Oh my goodness!! Mr. Finch puts out some of the best (If not the most entertaining and enjoyable) golf content on RUclips. However, in my opinion this video will help a mid to high handicapper (Like myself; a 17 handicap) more than anything on RUclips today. If you follow this putting regiment, plan on 2+ hours to begin and a sore back from bending over and placing over 200+ golf balls to putt. I can promise, you will see results very quickly!! I have done this religiously, daily for 3 weeks now and have seen amazing improvement! I have dropped an average of 6 putts per round (4 rounds played) and I now make 95%+ of my putts from 10 feet or less! Thanks Pete for your amazing content!
Love the studio and your enthusiasm and the drills , have watched all your putting videos over the last 2 years - that’s how desperate I am to improve my putting.
Some excellent tips, guess I’ll be spending the rest of my day drawing white lines on the old hallway mat and cutting a tee out of a piece of 3mm ply. Never thought off using my laser line or my builders line. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Peter, some great advice that's easy to follow. I have the putt-out mat and the perfect putt stress builder and getting 10 out of 10 is quite a challenge! The video was also fun to watch and in these lockdown times that is also much appreciated.
Great video , i think this will really help out in the long run. I have dug a putting hole in the middle of my garden but the ground is not level so not so easy but keeps me busy ⛳
Made me smile Pete with the 2 ball gate drill . . . . . a couple of Centimetres on each side - think you meant Millimetres. I can manage the gap with Cms but cut it to 5 mm each side & it starts to get tight 🧐
Peter Finch Golf we are all missing it man. Build stages for events so that’s all a bit dead at the minute but I should come out of this with a tiger roll
I bought a Puttout trainer and putting mat roughly a year ago, and sadly they sit in my office used far less than they probably should. Good inspiration to start using it more often!
Fantastic keeping me sane at this time....went back and watched some of your older videos and the progress is just phenomenal!!!! Keep them coming please
Simple , efficient and easy to do !!!! Take a shoes box (from Adidas shoes😁) make a rat hole a little big than a golf ball in one of the shortest side of the box. Place it on a smooth mat in a flat surface . Place I string on top of the box perfect on the center of the hole using a paperclip and in the other side of the mat do the same using another box or something higher, what isn't going to be on your putting way... Then putte to the hole using the string as a alignment.....
Great video, I had the mat and pressure trainer but have ordered a T-Line and lazer. One other thing to add is read Dave Peltz putting bible, changed the way I thought about putting and how I read greens. Decelerating into the ball, can't agree with that, if I was you I'd be using the practice time to weed that out. Not too many ball games where decelerating is the correct technique, but as we see on TV theres many ways to master this game.
It changed my putting for the better doing fast and short on the way through, straightened me up and distance control is so much better. Along with changing to right hand below left.
Laser or string, which do you prefer? I'm thinking I could use the laser to check my accuracy of lining putts up. Awesome video as always. Loving the inventive solutions to practice. keep em coming 😀
Nice Putting Regimen there Pete! Always enjoys watching your video & Rick...especially during this Corona pandemic. Lucky for us here in Texas some courses are still open. Anyway you could sell me one of your "Putter collection" - EVNRoll....LOL :)
Peter, have you noticed if the mat has developed a groove yet? I was going to order one and I've seen several reviews that complain about a groove developing rather quickly that affects the ball roll.
Hey Pete, loving the lockdown videos. I also have one of the puttout pressure trainers and completely agree with how frustrating they are. Hope it will all be worth it once we're back on the course.
@@peterfinchgolf do you have a video explaining a bit more on putter tempo? You mentioned it here but I would like to know more. I just got a second hand Odyssey O-Works versa 7 and as a high handicapper I'm trying to focus on the weak points in my game.
Interesting vid with some great practice tips, what’s really interesting is how different your technique and philosophy is, can’t believe you slow down / decelerate into ball ! I prefer little - big ie accelerate through ball which helps with feel on distance. But hey just shows there are lots of different options, keep up good work I always enjoy your vids. Neil
Great set up cheers for that Pete. I have the putt out set just not getting much time to use it as still working.i also have one of the blast sensors used to be use it quite a bit for practicing tempo of stroke. Haven’t used it in a while need to dig that out and try practice more
