As someone who's lost a bag this actually makes me happy to think my stuff didn't end up rotting in a closet somewhere. Someone else got use and hopefully joy out of my loss. I feel much better.

And this is why you always pack what is important to you in a carry on bag!!! Clothing can be replaced; jewelry and other heirloom items often can’t be repurchased.
You Also should pack the bare minimum items in your carry on. Stuff like an extra pair of underwear and any medications in case they loose your main luggage. Or, if you wear clothing that's next to impossible to find at retail stores, then you'd want to pack a bit extra for the clothes. That's what I have to do as even just underwear that fits me is only sold in a few stores and even then a specific store nearby might not even carry my size at all 😱
My rule for carry on is: 1. Anything that I might need on the plane. 2. Stuff that I couldn’t be without of my luggage takes a couple of extra days. 3. Stuff that cannot be replaced if my luggage gets lost forever.
Me and my sibling once lost our baggage. We visited our homecountry and fillet it with all of our death mothers stuff - a lot of photo albums included. When they got lost we really got sad. Luckily 2 days later they arrived, delivered to our home. note: never throw away those small stickers they give you while handing out the flight tickets at the airport. Those small ones identify your luggage and help you to send it to your home
This is actually so upsetting, I once lost all my luggage when I was relocating to Paris 6 years ago. Luckily I did have my wash kit in my hand luggage but all my clothes and practically everything I owned was in my lost luggage, it was so sad and for some reason it still hurts me now, I called everyday, emailing and even went in person to ask everytime I was near the coach station for about a year but they didnt know where it went. I'm 26 and I dnt know why it still gets to me but it's just so sad.
I would laugh all the way to the bank 🤣🤣🤣🤣 airlines make generous offers (at least US and European ones) on lost or damaged baggage (and you’re not supposed to put important stuff in checked baggage)- I had a bag and most of the contents damaged by TSA (but airline is responsible) bc the douche that inspected my duffle just chucked my 💩 in there and I assume sat on the bag, probably jumped on it, rather than putting it back like it was perfectly packed- American TSA is trash- other countries they try to repack however it came to them, US they just chuck it in (I lived overseas and my duffle was food as I came back to the states for Christmas and decided I would bring back what I couldn’t find where I was living and a few clothing items- mainly food stuff- that’s allowed to go across country lines- nothing not allowed- just like cereals, tortillas, veggie infused noodles, peanutbutter- you would not believe how gross peanut butter is overseas- it doesn’t surprise me they don’t get why Americans like peanut butter- bc theirs is gross!, etc). Most of it was damaged (thankfully not the peanutbutter 😂), the duffle had massive holes in it (despite being new- again the douche TSA)... airline offered me 3xs or more the value of everything and I didn’t have to make an itemized list and show receipts or anything- option was take a check for x amount or send an itemized list (I filed a report at the airport so they knew the damage was bad)... also if you have travel insurance you can get money from them as well...
It would suck but it just stuff. Besides, it's not the airlines responsibility to store lost baggage for people. You have 31 days to try and locate your baggage or it's gone. Nobody is responsible for how you feel.
But obviously they didn’t care about it as it was in their checked bag (also airlines list items that shouldn’t be in checked bags as they won’t cover the loss of those items- as obvi many thieves would just say oh umm where’s my $100,000 ring?)- and why would you check a wedding ring? 🤣 unhappy marriage ?
@@candicecart9786 that's not true though? There's many people that just can't find their luggage and the airline doesn't know what happened to it. It could end up in the wrong place and just stay lost. Those 2 things happen a majority of the time. Why would you assume they happen because the owners don't care?
@@candicecart9786 Sometimes you are literally forced to check your luggage. This is happened so many times to me! I would keep my ring on my hand in that case though.
@Old Film Clips that person changed their comment. They said that luggage almost never goes missing there's protocols to keep it from happening. My original comment was telling her she was wrong. That its not true, I don't need to repeat it because it's still there. So the point is now moot.
I live in Alabama, & we freaking LOVE this place!! The ppl that work there are so nice! & if they find things after the bags get there & they can possibly identify the owner, they’ll still do that. I’m glad you had a good experience there! We love it! 💕
Some of them night be just cargo or deliveries for salons Also, many women rent/donate/sell their dresses (honestly you're never gonna wear it again anyway) so losing it isn't that big of a deal 🤷♀️
My mum’s bag was lost and even though it had all her details in it was never returned. When they tell you they return the items if they know who it belongs to that is not true. We had her address on the outside and inside and my wedding book was never returned!
