10 thumbs up for the no-nonsense tutorial! Thank you for saving me time. I just wish I had watched this before others; that would have saved even more time.
Great video, had no idea what bouncing was. I've had this for so many years and every time I try to use it I get so frustrated even after watching different tutorials. This should help a lot though, thanks! 🤘🏼
This is like magic for someone who learned on a cassette machine. Not only does it preserve what's on the track you're bouncing to, but tracks 3 & 4 being stereo, this is functioning like a 6-track tape machine (actually 8-track during the bounce). Maybe that's why the name is DP-006. Even though I use computer DAW now, this makes me want one of these just for the novelty of it.
I think the two stereo tracks are indeed why they named it 006. Plus you can keep bouncing so you can basically have infinite tracks. I have daws but I actually use this more because I can always export the tracks to a daw later if I want to. As long as the quality (16/44.1) is good enough for the project. It's perfect for making demo tracks away from the studio. It's a lot less of a loss than an interface and laptop if something bad happens to it. Thanks for watching.
I would give this a thumbs up even if I had no idea what he was talking about or didn’t have this device. He’s like that embracing teacher we hopefully all had at some point in our childhood.
You’re fun to listen to! I’ve got one these and I bought for pocket sampling (I’ve got a Flagship Tascam 24 and a Bluebox and, this is important, every 1/8 and 1/4 cable and adapter, splitter made! The actual process of recording takes preparation! Ty for the video! I hope to hear more from you!
Thank you very much you have explained this very well and in great detail and simplified this for me and I appreciate your friendly and enthusiastic approach. I’ve seen other videos which really fail to explain the basics of this machine but I have definitely grasped it now. Cheers mate 🏴
Thanks so much for these videos, Studio on a Stick! The manual for this machine confused me at many turns. Your videos are straight & clear. I've got a handle on this digital recorder now.
Easy to use, sounds great, and you can get em pretty cheap used. Highly recommend the dp-006. Great video, thanks for sharing the knowledge! I didn't know you could do this!
I just craved something like my old Tascam 144(I think). Anyway Ijust bought it on the strength and descriptions of it’s funcionality. I’m eagerlywaiting it’s arrival!
Hi Studio on a Stick, ive been recording since the 60s i have just started getting latency using my electric guitar into the 14" input of my dp03 and cant figure out why,all the settings look ok,i have had this and my dp02 for years its the first time this has happened, great video's by the way much clearer than the tascam book
I had to set the inputs to A-A or B-B for the pan settings to show up in bounce mode when recording to a single input even though I have 3 and 4 set to stereo.
thanks! i forgot how. i will never record on anything else in my life if i can help it. i even use the internal mic all the time~as well as the clean guitar in. sounds fuckin great
i have a question, after you’ve recorded to channel four, is the volume and panning changed to suit what the settings already are on that channel, or is it kept the same?
So you can record on all four tracks, and then bounce all of the tracks (including the already-recorded 4th track) onto track 4? And then the same thing can be done with tracks 1, 2, and 3 onto track 3?
That's right. You just have to make sure that your levels are strong, not clipping of course, but up there. The bounced track(s) have a tendency to dip a bit. Thanks for watching.
Hello! Please write, is it possible to add a previously recorded track to the mixing path on this device? (let's say the track that I want to add to the mix was recorded on another device and subsequently added to the Tascam DP-006 memory card). Thank you very much!
A couple of reasons would be to separate a stereo pair, left and right, or to place a track in the stereo field for effect. For instance, sometimes two guitars are panned to varying degrees to give them a bit more of their own place in the mix.
@@StudioonaStick thanks I appreciate the info. Your videos are the only ones that I have learned from ! Your way of explaining things is down to earth and easily understood. Thanks and take care !!
@@StudioonaStick do you have any videos for editing tracks with the Dp06 ??? I don’t fully get how to add in parts or silence parts of a track. A video on that would be a tremendous help for us that don’t know what their doing when it comes to editing. Thanks again
@@chrismcentire1354 I was going to ask the same thing. I gather from the manual that one can silence and/or cut parts of a track. Can one also paste parts in? I mean, I wonder if I can inset a new section into a previously-recorded song.

That was awesome and very well explained. Thanks for the video 😉

thanks for the tutorial. i'm too broke to buy a dp-008 at the moment so i'll be bouncing for the meantime
Ok. I just made a comment on another video you did. This video answered my question. Thanks 😂

what a great tutorial! wow.
Just bought one, thank you for the clear and basic steps. Now if you could do a video on the ORG24, I would be in business.

Will bouncing tracks impair quality, please?

Can I use just the internal mics and still record on all 4 tracks?
Two tracks at once max.
Thanks for watching.

What’s the reason for panning a track ????

How do you get songs off it besides a computer? Can you send it to a phone?
Omdss ty I was lost
How do you erase what you’ve recorded on bounce mode
