This is the most helpful guide on the game and clarifies so much it should be pinned on all relevant forums. I have made it pretty far in an unconventional manner by not defeating any bosses after Konrad. I'm level 20 and I've reached the Desert area. My reason for doing so is to explore and unlock all zone checkpoints first, and avoid spawning red knights and risk gaining entropy to nullify a trophy. I use Eviscerator, and while I kill most trash mobs in a couple hits including the tower ronins, I'm struggling to make a dent on bosses and elites, such as those dual-axe wielding brutes and the fast shadowy ghouls in the Desert. It's just possible I've handicapped myself by having only one unupgraded perk (Vampirism) and only lesser crystals slotted in Mk 4. I wonder if you could help answer some nagging questions and I apologize for the number of them: 1) For 2H melee build, what types of crystal upgrades work best in both armor and weapons? Base damage, attack power, HP/stamina, penetration? I've not found many crystals that aren't of the lesser type so I'm saving those for when I settle on a final armor set/weapon. In the meantime, I'm prioritizing the lesser crystals that add 7.5% base damage. Am I better off diversifying into health and stamina instead, or what crystal mix do you suggest? 2) For a 2H melee build, what weapons have you found effective? Which did you find easier: sluggish or slow two-handers? Or did you find faster one-handed weapons doing better DPS? Feel free to name-drop actual weapons you like. 3) For melee, what rings/amulets/capes did you think really worked well? Should I be mixing and matching light/medium/heavy armor to have a variety of different resistances or is mostly heavy fine? 4) What is a good order of bosses? I would assume the achievement list order makes sense: Konrad --> Plagued Nemesis --> Aberrant Knight --> Silicon Visage --> Nurgei --> Wormlord. What about the optional bosses such as Plagued Revenant in Ghost town? With bosses scaling in difficulty after each one defeated, I wonder if you think it worthwhile killing harder bosses first? 5) How do you kill those blue-sword revenants in the Ghost town crypt/subway? They are one- or two-shotting me, they heal to full, take chip damage, and I can't figure out how to parry their spin-to-win attack. This is the kind of thing I'm struggling to understand what I'm doing wrong. At this point there's no in-between with enemies: either I facetank them and they die in a couple hits or they're absurdly tanky and dangerous. 6) I am worried about spawning red knights, considering how ineffective I am against tougher elites. Do you know if they spawn randomly and how hard are they to defeat or run away from?
First and foremost, thank you for the kind words. A ton of thought went into this one to be as complete as possible. Glad to see people are finding a use for it. Questions: I can see by the nature of your inquiries that you are a person who likes to plan ahead, optimizing. Take it from me, this is not the game where you overprep to make an ideal first run - it's an experience about exploration, where getting surprised is part of its Majesty. That granted, I'll give you some pieces of advice: 1) Apart from the trash (Tire Iron etc.) all Weapons are viable for the entirety of the game, each offering something different. A great one to start is the Claymore, dropped by the Zombie Knights next to the Handler in Blok. Rule of thumb, more DMG on 'em is good, but you might consider putting one Flux & one HP Leech in there. They work wonders for your NG Sustain. 2) You will get most of the recipes required to craft better Crystals via Boss Kills. That means that you are restricting yourself by not bonking them. Yes, you will eventually be dealing with harder enemies, but you will be growing yourself. 3) For Scarfs, the Robin one is overall great for beginners - more Stamina, Crit & Penetration. I HIGHLY recommend you just go with the flow and try to discover as much stuff as possible. The game will reward you. I'm here if you need any help.

If you still get one-shot by the excessively overpowered technomancies with high technomancy resist, then I'll likely stick with heavy armor. Just curious what types of crystals are worth trying first.
Heavy Armour is the worst against Tech. For Crystals, always use a bit of HP Leech. If you are using actives, some Flux Leech as well. Sharp Pen will also do wonders.

Right now, Controller is excellent. I worked with the devs to make sure it's 100% playable, being a controller player for years. PC can push higher frame-rates (up to 90) without much fuss, but it's all about availability. You got a good rig? Get it there. The console versions are absolutely serviceable though. What kind of Build are you looking for?

