‘He’s even running, who runs?’
If you’d have run, you’d have made that Airport tram and won by loads.
Really enjoyed that video 👏
Someone needs to tell Nick about the Fairfield Street lift, a nifty shortcut from the Metrolink to P13/14 (I used to use it every day!)
....Oh!
Shhhhhh 😉
0:51 Jen: “Who runs?!”
Next shot of Jen - heading down to the platform as the tram leaves. Run, Jen!
That was a epic race! Well done to the winner of the race!
It's a well known fact that any form of public transport goes slower when there is a screaming child onboard. You were jinxed from the start!
4:23 Benchill makes me cry too.
Absolutely brilliant 👍
Probably your closest race so far
Thank you 😃
Very epic race Jen & Nick. Congratulations to Nick for winning! I’ve never actually been to Manchester Airport myself.
30 odd years ago when they had the viewing terraces and non-passengers could actually go into terminal 1 and watch the aircraft while drinking hot chocolate at the cafe just before departure gates an afternoon at Manchester Airport was actually pretty good fun for planespotters.
Now there's nothing to see and your better off going to the official spotters park to the south, or the Airport Hotel pub on Ringway Road (easily reachable from Shadow Moss tram stop)
A nail-biter - great stuff, superb editing!
(Jen, I felt for you in that tram with the world’s grumpiest baby / toddler!)
That was absolutely crazy. Huge props to both of you
Well done player 2 great race. Looks like you pretty much both arrived at the station at the same time.
Absolutely loved this
Thanks for another great video Jen!
You're welcome!
Great fun as usual, and a cliff hanger which I honestly thought you had won. Really well edited as well. Thumbs up to Nick 👍
Hi Jen and Nick,
Great video, well done to Nick for winning, a very tight result as predicted.
Hope you both enjoyed your coffees etc'...
All the best, Jon B.
what a brilliant race i really enjoyed this one brilliant work from both you and Nick keep up the awesome work
Excellent video, Jen, with the editing increasing the tension! Congratulations to the winner and nice work on filming from you both
Thanks so much!!
This Video Was Really Good 👍
Another fantastic Tram vs Train Race Jen I cannot believe how close victory was for Nick only 1 minute this must of been the closest race so far I continue to enjoy watching your Vlogs Jen carry on being awesome keep up the good work take care and stay safe and I look forward to watching your next Vlog whenever that maybe
A very close but a Brilliant Race and well done Nick for beating Jen and I've enjoyed this video!
This was epic !!
Great video Jen!
I’ve been waiting a whole week for this😊😊😊thx💜
Hope you enjoyed it!
Your videos always make my day! Amazing content in my local area. Keep posting!
Thanks!
Somebody looked very smug after winning haha! Great race as always!
Excellent video Jen i enjoy race videos.
Excellent video and super close and exciting race! Nick doesn't know the tip of walk from Picadilly Gardens🤣
Epic race, surprisingly result!
It was close wasn't it?
Trafford Bar looks like what used to be called Old Trafford. Back in one of the many incarnations of this route you'd get a train from there to directly to the Styal Loop (which eventually sprouted the Airport Spur -- I'm not sure when it was built but I think it was after the rail line to Altrincham was converted to be a tram line.)
The airport branch from Heald Green north and south junctions was completed in 1991 and opened a matter of months before the Bury and Altrincham Metrolink conversions.
Trafford Bar tram stop was called Old Trafford before the Metrolink conversion, and Old Trafford on the Metrolink used to be called Warwick Road.
4:24 hate it when that happens on public transport
That was a close race! Congrats to... the one that won, I can't spoil it! 😂
A brilliant race you've done with Nick, I'm sure you'll win one next time Jen lol.
Next one I'm very much pushing my luck!
I love Metrolink's Airport branch! A grand tour of Wyrhenshawe!
Given the difference was (VERY) marginal though, the tram would still appeal better to those with limited mobility (or lots of luggage) given no hassle of changing
Omg not even 2 minutes in and already a nail-biter! 😱😱😱
Told ya this race would be mega tight!
You laughed at the start with who runs, but if you ran you would have caught that first tram and finished way ahead. 🤣
Nick "winging" it at the airport..