This lowkey made me scared because what if someone working in the airlines/airports are intentionally hiding some baggages just so they can sell it to these stores. Just thinking...
Every time I go on a plane, I make sure that I put a piece of paper with my address and contact details in every pocket on the suitcase, and also on a hanging tag. I go a bit over the top but I don’t ever want to end up with my bag at one of these places.
The fact you DIDNT get that red dress has me mad upset lol cause it looked gorgeous on you ! Like yaaas queen put your ball gowns on and go pick up your groceries!
@@hopescope If you are still in contact with the Unclaimed Baggage store could you ask them what they do with the suitcases they would't put up to resell BECAUSE they could donate them to a VERY good cause... Kids who are in Foster Homes. When the kids may go to a Foster home... they usually or generally have to pack all their personal belongings to take with them in a black ' garbage ' bag. How demeaning. Their personal items (the few things they may own ) are NOT garbage to them. Being to have their own suitcase even a beat-up one , means a LOT to these Foster kids. Please ask them to do this if they are not doing it already. Old suitcases, not much of value but a Foster Kid would truly cherish it as something Special
A good tip is put a “name tag” on the outside of the suitcase BUT also put tape in the inside with your name and phone number as well! Most of the outside tags will break and fall off. A lot easier to know who’s luggage it is when they open it up and find a name/ phone number.
I used to work in the travel industry in a Caribbean destination and assisted many travellers with submitting claims for lost luggage. For many, this is a truly traumatic experience to arrive on a holiday and not have a single item with you that you packed...especially plus sized individuals as plus size items are not readily available everywhere.
This was heartbreaking for me as I’ve lost luggage. I want to clarify - we don’t forget about our lost luggage. If you do multiple flights/layovers you can’t always just go check for luggage. All you can do is file a ticket and hope they find a “black, hard case bag with a ribbon” among the other thousands of suitcases they have. If they don’t find it within a certain amount of time, the airline closes your case and offers you money instead. They stop looking. So your bag could be sitting there but you have no way of knowing or checking. Then when it isn’t “found” or “claimed” this happens.
This is why I bought luggage that has peacock feathers on it. I was traveling a lot for work and since its soo colorful, it made it easy to see among all the black suitcases.
Did they tell you that you could contact this store? I feel like that should be the protocol. Plus, if they sold it, obviously they saw it and knew where it was. 🙄 sounds like laziness on the airlines part.
They definitely open them up and swap things for sale. If it really was totally unprocessed then there’s always a chance you’ll come across contraband.
I want the size small grey pants and my mom wants the size XL item lol. Pick me an send both and save time 😜just found your videos but I've already watched like ten of them so I'm def subscribing!!
Unpopular opinion: I’m so glad someone had the idea for this store and I stand behind everything they stand for. If this store did not exists there would still be luggage that never found their owners and instead of being repurchased and donated it would be trashed.
It is sad that they lost their items, but it was the airlines fault. I would NEVER put any high dollar jewelry, etc in my luggage. Any high dollar items go in my carryon. I think the airline is required to reimburse up to $3500 if they lost your luggage which will cover most of the cost of the items lost. Of course, sentimental pieces have emotional value that cannot be replaced. My cousin did a destination wedding, and carried her wedding dress on the airplane as one of her carryon pieces of luggage since she was so worried the airline would lose the luggage. The garment bag with the dress folded over so met the size requirement for carryon and she had it in an overhead bin. So my suggestion to people....any high end jewelry or super sentimental pieces should go with you as a carryon.
@@TheKimmyomy The tags sometimes get ripped off during transport of the luggage....going down conveyor belts, sliding down chutes, etc. Which is why it is a good idea to keep a tag with information on the inside of the bags too.
@@otakusimp4991 if you actually watched the video, theres a 90 day period and the airline will reimburse the person..and this store has returned many items to their owners by finding personal belongings !
The wedding rings are really killing me. Like how can i prove a 20,000 dollar ring was in my suitcase.. they must go through hell and not get what their stuff is worth..n the fact that airlines are losing this much stuff🤦🏽♀️🥴🥴🥴
@@ashleymay6416 They dont always reimburse and if they do, it's not the amount of money that everything cost because you have to show receipts of everything and prove they were in the luggage.