I’m just looking for some decent build ideas like a good weapon to build around or a good starting build such as single handed with a shield , dual wield or two handed. Those systems might be coming at a later date. Work was done on them, but no concrete aye or nay yet. I suggest you give it a go for what it is atm, since it's excellent.
Don't you worry my man, I'm here. To use a Weapon Ability, first you have to hit the Mk needed to unlock - that means that you go to the Handler, upgrade the Weapon in question and have it equipped. Then, you hold the Modifier Button (mapped to one of your triggers) and as the pallet of shortcuts changes, you'll be able to see the Ability at the bottom-right. Enjoy!
Oh and I think an NPC right after the first boss gave my spear from the first boss an ability? Does he give whatever weapon you have equipped an ability?
@MistaFiOth thanks!! I think I have been spoiled by having thorough guides for all the souls games and such, when I was a kid there were no easily available guides, time to go through Bleak Faith the old way, haha.
I'm trying to get the 'Entropy Resistance' trophy, but there's something I haven't understood. I finished my first run with 7% entropy, and when starting NG+, the value stayed the same. Does this mean that to unlock the trophy, I have to do it with another character?
Materials drop all the time from everywhere, so farming those is not a big deal. The game sports a dynamic loot pool, so if you pick X item here it won't be in another location. There is fixed stuff, but it's not too hard to find. If you need help with anything specific, don't hesitate to ask!
@@MistaFiOth in combat. I've seen videos of other people having 3 and 4 healing potions available. I have killed several bosses and I have levels 22 strength , 22 skill , 5 intelligence and 23 constitution, but I only have 2 healing potions in combat (imagine 🥲)

@@MistaFiOth lol, yeah just now finished the video. I'm loving the game too much. I kept watching your video in like 4 minute intervals when I'd step out for a smoke. I think it's doable, just wasn't sure if it was something I should try tackling after I beat the first boss. Any suggestions?
Once you hit Mk.III with your gear, the Mutated Pooper becomes a pushover. The loot it drops is not a deal-breaker, so don't worry too much about it. Power up a bit, and you'll steamroll it.
I found the HP/Stam/Flux + gems to be underwhelming. I went 15% dmg for every slot with a heavy weapon all life leech with heavy armor only went 18 Con and face tanked the whole game hitting easily over 1k dmg with about 70-100 lifesteal per hit. Currently doing the same with NG+ but I also got bugged, I killed every boss but only received 7 perk points and I did both the optional ones. I went back to every boss arena to double check but the abhorrent knight never game me an essence afaik.
How the hell do i frames work. i just bought it today on PS5. Im coming from years in dark souls and it just makes no sense; i dont know if its bugs or user error but some of the dodges i hit seem to randomly work vs othertimes they just dont
If you’re on the mutated ghoul they don’t help. Come back much later for him. Konrad they dont help much either. You just need to be patient and run in stab and run away. Rolling and dodging works better as your level increases cause agility effects movement speed and all kinds of other factors. If you’re feeling brave there’s a crazy jump with a red cape in the lower monastery that gives a 10% speed boost. I’m still using it late stage. With an agile character I can swing and attack faster than most enemy’s wind up and out roll most attacks now. Just need to get past monastery to grind levels.
@@fateofthevalkyri4886 don’t give up. The game is so worth it. I find the atmosphere so gripping. Lore videos and environmental storytelling really make it come alive.
How do I climb or mantle over stuff? Has it been removed? I can sometimes mantle on some objects but it’s rare. Also when I scan what are all the blue and white icons everywhere?
You mantle by clicking the "Jump" Button near certain obstacles. Doesn't work like in 1.0, where you could climb walls and stuff, that's been removed. The Scanner shows you the approximate location of the Objectives, as well as some interactive Lore Items.
Playing on PS5 and so far it’s pretty enjoyable but I think there’s a glitch. I’ve found multiple shields but none of them will equip in any hand. When I press X to equip on every other item, it works, but shields refuse to. Is there something I am missing here? Also, I’m getting my ass kicked by the mutated ghoul.
That Mini-Boss should be tackled a little bit later, too strong for Mk.I Gear. As for the glitch, I did two runs of the game and never encountered it... try unequipping all Weapons and give it another go. Please not, you can ONLY equip a Shield in any given Set if the Weapon is of the one-handed variety.
@@MistaFiOth right on, so the humanoid knight guy is the intended first boss? That’s where I’m at now. And yeah, no luck on the shields. Unequipped everything and also reset the game, they will not equip in any hand. How necessary are they though? I seem to be doing alright with this dual wield build so far. Do you know if there’s an email for the dev? Would love to reach out to them and congratulate them, game is cool, but also let them know about the shield glitch.
That's an insane undertaking for a person alone, and would take me a week just to edit the footage. What I can tell you is that the Loot Pool is dynamic - if you get X Weapon here, it won't be at Y location, and Y location's Loot will be replaced with a consumable or craftable. If you explore, you will be able to get around 90% of the stuff via standard observation.
@@OscarGiudici Vermilion Knights will start spawning once you clear any of the two main objectives. You'll know them when you see them. The Plague Nemesis (a Boss) and the final Boss are the other two dangerous foes.
Basically, there are certain types of enemies you will encounter in the game that will give you Entropy upon killing you. So, to get the achievement, you have to make sure you don't die too often to those enemies.
I want everyone to know. The game is still pretty dang janky. If you want a big game with intense atmosphere and enjoyable exploration you should get it. It's not your average soulslike though. It's much more of a dungeon crawler. You'll be getting new equipment pretty often and there are alot of stats to mess around with. The leveling is also much more straight forward.
I died just before getting to second last boss so missed a perk. On new game plus after beating first boss I could not use it's perk to fully upgrade. Am I screwed now

