Great video! I think the idea that is complicated is what makes people think is overly complicated. Most of the explanations deal a lot with the idea of things having level. Something that we already know. And that spells have rank. Also something we know. But I think the lenguaje in the book overexplains making it sound too complicated. Is just. Make an spell attack against the target effect DC. And just check the result of the attack against the counteract table. Your GM knows the level of the things. If you have bonues to that attack, add them.
It’s a good thing you did this after the remaster otherwise you would’ve had to say “levels are different than levels”
There are levels 😃and then there are levels😠
Tuberculosis has a level?? Don't tell John Green, he'll start grinding xp immediately
erm it would not be a lot of xp, and would only get less so as they level up
@ oh, i meant grinding xp in general in order to level up, so that counteracting TB gets real easy. DM's gotta be on board though
I felt that "oh no!".
Very common reaction.
Thanks for that video!
That's extremely useful! Thanks a lot for explaining and for the rank/level comparison
I never realized how silly measurements were in Liberia before this video
You've been cranking these out lately, loving it!
Tuberculosis being only level one is mad disrespect to Aurthur Morgan
Everyone gets a string of 1s on the dice sometimes
This would have been good to know when my party was exorcising a devil from a party member and I just made it up on the spot.
Your videos are a godsend switching from 5e. They immediately get sent to the discord.
Thank you! My players were just wondering about this and I didn't quite understand it myself, now it makes much more sense.
I would have zero chance of understanding this without this vid - thank you.
damn that is very coherent and understandable
I love all King Oogatonton videos!
Perfect timing! I just explained those rules to my players 1 week ago.
Excellent video, explains counteracting really well!
Great video!

THANK YOU
ah yes, Liberia
Well of course, who else would use such archaic measurements?
Malaria has a level D:
Does your Shrine of the Crystal Cave feature any toad-turning hags?! =]
Positive comment
Biggest problem is that DCs aren't always easily found.
This is the worst mechanic in the entire game. I hate it SO much
It's a good mechanic, it's the worst explained mechanic by far though. The entire counteract table doesn't help at all and is just confusing
