Awesome cover man! Do you mind if I ask what kit you were using , was it the new Black kit they added in the summer update? If not mind sharing what you used? I"m a PMP owner and huge Metallica fan- one of the reasons I got into drumming actually! Keep up the playing. and I too have a hybrid setup going- I use a TD-25 module I had to run midi out to SD3 though in combination with my PMP for extra pads/cymbals. Working my way up to a Danney Carey capable kit haha. I was sending it in to the 8 Midi aux ports on the Pearl but was kind of frustrated that the Mimic doesn't midi through those 8 extra pads. Maybe I'll get a midi splitter so I can send signals to both the PMP Midi in and my computers MIDI in- best of both worlds lol
Hey, thank you! I'm actually using samples imported from the Rooms of Hansa SDX, snare and kick are layered with some on board mimic instruments to fill out the low end. Yeah lack of midi through is annoying, I have to use a midi merger if I want to send everything to sd3. I do that less these days, now that we can import multilayer samples to the mimic 😎
@@ArgonautDrums Thanks for getting back to me! Is importing samples from SDX into Pearl mimic something that can be done in a couple hours or is more of a "weekend project" or "week long project" kind of thing? I've only seen some brief examples of it from EDW's youtube
@@skirwan78 you can crank out a whole kit in like 30 minutes. I made a quick how tow tutorial with SDSE (Lustark is in the process of updating the tool with mimic specific settings) ruclips.net/video/GrwNli46GaU/видео.html
Congrats! How did you manage to have so many pads and cymbals with the Mimic? Did you have to split some inputs and get only a single zone from each pad?
Hello there! I'm maxing out the aux inputs, then Im using an edrumin10 to trigger mimics virtual inputs over midi. I'm not a fan of splitting pad inputs, you lose zones and you can't hit two pads at the same time if they're split from the same input.
@@ArgonautDrums Thanks for the explaination. For those pads that are connected to the mimic through the edrumin10 device, do you have full control of their settings (sound, triggering, zone, effect) just like the pads that are connected directly to the mimic, or their settings are limited?
@@kt-nf2jx the edrumin software has a lot of settings to dial in the triggers. You have to hook it to a computer initially to set it up and make adjustments, set the midi notes to the mimic's, etc. It gives you a bunch of graphs to visualize the changes you make as well. Once you get it triggering how you want, it saves to the edrumin device. Took me maybe an hour to get 4 pads set up
I will try on my electroacoustic drum set ,, great job , that set its awesome...One more suscriber,.....

Sounded awesome. Great work.
How loud is the kit in the room? You know the sticks against cymbals and such.
That was funktastic! Great cover and top notch playing! Love your display! New sub here!

Great cover !
You like A yeon ?
Thanks!
She's a solid drummer
I know you have a video where you go over a single cymbal for your set up, but can you do a video about what you did for your hi-hat?
Yep, it's in progress 🙂
Hihat video is up.
