Another fine edumacation vidjo. Seriously, very detailed and well explained. Looks like a lot of the handsets we have at work (and few in my basement). Thank your for your time doing these. OMG - RUclips has started showing me Schlage advertising.
Jason, you are such a great teacher. im a locksmith and when i come across something im unfamiliar with, i always check your videos. thanks for passing down all your years of knowledge.
More excellent Schlage training. Thank you for this and all of your videos. I learned a very long time ago how hardened grease will stop things from turning and how important lubrication is.
Hi Jason. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. So many differences from the A series. And a new stabby tool and ring turner thinger combined. I'm learning mucho morer.
That D series Crown style was part of Schlage's handcrafted line, which IMHO was the pinnacle of cylindrical locks. They had cast knobs and roses, and super heavy duty compared to the stamped out knobs and roses that are far more common. As time marched on, the tolerances seemed to get looser and looser, and the newer D series locks just dont have the tight feel that the old ones do. Thanks for the video!
I've been waiting for one of those center doorknob re-keys. I've seen two houses in town with them. Now I'm going to make an extension link snake at the shop when I get back Lol!
133 1/2" extension -- what kinda door is that? (LOL) ----- I've put ASSA Schlage format KnK cylinders in these D Series cylindrical locksets for much Higher Security; works perfect -- I love these "Battleship" locks, especially vintage ones -- Thanks for the video, GOOD JOB !!!
Hi, Jason, hope your family are doing well. I apologize for not keeping up with your videos. I'm not sure if you guys know that my daughter passed away from colon cancer. Please say hi to Kim for me. Love you guys.
The Schlage D-Series knobs are now discontinued.
Did they! Wow… end of an era there!
everything below the new AL-X line, and basic residential grade is gone.
At 300-400$ a lock who can afford them, All anyone wants these days is the junk you find at Home Depot or Lowes
I've been looking for a 133" backset for years...now I finally found the solution. Thanks Jason! 😁

Schlage is not the only one to make extension links, I have seen Yale, Corbin, and Challenger with extension links up to 21 inches
Another Great Class 👍 ThAnK YoU !

That was really good and index thank you did a great job keep up the good work on the videos. No I’ve got to get back to work.
Jason is D-man !!!
I had never seen that large a backset before lol.
I had no idea there were extensions things.. can we somehow use them for a 133 inch long range RAGRADS trigger?
We don’t have anything like that here in Alabama... Very interesting though
If anything, Jason, I'm up to doing a sort of collab with you for the Schlage E-Series cuz I have studied the mechanism as best I can

But the key is upside down on the reinstallation! 😝
refers to A series video "I am the asshole" ;)

I need to unlatch my door from the other side of the house. How many extensions is possible to connect and still work i wonder.
133 1/2” is my new record, last attempt a few years ago was only 104” 😂
