  • 20 Most Expensive,Beautiful, and Prestigious Neighbourhoods in Africa
    Hello Displorers, welcome back to another exciting video presented to you by Displore and thanks for watching . In this video, we shall be taking you around the beautiful continent of Africa showing you the 20 most prestigious and beautiful neighbourhoods in Africa. The stereotypes that Africans live in hurts, trees and on roof tops is now a myth of the past as recent exposure of the African continent to the world has shown most people in the developed world that some of them cannot even afford living in some of the cities in Africa. Even if you can find somewhere affordable in a city, some neighbourhoods are way off limits if you don’t have a heavy bank account to back it up. The compulsion to escape from the pressures of the modern world to imaginary utopias has long been a lucrative selling point for urban developers and is a true phenomenon in many cities in Africa. The rise in the number of millionaires has led to property boom as they search for their own little ‘utopias’. While you are dreaming big, some people are already living big just by the neighbourhoods they choose to live in.
    If you are new here, welcome, be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss any of our videos.
    If you have a taste for prestigious neighbourhoods and fanciful living, grab your check booklets as we look through the top 20 most beautiful, expensive, and prestigious neighbourhoods in Africa. Offcourse in no particular order.
    20. Cocody ( Abidjan) - Ivory Coast
    This is one of the neighbourhoods to live in for the jet set and elite of Ivory Coast; Cocody has been referred to as the ‘Beverly Hills of Abidjan’ for several reasons. As the home to the cultural elite, embassies, and expats of prominence, the area also offers some of the most spectacular views in the city and is surrounded by other areas that are currently vying to be the next neighbourhood of note in Abidjan. Cocody is beautiful and prestigious and you must have a happy Bank account to afford an apartment in the neighbourhood
    19. Masaki ( Dar Es Salaam) - Tanzania
    Masaki is one neighbourhood in Dar Es Salaam that has emerged as the place to relax in the arms of luxury, with most of the area’s inhabitants high ranking dignitaries and ambassadors from around the world. Those that live in the area are minutes away from international cuisine and a great nightlife that continues to attract more people of affluence to the neighbourhood every year. Securing an apartment is extremely difficult but if your bank account is fully loaded why Not.
    18. East Legon, Ghana
    East Legon is an area which screams affluent by its very look as it is occupied by sophisticated modern low-rise apartment blocks and detached houses. The population here is kept at minimal and the prices both for buying and renting an apartment are extremely high. It is also the safest neighbourhoods in Ghana. East Legon offers a serene environment with the villas so rounded by the lush green trees as well the perfect manicured side-walks. To own a home here will set you back $2 million on average which is why it is inhabited by footballers and Business tycoons.
    17. La Marsa (Tunis) Tunisia
    La Marsa is a coastal town in far north eastern Tunisia near the capital Tunis. La Marsa is a beachfront suburb known for its corniche, shopping, bars and cafes. It is home to a number of villas and apartments that are populated by families. The upscale suburb is approximately half-hours drive from the city. House prices here range from $756 to $1,563 per square metre for rent and buying a house is another story of huge financial cost.
    16. Miramar (Luanda) -Angola
    Luanda has already bagged the title of the most expensive city for expatriates in Africa but then Miramar takes up a notch with well-manicured lawns, palm trees, flowers benches and playgrounds which has become a sure magnet for the rich. Miramar is an exclusive area situated in one of the best neighbourhoods in Luanda, the old cinema. Its major attraction is the Alto das Cruzes cemetery located in the upper town, part of Miramar. It is the most famous cemetery in the city where great people were buried. It is popular with foreign diplomats and extremely wealthy Angolans.
    15. Asokoro (Abuja)- Nigeria
    Asokoro District is home to the Nigerian presidential complex, Nigerian National assembly, the Supreme Court and brags of the best roads and streets in Nigeria. To wake up to the view of the Aso Rock also found here and enjoy the exclusive haven of beauty, you will have to drop a hefty $ 2,612,500. Besides housing the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, it also houses the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS Secretariat, National Intelligence Agency, World Health Organization Office and more. For a Neighbourhood with such entities you need to belong to a particular social class to live there.

      These Africa list compilation channels do rather poor research I've noticed. It's basically just picking random places and pics from across the continent and then claiming it's a ranking list. And it's not just this channel that does this.

      Except that you Black South Africans have little or no stake in it. No use boasting when you are an outcast in your own land. Shameless of the narrator to babble on about south African neighborhoods in which our brethren are strangers. Sometimes we love Egypt so much we don't even think of going to our promised land.

      @@modisaramoleko7220 do your research and stop being ignorant, i have friends whom i grew up with living in sandhust sandton so you want to tell me that they got no say in their own properties are you kidding me? and of course they are black.

    • @modisaramoleko7220
      @modisaramoleko7220 3 года назад +3

      @Sherazade Mayers Not really sure what your black millionaire friends have to do with the 80% of the land being in the hands of less than 10% of the population, or the best.neighborhoods being gated communities not accessible to the black population. But if you are fine with that, then the rest of us in Africa have been bitter over nothing at your apparent mistreatment. Which was precisely my point. Why is the narrator boasting about "white" wealth stolen from the unrequited labour of black South Africans?

    • @modisaramoleko7220
      @modisaramoleko7220 3 года назад +2

      The reading comprehension on this channel is truly abysmal. No one is disputing black wealth. But it's ridiculous for the narrator to gush over white neighborhoods built on stolen black labour and resources as if this is normal and something to brag about. Since you bring up Wode Maya, he pointed out precisely this problem when he was in Pretoria with Miss Trudy - and was trolled for it. Are there super rich neighborhoods in South Africa? Yes. Are they accessible and affordable to the general black population other than self-enriching BEE recipients and tenderpreuneurs? No. South Africa is the most unequal society in the world for a.reason: beautiful gated communities for the over-privileged whites, shanty towns with overflowing sewers for the Blacks.

      @@modisaramoleko7220 Egypt is in Africa. Why don’t certain Africans have stakes in this section of the earth? Hasn’t scientists stated that the first man and woman originated in Africa? Does Nature know skin color? No. Did you know the word “race” was invented just a few decades ago. As you can see, the color of your outer human costume is less important than the persons character, deeds, actions, self-control, self-discipline, and attitude towards others. Judge me NOT by the color of my skin, but by the CONTENT of my character -Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968).

      I'm an American who was just in South Africa and in several of the areas mentioned and I agree with you. For me, South Africa is very inexpensive, and locals told me that I should buy a home there. I moved around the country and spent my final days in Sandton before I left, one thing which struck me is that just down the road from my very expensive hotel were people living in very poor townships, many without electricity. It's very difficult for me to reconcile buying what for me would be an affordable home in an affluent area when people are struggling so badly just down the road. They are houses more expensive in Houghton, Meyersdal, Rosebank and even Haarties just to name a few... It's not really that expensive to live in Sandton. They are plenty more place worth millions al over South Africa.