I expect that it would be quicker to change at Deansgate rather than Piccadilly, & if your train doesn't call at Knott Mill then quicker to run from the back exit of Castlefield to Oxford Road given that the tram goes really slowly up Mosley Street & you have to go through Manchester Piccadilly.
An impressive tally of pointing in the first two minutes 👍
Gotta keep pointing!
Nick: Unfortunately, I have to go to platform 13
Everyone else: YAYAYAYAYAYAY FINALLY I GOT PLATFORM THIRTEEN YAYAYAYAYAYAYAAY
I once did the airport to Picc in 9 minutes on a TPE class 185.
Isn't there a lift from the Piccadilly Station street level bus stops right up to platforms 13 and 14 that would have a few minutes and around 300 metres walking?
Great vid, I think on another day the tram would win. Next try Manchester to Rochdale maybe from Hollinwood. 😊
It should say "Tram to: Manchester Airport Eventually”
How CLOSE was that!
Player One-Jen
Player Two-Nick
I do think that Nick has outrun you Jen but quite a epic run.
From what point in London could you do this - Heathrow Express v underground race to the airport?
Great video. I'd worked out it was firswood before but looks like you got it right. Very misleading for tourists the tram going to the airport. It's definitely more to connect wythenshawe.
Transport for Greater Manchester have always been open about this line being about filling a couple of big gaps in the Wythenshawe area commuter network than connecting Manchester to it's airport. As such I'm not sure what you're complaining about.
I live in Firswood Jen and this question has frequently consumed my thoughts
And I love you video
These race videos are fun (for me to watch….)
That crying baby would be driving me mad
Great race and video thanks for it! Have you considered changing at Deansgate? More convenient and could be quicker by avoiding Piccadilly Gardens.
That would only work if there's a convenient connection, and you'd end up on a northern stopper
@@JenOnTheMove The Blackpool trains are only stopping at Heald Green, one additional stop.
@@JenOnTheMove but thanks for your time answering!
The slowest way actually to get rk manchester airport is by walking
nick is the best and do u know jen you said i have just nist a train but it was a tram
I think the conclusion is, train is quicker if you have just missed the tram, and Transpennine is having a particularly good day.
Agreed. If Jen had made the first Airport Tram she would have beaten Nick by about 10 minutes. If anyone finds themselves in this particular situation, I'd say take the first tram that comes, regardless of its direction of travel.
0:23
Wait,
NICK BRADLEY BECAME AN NPC.
getting the train from deansgate instead of piccadilly would probably save a lot of time for that route
No it wouldn't, not on that day in those circumstances. Otherwise we'd have done just that.
Nick taking quite a risk relying on TPE, it's all to play for 😅
Are not Costa doing "Aero" hot chocolate this winter?
should have done this with a 20Kg bag in tow
For one minute!! pretty even I'd say more so if one had travel luggage, good non the less
Another great race Jen, and well done Nick! Didn't you just miss a tram when you lost to G as well? I think I see a pattern starting to emerge!
I did indeed!
I say it has to be at least 2 minutes of waiting or it is a tie
join the movement, return the much beloved pacers #Ilovepacers #blovedpacers
I swear there is always a crying baby on the Manchester airport line…
5:33 ah, yes the slow entrance to Manchester airport.
Kirkby northern is closed 🔐
1:28 Solution: Get on a East DidsBury tram and get off at st werbourghs road
Still would have ended up on the same tram in the end
Jen would never tie her apponents Shoe Laces together, or would she?
😇😇😇😇
Cool Hello you
why was he getting the tram to piccadilly when deansgate was two stops from trafford bar
Because it was slower
@@JenOnTheMove ahh, that makes sense
But what about the prices? Which is cheaper? And the tram was more convenient. You didn't have to get out and dash across Piccadilly.
Why is nick so handsome 😅
Cool Hello i have a runny nose
Cool Hello me
It was funny at the end bit not really 😂
I feel like in these videos Jens sat on one train or tram putting on effort in and everyone else is running all over the place.
This sounds a bit like I’m hating but I’m not sorry
A crying child on Jen's tram?
Sending you my sympathies Jen.
