I found this guy about 4 days ago on his “goodbye” video, now I watch him whenever he get recommended so I can boost his algorithm. I hope he keeps processing for his family, love this guy.
So kind of you, thanks.
Man love how straight forward and quick pace. Your work is appreciated!
Hi Mark- yesterday I bought an R7 (was using a M50 MII) and a lens to do wildlife. 100-400 mm Canon lens. I sure appreciate all your guidance from the M50 MII and now the R7. I hope you are well! Beth
Hi Mark, Excellent video. Do you have any light mounted on the camera, or just the overhead light in the room? Thanks.
I would love to see test footages while you show lenses or filters and what it can do so that i can make my decision to buy it or to list it down to buy it in future. Love your work . Thank you.
hi, is it the same lens hood in the desc that you use on the sigma lens or is that different?
Lovely, I have added the screen protectors in my basket. Already got the cage recently and I think for now a microphone is next before the gimbal. Nice video
Great video, can I ask how well does the 18-35 1.8 sigma work with the IBIS in the R7? Some people say it doesn't work at all, others say it works like any native canon lens.
Excellent video for options to possible add on to the Canon R7. I like the pace and your information is too the point and not a lot of fluff to the purpose of your video posting. You provided some good accessories and first person knowledge for mostly pro’s of the possible add-on’s. One caveat is the ending I thought was a bit Cluckey to how the rest of the video was presented. Otherwise excellent for providing options to use with the R7. By chance do you ever use a wireless remote device for hands free operation of the camera and how well they will work? I believe the ones I have seen on websites are Bluetooth models. Thanks best to you and other postings. Really liked this one!
Thanks great video. My Amazon cart just ballooned!
Hello Mark, i need your help if is it possible..
Recently i sold my Lumix S5 because i don't like so much the AF and also, is not-necessary ( to me ) have an a fullframe camera.. ( atleast, at the moment )
So, like i said, i sold it, and then , now i have money to get another camera..
I am looking for the best money/quality camera, as usual.. that's what all we want..
Then, watching YT vídeos i find this one and i have doubts about wich cameras i should buy, Canon Eos R7 and Sony Zve10..
I can buy the sony about 650€ plus 500 more or less about 11mm f1.8 lens.. 1150€ +/-
Then the Canon is about 1550€ body+18-150mm+EF adaptor + 2battery extra. ( i want to sold the 18-150mm after then buy the 16mm f2.8 )
What do you think.. wich one do you recommend more..
The money is not the problem because i sold the S5 more than the price of the canon.. so i can buy one of this without problem..
thanks!
Wish you covered a flash. Would the canon el100 be a good option for amateur stuff?
I just got an adapter for my canon fd 50mm to go on my r7! I have used my Helios 44-2 on my r7 and want to use it more as well :) it’s a lot of fun for interesting video and shots 😊 I am using two adapters tho so I might eventually get the adapter for 42 mounts that you linked. Thanks!
Do you have a video on the adapter filter system?
What would be the biggest advantage of that system over something like the old fashioned cokin system in front of the lens and a control ring adapter?
Yes, there is one on the channel.
Thanks for another great video Mark! One question: here in the Melbourne suburbs, clicking through the mic link took me to an Amazon page with several different models...do you recommend a specific model? Thanks again!
Yes, that happens "Deity D4" (not D4 mini or D4 duo), you should see the gain knob on the back of the mic in the photos. (also not D3 or D3 Pro)
Is the Sirui sh25 tripod suitable for Canon R7?
Wonderful video.!
bought this screen protector (protection glass) : it's great !
Great Video!😊
Thanks!
Sigma 18-35 have a very noise autofocus. How do you use it with microphone?
Does the bigger camera have space to carry some food and drinks? Than on a longer trip/hike you only need 1 bag to carry around. Thnx for this great review btw!
Great Video Man . New Subscriber
Many thanks for the list. If i buy, i will use your links.
Thanks, very kind of you.
liked & subscribed .. these are important informations for me as a one week R10 owner 😀
Hey, wow an R7 from my favorite ef m reviewer (m6ii owner here). I just got an R7 despite me wanting to boycott the R mount until Canon allows 3rd party lenses. Well, the adapter let’s me use my ef lens fine (also have a 6d) so went for the R7 for the animal eye focus. I find the Sigma 150-600 works just fine too. I gotta look at that strap system.
Hi, I’m also an m6ii owner. Have you found the change to the r7 a worthwhile upgrade? I cant change cameras often(£$), so it would be a big investment for me. Have you found any drawbacks after getting the r7 over the m6ii?
@@neil2252 sorry I am slow on the answer. The R7 has a number of advantages in that the animal eye focus and such is a game changer for me. It really nails the focus on birds for me. Even with a sigma ef mount lens. The battery is great, the size is more ergo and two card slots. If I was limited in funds and not into animals I wouldn’t have much reason to upgrade I guess.