My dad was admitted in a Russian hospital and he left two big boxes containing his stuffs and me and my sister supposedly gifts, but we didn’t received it even after my dad died last year. But knowing shops/ companies like this exists on donating or selling it, makes me happy knowing that those stuffs are used by someone else instead of being piled and dusted..
As someone who works for an airline I can personally say we work VERY hard to get you your luggage back to you if it gets lost. Most airlines have a “warehouse” where lost bags are kept for 60 days or more (and that’s after it’s kept at the station it ended up at for a few weeks) before they’re gotten rid of. Hope that makes some people feel better 😅
@@sherylastley9652 But then couldn't you call and have it sent to you...I mean you may not get it when you need it but at least you could get it sent to you eventually....idk I don't travel much.
@@Upper_echelon_exotics you file a missing luggage claim at final destination, but the chances you can afford to fly to the connector airport to check the missing luggage "warehouse" yourself, is slim to none. You're relying on someone else to go look for it based on the description you give on the form. It can be a crapshoot. 🤷🏼♀️
Why don’t the airlines tell you this?? Alaska lost TWO of my checked bags from when I was moving from Hawai’i to California somehow and ended up paying me only $800. Which I even had my name tags on it and shipping address. Honestly think whoever found it saw what was inside and just decided to keep it which is extremely fucked up.
Found rose and pink leather ostrich skin never been worn Lucchese boots at Value Village once for $39... I couldn't leave them there when they were my sister's size!
For all the people in the comments who have lost their luggage, i really feel bad for y’all and here is a tip, put a tag on it with your phone number/address(the address could be a post office near where you live so you dont give away your exact location if you wish) and as they check the outside of luggage just in case, it will be sent your luggage or you will be notified that they have some luggage with your phone number on. It worked for me
So many people not approving of that lost luggage store in Alabama. But it has been doing great since 1970. There’s no selling of lost luggage to that store, the luggage isn’t stolen to give to that store, and many people were found to get back their lost items, and a lot have gone there to claim their lost items. Also, the lady said a lot of money goes to good charities. So that’s a positive way in seeing that. And if the clothes are cheap, and still in good condition, it helps people who are on a fixed income. It’s much better than lost luggage being thrown in the garbage and sent to landfills.
I’m almost certain some fine jewellery are certified and have names registered. If you take them to a store, they would probably be able to locate the owner. No matter how rich I am, I would be gutted to lose something precious like a wedding ring...
I mean it’s just jewelry. The ring doesn’t define your marriage. You and your husband/wife define the marriage. The ring all it is is a piece of metal that’s it
@@itsjorgeroblox1779 it could still hold a special meaning to someone...it could also be a heirloom..when there is a chance to return it why not take the chance
I actually live about an hour away from this store. When I worked for Build a Bear, we had a customer who would go once a month and buy all of the build a bears she could find and would bring them to our store. We would then send them to corporate so they could remove the ID tag from the inside and reunite it with its original owner ❤ I’ve always loved that 🥰
@@cowboy4jesus3N1 I always try to think of it that way! I've lost so many things and these days im like, welp, someone will find it and hopefully think its as cool as I did
When you lose luggage, you try to find it. I think they keep it on hold for a couple of months. It’s all part of the airline agreement when you buy a ticket. And the airline reimburses the loser (?) to some extent. But I get it. But I still want to go here!
Yeah...I agree might have something to do with their exclusive contract paying airlines to only use them, plus the building to clean & process. Still though seem highly priced but I guess if people pay the price.
I live near the place and back in the 90's and early 00's it was a great deal to shop, but as internet became more available and they were able to look up the retail price it got way more expensive. It honestly isn't that great.
@@Coffeemom420 Its used but its better than sell a broken one and they refixed many of it just to sell a quality item that are 10% lower than their origin of prices so i wouldnt complain much
Im so shocked at the amount of people triggered by this.. things are just things replacable. She explained they have 90 days to come forward and are reimbursed by the airline. Important/sentimental items are best on a carry bag to avoid this happening. Yall too attached to items. This store is so amazing. What a gem!
Right! At least some people are thinking right . You know better burned down than somebody to profit from your things . If my luggage was there I would have sued them .
Right? The fact that they said some luggage are so bad they just donate it or throw it out. This sh*t should all be donated. If it’s too pricy to donate then auction off and donate that. This is awful.