Another great tip for us to practice in lockdown everyone will be one putting by the time we get back out on course handicaps will be falling by the dozen after watching your videos 👍⛳ PS love the jumper wizard of You Tube 😂
I like that putt out matt. My putting mat isn't as thick as yours. That's what she said. Lmbao...sorry, been drinking already. Be safe brother. Really appreciate this vid and great seeing you and Rick on TXG!
I can only imagine how many times the names Stenson and Molinari will be quietly chanted throughout the final stage of your routine! I’ve got one of the putt-out trainers and if I can get 4 to stick in 30 putts I feel like I’ve done well.
Pete, I love using an elastic line as a practice tool. I can spend ages on the putting green and I use it to monitor my back swing. If I get the putter on the right path back then I know I will start the ball online. I start at 6ft and hit the peg at the end over and over, all the way up to 20ft. I can hit something 0.5cm wide from 20ft over and over using this practice method ! Dropped several putts per round since I started to do this. Struggled to do it inside so thanks for the polystyrene tip. I also use tee pegs as my gate as they fly off with the slightest touch.
Hi Peter the test you've giving yourself is a hard one I've watched the video but you never said is that a daily experience or a twice a week or more. Some you tests I've started myself in the garage as that's the only place in my house I can get a 12 ' run. Keep up the Vlogs take care stay safe
Great video.. on the pressure putt at the end would you keep score of how many putts in total it took to get 10 perfect putts? So you can monitor if your getting better ??
Peter, I fell you pain, I had my old school Callaway Big Bertha full set (why people have to steal) and I absolutely loved (handed down from my wifes GP - who recently passed. Then now cannot wait for this covid crap (serious stuff) and save some money to buy a new set. I ended up buying a cheap set from Canadian Tire; golf recently opened (someone felt they can break in and steal those from my car as well - even had a blanket on them). Take care Peter and I wish you, your family health and safety. Jay from Canada. P.S. I am going to do another comment; because these are long winded and i am just being a complainer (just stings). I just want to play some golf (maybe hit up kijiji - like craigs list)....
Have you done a review of putting alignment aids anywhere? I think I’ve seen you using the Trident one recently, but would be interested in a review / comparison of, say, the Trident, Dead Aim, Callaway’s TTT and any others you might have seen or used?
tom green from having a session with a SAM Putt Lab, other than that it might be hard to tell, there are some complicated ways of doing it without a monitor
An alternative to your string set up is to use two 1.5 litre water bottles full of water and tie the string around the neck, it's very stable and easy to manipulate. I live in an apartment so also no chance to set up a net, I'll certainly start to map my training as you have done, thanks for the videos, you and the other RUclipsrs are keeping us all semi-sane during this terrible time.
According to PuttOut...if the ball makes it to the cup it is in the hole. The amount the ball rolls back at you would be the distance you would miss the hole. The hole being exposed is called the Perfect Putt
Pete, I notice you are stood a couple of inches away from the edge of the mat, as in your toes are well off the mat, but one thing I find is in order to get my eyes over the ball I have to stand slightly on it. I’m 6ft on the dot so would this be because you are taller and can lean further forward or am I in and odd position or stance?
Peter, great content and I love the idea of the builder lazer. Keep up the great work and wish you the best in your future PGA Tour endeavours. Everyone, smash that like button to to get that google algorithm working in Peter favour - get him recommended - Peter deserves that 1 mili. plaque. Thanks for all the tips. Jay from Canada. P.S. Also, I think you and Rick Shiels should do a match up where you both play left handed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
Glad to see you get just as frustrated as I do using the PuttOut. To get the ball to stick is incredibly difficulty. The tolerance is miniscule. Yes, it will take a very long time to get five to stick let alone your target of 10. Great mental training 🤬
Would love a video going through some of the various putter “gripping” options and why you are holding yours in the way you are.

Good on you Pete, really appreciate your happiness considering the restrictions . Thank you
I have had a 6×12 Big Moss 3 hole putting green since 2011!Good practice and boredom killer.😎✌

I love the Harry Potter sweatshirt! Can’t wait to try these. Been needing to work on my putting and confidence behind my putts!

Good to see you representing your alumni
I have invested in a Putting Sim (EXputt). It's great.
Great set up mate....and great putting drills... thanks for sharing

great work from the camera person,,, we should all putt like crenshaw after this lock in
