    Looks like a great addition. With the 12V connector it appears it could be used with a back up power supply like a Yeti or Anker outside of the Tesla . Handles make it easy to carry around.

    I'm curious how this works as a cooler. Like after it is cold, how long will it stay cold for when no longer plugged in. Does it have the same functionality as a cooler if you just throw some ice packs in?

    • @dadstoyscars
      @dadstoyscars  11 месяцев назад +3

      It’s well insulated. I think even better than a regular cooler. It usually stays cool for a few hours even after I turned it off.

    When you leave the car do you have to have it on camp mode to keep power to it or can you just turn it on from the app at any time?

    • @dadstoyscars
      @dadstoyscars  Год назад +3

      I tried and left it on. for a few hours without turning camp mode or sentry mode on and it was still working.
      You can turn on or off via the app but you can control the temperature and turn on Eco mode.

    Does it vent well? I'm currently using a different brand and model that completely shuts under the compartment, & I noticed that it gets way too hot to a point where it might melt.

    • @dadstoyscars
      @dadstoyscars  Год назад

      Yes, it does vent very well.
      You just have to make sure to install spacer pads underneath the sub trunk cover correctly so there is space for refrigerator to radiate the heat.
      I just left it in the sun trunk since the video and just turn it on when need to use it. I’ve been using it a lot and it’s been great.

    I’d like it better if the compressor were on the other side. Doesn’t make sense that they make this for the model Y and yet you have to run the power cable around to the opposite side.

    • @dadstoyscars

      That was my thought too but the wire is more than long enough to reach the outlet and very easy to manage.

    How does it work with the new Tesla Y models that have a 16V battery instead of 12V. Does it overheat because of the over charge?