Sigma ASPC lenses with r mount in July 2024, Tamron lenses as well in mid/late 2024 . This is absolutely sure.
Great video. I am looking to buy this camera like my 1st camera. thank you ! GOD bless you !
For the small rig tripod, do I also have to purchase the small rig frame thing that goes onto your camera in order to put my camera on this tripod? As you can tell I’m very green in this field
No, it comes with a standard Tripod Plate.
My next lens is going to be the Sigma for my R7. Have you had problems with the auto focus on the EFS adapter? I keep hearing differing reports some say yes others say no.
I just got an r7 and the sigma 150-600 ef mount adapted works very well, better than I have been led to believe.
It’s a great combo with the R7, but when I use it with the 7.1 adapter the auto focus is obnoxiously loud, so as long as you’re not using a shotgun it’s awesome
What about batteries that are not on the list?
thanks for the R7 accessories, love them. To bad there is no RF-RF Adapter for the Drop-In Filters, I would get on in a second. Really can't understand why no manufacturer is doing those?
You mean like the Canon or Meike EF to RF drop in adapter?
Hi - can you share what the "Favorite Tripod (more compact, for travel)" is? I didn't see a link above for that one....? Thanks! Nice video!
Sorry I missed that one! - here it is - www.ulanzi.com/products/ulanzi-coman-lightweight-travel-tripod?_pos=1&_sid=05f0906fc&_ss=r&aff=602
@@markwiemels Thanks so much!
@@markwiemels Thanks! Bought the screen protectors off your link. Appreciate your content!
How about a vertical / battery grip?
Unfortunately, the R7 will never have an official battery grip from Canon. However if you simply want the extended battery life from the grip, you can get a custom one made
Speedbooster!
Hi what about flash??
This is what I use - geni.us/8ae1k
I hope to buy R7 for my work painting and printmaking doing videos indoors in a small room. I am looking at Prime lens 16mm and Sigma 18-35mm. The list is beneficial.
I’ve had several DSLR’s starting with the 30d and never used a screen protector and never damaged one.
This is like the, I don't wear a seatbelt, because I have never been in an accident argument. It's cheap insurance and keeps the camera looking new for resale. A pack of 3 is under $10.
yea no one cares
Maybe your camera arent touch screen.🫠
K&F not good enough needs to be Hoya or Urth. Kood Quick release strap. Spare battery!
When I put a screen protector on, I can’t fold the screen in all the way it doesn’t lay completely flat. Is this normal with a screen protector on? It went on seamlessly and was on perfectly straight
This is normal. The rubber bumpers on the body now hit the projector, making it still just slightly out on the one side.
I would worry more breaking the hinge, never scratched or cracked a screen since my 30d.
Did someone ever break, scratch or otherwise damage the screen of their camera in normal use?
All the time, it's the most common camera damage and repair. It should be noted, the screens are not the high tech super hard glass like phones, they are much more fragile.
I damaged the screen on a 7d ii a few years ago, but it was the least of my worries since I had dropped it and the entire camera split in half.
No and I’ve had several
No
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Not trying to be rude but who is this video for? The person buying a $1500 - $2000 camera as there first camera? Honestly was looking for some next level gear to use. Most people buying this camera will probably be upgrading from something like an m6.
There is a law a diminishing returns, for me, the gear in this video sits at the point where the gear starts to get much more expensive, but not much better. Which is where I think the R7 sits as well. So I could recommend more expensive gear, and I have more expensive gear, but I think this gear pairs up will with the value of the R7.
@@markwiemels understandable. That's pretty much what happens when you start creeping into the upper levels of anything. The more you spend doesn't necessarily correlate with value added. BTW I did like the ND/ filter adapter that sits between the lens and sensor. I just wanted more of that like a good fluid head, matte box, telly converters, reflectors, ect...
@@blackduncan9812 yes, that adapter has been great.
@@markwiemels Absolutely spot on. And I'm someone buying a $1500 first camera and these accessories are of proper value. Will buy almost all of them. If I could afford next-level gear than I rather buy a next-level camera.
IN NO WAY WHAT SO EVER - NENER EVER wipe dirt off of your lens with your T SHIRT !!! It is probably not clean anyway so it wraps dirt, dust, sweat, maybe some oil, etc. on the front element glass of your lens!!! Plus, it is made of cotton (hopefully, at least use cotton) FIBER which makes MICRO SCRATCHES on the glass.
Instead, you should use only a MICROFIBER CLOTH to clean your lens!!! the MICRO fibers do not scratch the glass!!!
Before you explain things and continue complaining that this item i cant show you, that i cant show yout...put in mind to shoot them before the video
nice money grab. screen protector and uv filer? you should sell cell phones 🙄
You mean $10 accessories that can protect from $100’s, if not thousands of dollars in damage, without the loss of function or image quality? Yah, helmets and seatbelts are just a money grab too.
you do understand how youtube works right? seems not