@MistaFiOth omg, thank you so much! It actually doesn't show them on the bottom right, but I figured it out by holding LT and pressing buttons 😂 I really appreciate it!
@@MistaFiOthdo I have to dismantle it first or something? I tried looking for the option in her menu but I didn’t see anything. I have found 3 handler echoes so far
The surefire way is right before the last Boss. It'll be easier if you watch my second stream, the one I have a 2/2 in the name. Basically, as you come up to the very last homunculus, you can take a sharp right and drop down. Drop down a second time and you will be inside the wall, with a lever and a body holding the Weapon and Reinforced Bone Armour.
Handler Echoes come from a dynamic pool If you loot one from X point, it won't be in Y point and vice versa, until you have them all. The Desert Mirage, where you fight the Wormlord and Yaroslav's chamber are two very easy pickups. Did you get those?

Once you hit Mk.III with your gear, the Mutated Pooper becomes a pushover. The loot it drops is not a deal-breaker, so don't worry too much about it. Power up a bit, and you'll steamroll it.
@@MistaFiOth copy that.
I appreciate it man.
And I appreciate the quick response. I know where to come if I have more questions.
@MrOzak45 my pleasure! Glad to be able to help more people enjoy this unique gem of a game.
Any combat tips? The first tree boss is very tough. The mobs are easy.
Don't try to fight it during the Mk.I phase. You can come back later.
@@MistaFiOth Thanks! What is the Mk I phase? Is that like "New Game" versus "New game Plus"?
@@kungstu22 nope. It's the Level of Gear that you have access to. Once you are Mk.II or higher, this enemy is a joke.
@@MistaFiOth Appreciate it. I am liking it so far. Reminds me a lot of Hellpoint, which was an indie fave of mine.
Did you beat the Unknown? It's after the Anomaly.
How the hell do i frames work. i just bought it today on PS5. Im coming from years in dark souls and it just makes no sense; i dont know if its bugs or user error but some of the dodges i hit seem to randomly work vs othertimes they just dont
Welcome to the fold! Are you, per chance, wearing the Tactician's Amulet?
If you’re on the mutated ghoul they don’t help. Come back much later for him. Konrad they dont help much either. You just need to be patient and run in stab and run away. Rolling and dodging works better as your level increases cause agility effects movement speed and all kinds of other factors. If you’re feeling brave there’s a crazy jump with a red cape in the lower monastery that gives a 10% speed boost. I’m still using it late stage. With an agile character I can swing and attack faster than most enemy’s wind up and out roll most attacks now. Just need to get past monastery to grind levels.
@@alexalexander1772 good tips!
@@fateofthevalkyri4886 don’t give up. The game is so worth it. I find the atmosphere so gripping. Lore videos and environmental storytelling really make it come alive.
Playing aside my bro and I can’t lvl is there a npc I missed somehow?
Nope, it's in your Character Menu. You need to hit "Apply" after you are done.
@@MistaFiOth hmmmm I’ve only found one place where I could mantle on something, everywhere else nothing happens.
@Mohgenstein weist - high objects can usually be climbed this way. If you perform a normal jump, it's not climbable.
i can't find the respec potion on my second playthrough? anyone know where it is
It's the very first Body you find on the starting bridge. Monastery Lower.
I will relay the glitch situation, don't worry about that. If you want to get in touch, they answer all messages in their Discord!
Please make a video to all weapon location
