I just received my R7 (still in the box). I’m a beginner so this was more than helpful. I understand the most basic functions and their names so didn’t understand all of this YET, but am looking fwd to the adventure of learning it. Thanks so much. Fantastic video.
Im just about to head out on a 6 week tour of Europe, by train, staying at hostels. You just gave me a great idea, with the file naming option. I think I will change the file name prefix with every country that I travel through. Yeah, that's a great idea! thanks for the video!!
Thanks. I have an R7 and new R5. I couldn't find the AF thing where you can slide the focus point around on the screen while looking through the VF on my R5. Hugs to you because you solved it. So, thanks again.
I used the r7 for video but could not control the audio levels. It was grayed out. Where are the manual recording levels? Thank you for this video Vanessa. 😊
Love it. Thanks Vanessa!. I don't yet have a R camera. Menu is similar to my 90d and M50. There is just a lot more options. Another lens mount is holding me back. I do need to upgrade at some point.
nice to see you don't use back button focus with AFON but half press shutter. having a7iv and a7rv, i was hesitating. BBF allows easy recompose by releasing AFON button. I would be interested to see how, on canon for you, with half press, you focus and recompose like AF-S (focus hold button on lens ? AF/MF selector,...) especially not only for portrait for which eye detection does the job.
Thank you Vanessa ! However, in af-c, if you half press and move camera, it focuses on new object. Except focus hold on lens button,... i don't clearly see how to recompose in AF-C with half press
I have a Canon 60 D and was happy with it but after 10 years I wanted to up date and get a new camera that would take better picture so I just purchased the Canon EOS R7 and have not used it yet. I only shoot on AF and I'm happy with the quality of the picture and take some video once in awhile. I don't know if I made the right choice as this camera is smaller in size and not that comfortable to hold due to the smaller grip. I have been looking for a Battery Pistol Grip for the R7 and told Canon does not make one for this camera. Could you suggest a 3rd Party Battery Pistol Grip that I could purchase for this Camera? I really enjoyed your video and will watch it many times to set my camera up.👍
I love my new R7. She will be my cute new travelcompanion. No arguments, no drama and she’ll create the memories i want from traveling.
Exactly!

Glad it was helpful!

Glad I could help ☺️
Thoughts on -- R9 - RETRO OF THE F-1 with the Olympic Paris symbol and the winder grip -- that would be awesome!!!
Thank you. I need this for my R7.

If it was grayed out try changing the camera’s exposure mode - there’s something there that’s making it stay in auto

All you need is an adapter...

Same thing except I half press and then recompose- AI servo helps ☺️

Well done. Thank you.
My pleasure!

Not sure about third party grips for that camera :-/
@@VanessaJoy Any suggestions on a Battery Pistol Grip if not a 3rd Party? it seems others are looking for the same thing.
Great video
Thanks!
