I 'll always remember the woman screaming when he smashed the rose bush
like he was slowly running over her foot 😅 I saw this as a rerun on tv, back in the 70's
and remember thinking Gawd lady chill out! its jut a rose bush, its not like he ran over our child!!

This scene was filmed on MGM backlot 3, on St. Louis Street, where Meet Me In St. Louis was filmed. You can recognize the houses. This was the first time Lucy had worked at MGM since DUBARRY WAS A LADY in the 1940s.
