This is definitely one of my favourite tracks that I use in videos, and is a definite symbol of "It's all gone wrong" 🤣
That video had more time travelling than an episode of Dr Who.
...and in glorious monochrome.
Needs must!
@@JenOnTheMoveComing back from Ireland in October 2022, I ended up being stranded in Holyhead for 2 days because of the train strike, unable to get back to Manchester, panicking and frantic about getting back to work on time and it cost me a fortune - it all started to go wrong in Dublin 3 days earlier and I ended up spending the entire day in the Irish Ferries terminal at Dublin Port with no food until I finally got an overnight sailing, straight into the train strike at Holyhead that I’d been trying to avoid
Wow @michealjohndennis2231
Boarding a Class 158 and getting off a Class 150 that's so Television editing like Michael Portillo's Great British Railway Journeys (But at least you did mentioned why it happened unlike television which they don't) But honestly I did like that, LlanfairPG I'm sure that is pretty close to how it pronounced but that's a very good try but another interesting fact about LlanfairPG is that the station closed in the 1960s but after the Britannia Bridge caught fire they reopened the station as a temporary terminus for trains from Holyhead in the early 1970s but once the bridge was finished, the station closed again but reopened permanently a year later. Great video Jen and looking forward to the final video
Ah Jen it didn't go wrong it was fine and the explanation was perfect.
A station name that’s longer than it’s platforms. Yeahhh!
The ratio of station sign length to platform length. 😂
You know what, Serious dedication to the cause to even try and pronounce it 🤣
All the Anglesey stations are quaint on the quaintometer.
House move! I hope the kitties are settling in ok
There is 4 of them now! They are all doing great thanks ☺ ♥
wow, you boarded a 158, then got off a 150, then when you got off it turned back into a 158
Magic!
It’s Jens super powers she doesn’t like voyagers so she will board that and turn it into a hst
She literally said that it’s in a different order to what it was recorded
@@joe_dodman there is always someone who fails to realise what a joke is...
Some pretty stations there which should probably all get Cheshire's best or whatever considering they're not far from Chester.
I think I need to add Anglesey to the list of places to visit - you should work for the Welsh tourist board, Jen! 😜
Will have to go to Holyhead one day. Never been before.
Beautiful island connected by beautiful bridges. I normally holiday in Newborough (Niwbrwch if you will), and swimming in the sea by a sandy beach, staring at mountains and then having the red arrows fly overhead because they're training at RAF Valley is a great way to spend a day. Next time you come to Ynys Môn, check out the disused line to Amlwch. It's still entirely in place, just hugely overgrown.
Jen in her happy place - until a 150 spoils it 🤣
Well done pronouncing Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch
This word single-handly destroys my life
I always wanted to go to that station with the longest name. Such an iconic station in North Wales.
I learned how to say Llanfaipwllgwyngllgogerychwyrndrobllllantysiliogogogoch properly and will say the full name anytime I get a chance.
If I shorten it it’s to Llanfairpwllgwyngll because that’s what the announcements say on the trains and that’s what I trust to be correct with those sorts of things
Absolutely amazing!
You spend so much time in Wales and loving it, somebody enroll you on a language course haha
I’ve passed through North Wales via Holyhead for so many years now, living in Manchester and having family in Ireland, that I have come to appreciate the handsome Welsh men that I’ve met as an older Irish gay man - Welsh men are serious hotties 🇮🇪☘️🏴❤️❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant video!
Excellent video Jen you pronounced it well i think 😊
New channel name: JenOnTheBeach
Spin off channel: JenInHerHappyPlace 😎
Llanfair go go go job done x
The problem I have with TfW is that even between Chester and Holyhead in daytime, their tiny trains are always packed out compared to Avanti and TFW don’t have a first class option, as well as direct trains from Manchester Victoria to Holyhead on SailRail - where possible, I try to change at Lladnuo to catch TFW’s loco-hauled Cardiff to Holyhead service and because I have more time to change trains when travelling with a heavy suitcase on the ferry to Dublin - the last time I was on TfW from Manchester Piccadilly (platform 14 - hate it with a passion) in October 2022, was that the tiny train was packed out to Chester and most people on that train were changing at Chester for the ferry to Dublin - in customer announcements TfW are always apologising for the reduced number of passenger coaches, but they are responsible for operating the SailRail service in conjunction with Irish Ferries and Stena
Brilliant video Jen, you did do a pretty good job at pronouncing that station name, I've not even managed to perfect it yet lol.
I live near llanfair pg and still struggle to say it
The first time I went to Rhosneigr was to celebrate the end of my GCSEs, a long long time ago, when the RAF still flew Harriers 👴. I need to go back, it is stunning.
Anglesey is easily forgotten!
Shame about Holyhead 🤣
You'll never mispronounce it after listening to the Llanfair song!
*Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch 😆
Funny I can’t even say that 😊
❤
I see that they still have the Arriva Trains Wales sign at Llanfairpwll. Last there 6 years ago myself (but went in a car not on a train).
That's probably better than our attempts at LlanfairPG when we were there last Thursday! The village was bigger than we thought - it's done well because of the tourism. Shame the main building looks a bit tatty at the moment, with the rotting window frames and missing lights and shades by the iconic sign. Did the entirety of the Cambrian Coast and Main lines and the North Wales Coast Line in the last couple of weeks - though most stations we only passed through and not got out of like Jen has.
Such a shame Ty Croes P1 was closed, I was looking forward to you checking out the enormous gap between platform and train there. It's good that they're doing something about that huge step though.
Your attempt to pronoune *that station* didn't disappoint! 😂
It'd have been rude not to have tried!
I liked this area you are in, it has the same feel at Caithness with open skies, similar buildings etc in the Far North around Wick and Thurso. Much more modern trains though as you will only ever see class 158 on the Far North Line. And if you think you seen short platforms, just wait until you see Beauly station on Far North Line (only long enough to open one door)
Thats was an admerible try on that longest station qnd village name is wales. It made me laugh 😂😂. Great video.those were lovely this beach was lovely. I must visit anglsey at some point
Wowzea jen i learned to say Lllanfairpwllgoferychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?

where is the seconf longest named station in the world how much shorter is the neme.
If you include miniature railways, there is Gorsafawddacha'idraigodanheddogleddollonpenrhynareurdraethceredigion on the Fairbourne Railway
(Translates to "The Mawddach Station and its Dragon Teeth at the Northern Penrhyn Road on the Golden Beach of Cardigan Bay")
Totally not to sound new-agey, but do you know if you were born under a Water Sign? I do go so far as to believe some people are more predisposed to love water.
I'm not sure!
Jen plug microphone in sweety
Oh, neither of us have forgotten since! 😂🤣