There is a 90 day grace period before they sell. She also said if they find out who personal items belong to they return it. Remember when Kelley Stamps chanel bag was stolen when they insisted on searching her carry-on bag. Took the purse left the empty box! Watch her video if you havnt seen it. She's pissed !
@@MegaBabychocolate I think it’s okay it’s not like you can find the owners and give it back unless there’s some sort of ID anyway! But it’s better than it ending up in a landfill and they also donate it so it’s good I think.
After almost losing completely (with no return) my luggage, because the airline put it in the flight before mine, but could only "find" it after a friend threatened with a lawsuit (mind you it was pink and had white polka dots), this is really heartbreaking. When you emigrate you risk these things cause there's virtually no way to track it and tell you where it is. It's awful, really.
When the Chanel bag popped up i felt so sad like omg it's a Chanel bag even if you're rich and you can afford it you'll feel sad if you lost it!. Not gonna mention the wedding dresses and the jewelry 💔
As cool as this can be, as someone who lost a baggage with a pricey ring that my late grampa had gifted me before dying, I would be hella pissed if I saw someone else wear it. In some cases finders keepers just can't be applied
@Makai Threads Cause I was bringing it back home. Grampa gave it to me before dying, then he died, we had the funeral and then I had to fly back home. I'm not careless for literally just bringing my shit home. And at any rate knowing that it could be around one of those shops is just wrong
Look it does suck for you but there was ways to prevent it. In my family we put a luggage tag and also put a piece of paper in the bag with out contact information in case the luggage tag falls off. Also like the others say bring that with you into the plane.
This is so lovely and uplifting hearing about the medical supplies going where they needed and the store manager was so nice - thank you for making this video.
This is impossible in my country cause every bag and luggage get a coded lable and the code has the owner's info on the system. And it is not easy to separate the lable. Your luggage can be tracked back to you easily. How come they don't do this in a developed country?
I literally just saw a comment section that was full of people blaming a girl for accidentally losing her dead grandpa's heirloom (a ring) just because she was young and forgot to put it on her immediate carry-on. But sure, let's question the young girl instead of the other people's integrity. It's like this because of capitalism. Everyone is at each other's throat throats trying to one up each other in the system. Everyone's trying to make money some way somehow even if it means putting others in misfortune.
Did you watch the whole video? Airlines give the items 90 days. Most are recovered and returned to their rightful owners. But if it either isn’t found or the people don’t actually claim them, then have the legal right to sell it. Bottom line is that if you don’t want your stuff to end up in a store like this, make sure your info is inside the suitcase or bag.
Same. Almost think the airline purposely lose it lol. No but foreal I don’t like the idea of free stuff/lost stuff being made into money. I feel the same about goodwill and Salvation Army
🙄🙄🙄🙄 DONT put something “really important” in your checked bag 🤷🏼♀️ also ppl don’t seem to understand this luggage is unclaimed for 3 entire fing MONTHS!! And would otherwise be in a landfill, polluting the earth! I guarantee 99.9% of these bags are from ppl who 1. Don’t care (and either never made a claim with the airline or made a claim and got reimbursed) or 2. Accepted an offer from the airline to just drop it (eg airline pays out once the bag is missing for a certain amount of time per diem and sometimes they offer you a lump sum of money to just drop the claim altogether as it makes more sense to them monetarily) 🤷🏼♀️ If someone really cared, they could track it down within 90 days as bags are scanned in and so there’s an electronic trail (I’ve had a few bags lost and they always typy typy on their computers and say, “well it was last scanned at x at y o’clock). also the unclaimed bag area (which I’ve been to) in airports logs all the luggage electronically as well- date/flight/name/bag description etc - they grabbed our bags from the carousel bc we were told the wrong one (sign on the carousel was wrong as well) and by the time we asked an airport employee it was already in the unclaimed bag area!! (After only like 15 minutes as our small flight only had our checked bags as everyone else was on a day business trip- so they pulled them fast!)... the unclaimed bag area (really a warehouse) is just overflowing- but if you are crazy about your bag you can always contact the airport (in addition to the airline) and speak with unclaimed baggage at the airport - everything is electronic so they can look it up by either your name and date lost or bag description - it’s always better to have a unique bag- that’s how ours was grabbed from the warehouse so quick- you didn’t have to loom through a million black bags 🤣

What's so fun about this store in comparison to regular thrift stores is that the stuff here is actually good. As in like, people usually bring their favorite items on trips since you wanna look good when traveling. But in thrift stores it's stuff that people don't like anymore so its usually old and outdated.
