eyes (that are) closed.
We can say “interesting topics” and also “topics that are interesting” but not (topics interesting).
Whereas we can say “people interested in this topic..”
I hope I’m not wrong in my explanation and that I have made it clearer for you.
Dividing walls can be placed in large workplaces to create…….?

I have worked in a hot desk for eight years. And we have a unraliable printer too, the paper is always jammed inside it. It is a nightmare.
Excellent response about your office! One small tip to make your response even better: '...an unreliable printer,' not, 'a.'
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1 I should'nt make this kind of mistakes!!!That's why I'm repating my advanced course this year.
I work in an open plan office. the space is too much "open " Because it was a shopping mall before , sometime is so far away from my desk to my colleague 's , and no one in my company have a own office even my Boss ,there are many rows of desks in the huge space , people looks like rows of potatoes . we have many meeting room but never enough for our meeting , how to got a meeting room is a important workskill in my company. our dress code is also spacial ,it's not just casual but up to your style, some of my colleague comes to office in Chinese traditional dress just like you saw in the movie..
I worked in an open plan Office of a bank and it had a strick dress code. you had to be dressed smart-lookingly. in my second job, our workplace was so cramped that we had to hot desk. we also had to be dressed smart casual.
Nice response, Fatih. Here are some corrections for you:
1) It's not necessary to capitalize 'office.'
2) 'You had to be dressed smartly,' not, 'you had to be dressed smart-lookingly.'
3) 'We also had to be dressed smart-casually...' not, 'we also had to be dressed smart casual...'
Hope this helps you!

My office in an open plan area. It's light and modern. but it can quite noisy. sometimes it can be hard to focus on my work. Our office is very beautiful, colossal and very gigantic. Our office is quite casual. So people just wear what they want. But you have to dress smartly at all times. Sometimes we have bigger meetings at conference room. We have a copy room with a photocopier and a heavy duty printer. always printer breaks a lot or the paper jammed. our office relied on paper records for many things. So everyone has to know how our filling system works. Recently the office decided to go on paperless system., so now all records are going on digital. Our office has lots of security. Most of external and internal doors are kept locked and we need a swipe card to open them. Because of the only our office members allows to enter the office. Cameras monitor all areas of the office. The office has light security.

1) '...modern, but it can be quite noisy,' not, '...modern. but it can quite noisy.'
2) '...quite casual, so people just wear what they want,' not, '...quite casual. So people just wear what they want.'
3) '...bigger meetings in a conference room,' not, '...bigger meetings at conference room.'

this question related to Subordinate Clauses .
Sir please pay attention to the question,
the example is just to understand the question
Maybe example is not meaningful
Question:----)
In dependent clause
Has the meaning of "there" been changing?
like this sentence which is
As:-- There is my friend.
Here "THERE" is showing location or place If we write the same Sentence in dependent clause
As:- This is the time when "THERE" is my friend.
Does the meaning of THERE change to that of a dummy pronoun due to the presence of subordinate clauses here?
Thank you for sharing the really good information.
