The part where the Mertz's new washing machine suddenly starts shaking and rumbling and erupting like a mighty volcano, shooting their clothes all over the place is about the funniest scene in this whole episode.
LOL I remember seeing this episodes as a rerun when i was a kid, the washer breaks the railing and ends up falling off the porch and crashes to the ground floor. shame, since I imagine washing machines this modern at the time must have cost a lot, compared to ringer washers. it would have been a luxury item.
So true - never do business with friends or relatives - for more evidence of this, just check out a few episodes of The People's Court, Judge Judy, et al. Ricky also said never do business with friends or relatives but in Spanish. Am trying to catch the clip where he said that but it would probably sound something like "nunca haces trabajo con mientros de familia o amigos".
I always thought one of the main differences between I Love Lucy and the Honeymooners was Lucy and Ethel would fight sometimes while Alice and Trixie hardly ever fought with each other. I guess the Honeymooners focused more on Ralph vs. everybody.
The series was never the same after the birth of Little Ricky. All the action had to stop sometimes, just to announce that Little Ricky was being watched, or else some busybody in Ohio would call Child Protective Services.
Manuel Orozco it was o.k which episode was when she & Ethel were stuffing chocolates down their shirts do you know? & i also like "The Vitameatavegamin Girl" do you know what episode that one was as will?
Manuel Orozco i "ONLY" have "The First Complete Season On DVD" of "I Love Lucy" that's seven-disc it aired from: June 15, 1951- May 6, 1957 that I've had since...... 3-18-2011 its part of my 207 d.v.d collection i also have one called.... "The Lucy Show" w/ 13 episode in it on a two-disc-d.v.d-box-set that I've had since....3-18-2005 i also have one of her movie's called..... "Yours, Mine And Ours" (1968) w/ her & Henry Fonda in it.
Ethel always had good comebacks
Yes!
I used to watch I Love Lucy as a kid. Looking back on it, this episode had some good life lessons. 🙂
I love this but my favorite is their "Aunt Martha's Old-Fashioned Salad Dressing" commercial.
I really like this one...especially when Lucy says. Look what happened to your washing machine.
😂😂

And watch for the brassiere at the end that hits Ethel mockingly in the face.
How many sitcoms of today will be as funny decades from now as “I Love Lucy” continues to be?
Well... if you don't mind my saying so, you're doing it the hard way. LOL!
That line always kills me!

One of the episodes with Ethel in pants.
Still funny as always!
Good Ol’ Mrs. Trumble….but oh oh….where’s Little Ricky?
The series was never the same after the birth of Little Ricky. All the action had to stop sometimes, just to announce that Little Ricky was being watched, or else some busybody in Ohio would call Child Protective Services.
The only episode where Mrs. Trumble's first name was revealed
And where Ethel is wearing pants not a dress.
Mrs Trumbull like at times a peace keeper between ethel and Lucy such in this classic episode the washing machine
When money was offered for the machine, suddenly "It's my machine."
Look what happened to your washing machine lmao
LLLMMMFFFAAAOOO they lv twisting the facts
I love Ethel
Me too! I prefer her over Lucy.
They’re both amazing! The success comes from how well they both played off of one another. Incredible chemistry!
✌🏻🙂✌🏻
Just showing part of a situation isn't enough!
I wanted to see the part where the washing machine fell
+Manuel Orozco me too!