That's an insane undertaking for a person alone, and would take me a week just to edit the footage. What I can tell you is that the Loot Pool is dynamic - if you get X Weapon here, it won't be at Y location, and Y location's Loot will be replaced with a consumable or craftable. If you explore, you will be able to get around 90% of the stuff via standard observation.
So I guess the evolved halbred moved from the sewers on me? I've farmed the 1 guy that carries it for hours..lol
Is there ANY way to undo perks now? Not even a one time thing? That's so dumb
One reset available at the beginning of each cycle. You get the Asylum Brew from the first corpse.
@@MistaFiOth thank you!!!! God bless you sir. I must have missed it
@@MistaFiOth so you don't get it on NG? Just NG+?
Yup.
What are your top 5 fav weapons?
I dont understad entropy, how it works?I saw that there is a trophy for finish the game under 1%
Every time you get killed from a Vermilion or Plagues Entity, you get 0.5% Entropy. Two death, you miss the Trophy. Careful!
@@MistaFiOth I'm just at the beginning so bear with me, what are vermilion and plague entity?
Fair points, although it's not nearly as janky as it used to be.
@@MistaFiOthhow’s the jank level compared to hell point and even the new lords of the fallen when it first came out?
Well, Hellpoint was super janky when it came out, but got fixed pretty nicely as well. Depends on when you played.
Just started today habe no clue how to get perks or use weapon abilities
That's why you are too bored to watch the video mate. Watch, and then you'll know.
The Sabre says it has an abilitly but now sure how to use it
It says it has it, but you have not unlocked it yet. They usually unlock at Mk.III
Thabk you
Where do I get the mk3 stuff. Imagine after first boss
You need to give the Handler two Echoes to get from MkI to MkIII.
I died just before getting to second last boss so missed a perk. On new game plus after beating first boss I could not use it's perk to fully upgrade. Am I screwed now
Hmmm... that's strange. You need to get the Perk you actually missed to be able to apply it. Did you beat The Unknown in NG+?
Awe okay I need to kill the one I missed gotcha. Thank you
@jessewood8193 my pleasure! Stick around for more!
Is it worth $35? Or should you wait for discount?
It's worth being priced more. Devs are not greedy. Trust me, you're gonna experience something special.

The most important was the elevator glitch in Vermilion Fields.
Is there anything to make NG+ worth playing? I started it up and it's way too easy so far
The Bosses hit REALLY hard. Definitely worth playing.
@@MistaFiOth really? I just beat the 2nd boss and it feels like a victory lap so far
What kind of Build are you running?
@@MistaFiOth I switched to a dual wield attack speed combo build from an evolved spear crit build (which made it even easier lol). I wish I did a deflect build tho
@QuantumTelephone you can deflect even without a Shield.

How do I change the tacticians amulet? I don’t see the option
The Handler with Manufacture the rest of the forms, you can't do it yourself.
@@MistaFiOthdo I have to dismantle it first or something? I tried looking for the option in her menu but I didn’t see anything. I have found 3 handler echoes so far
Don't dismantle it or there will be nothing to transform. It should be the bottom row in the Handler's Menu.
@@MistaFiOthbut the amulet doesn’t show up in her upgrade menu. That’s the issue I’m having
@kiddcamel I get that, but I've never seen it happen. Replayed ringing on stream, the options were there. You can check it for yourself if you want.
Where can I find the marrow ??? Please

Wheres the 5th mk?
Handler Echoes come from a dynamic pool If you loot one from X point, it won't be in Y point and vice versa, until you have them all. The Desert Mirage, where you fight the Wormlord and Yaroslav's chamber are two very easy pickups. Did you get those?
Looks like Remnant wtf
Hmmm... in what way?

Remnant's UI is way flashier I think.