I’m literally shook rn. I absolutely love the movie The Labyrinth and the fact that Hoggle is literally in that store is mind blowing to me. I really hope one day I’ll be able to see it
Well it would otherwise be in a landfill... I travel a lot and have had my bags lost, damaged, and even once an unclaimed baggage room guy (they work for the airport) swooped up my bag from the carousel (as they do when they believe everyone from a flight should’ve gotten their bag- we were told the wrong carousel and bc we came from a regional airport where most ppl don’t check bags as most are business ppl- we were the only checked bags as we were going on an international trip- and We had to go to the unclaimed bag room- the guy had taken the bag after like 10 minutes on ye carousel- there are so many bags- there’s no way they can keep bags on bags... literally a warehouse of thousands if not millions of bags- we got our bags- luckily- but if not, the airlines track them as the bags are scanned in everywhere they go and the airlines can access when and where the bag was last scanned)... I don’t think that you get ppl get 90 DAYS (3 months) to claim their bags!!! That’s a long time. My guess is a lot of ppl just don’t want the hassle of dealing with the airlines (the ones that don’t get returned) 🤷🏼♀️ I have some friends that would be like oh well (if it got lost on the way home) and not care 🤷🏼♀️ I care but not everyone does .. or of course if they lost it on the way to a trip, the airline (if they can’t find it within like 48 hours and get it to you), will sometimes just make an offer as most airlines already pay some sort of per diem rate on a bag that goes missing for 24+ hours - so they might offer say $500 to end the claim and you don’t get the bag back- the check is to cover the bag and the contents (also some travel insurance will also cover a per diem for lost bags)... again nothing monumentally important should ever be checked - jewelry, cash, electronics, etc aren’t covered (anyway most electronics shouldn’t be in the belly of the plane due to lithium batteries)
I just shared this video with my friend that was making fun of me not willing to check in my wedding dress to Hawaii. I literally hold that thing in my hand for a gizzillion hour flight
Honestly, I never could buy some other person’s personal stuff. I feel so bad. I wish all the lost baggage is returned to them. I really do. I feel immoral, definitely didn’t enjoy the video without feeling guilty.
I just got SO excited because I live in Alabama and only just found out that this unclaimed baggage store was a thing! I am also so obsessed with thrifting and can't wait to go to Scottsboro!
Lmao I remember lost my iphone at the airport years ago. The hassle you have to go through to get your stuff back and prove it’s yours is insane Im not even surprised this is a business
I'm not suprised at all. They sell id-locked electronics after all. That just feels sketchy to me. Like if someone manages to open the phone it's filled with information, pictures etc....
I'd die if someone saw this video and they were like "OMG that's my luggage United lost" let's be honest "unclaimed" probably means the airline done fuckkkked up.
I used to fly regularly for my job. United regularly lost my luggage. They always got it to me, but at the last possible second. They would guarantee arrival within a certain number of hours, such as 'we'll get it to you before midnight'. And at midnight someone would ring my doorbell. Inevitably.
It’s obvious that most of the people that lost their luggage don’t even care or bother to look for it. 90 DAYS is a long time to get it back, maybe these people preferred to get some money instead
I worked for an airline, baggage agents put info online for other carriers to cross check so travelers can be untied with their bags... sometimes the passengers memory of bag vs reality is different so it goes unclaimed
I just lost my bag in March. From what I was told they put it on a flight before my actual flight. I kept calling every two days to see a status. They never found it. I'm still disappointed.
@@judymarshall6889 I will never understand how they can KNOW which plane it went on and still you can't locate it. But then also bad, one time mine went on an earlier flight and it was just left unattended at the conveyor belt, so I got lucky no one took it. Probably helps to carry inexpensive luggage lol.
Ehmm... not really... Most people would prefer to get their stuff back, but when you're told "we can't find it, the 90 days are up, it's money or nothing," you are kind of forced to accept the money. I've had friends and family members lose their luggage (thankfully, has never happened to me), and usually the money you get is nowhere near the total value of the items in the luggage, plus some people lose items they may consider invaluable (like family heirlooms, one of a piece items, etc.).
The funniest thought; I order a lost luggage bag from online store and have it shipped to me. The bag gets LOST IN SHIPMENT It would be so funny I wouldn’t even be mad. 😂
You get reimbursed for anything generic, but something like a wallet or a family heirloom would be a lot more important for you to get back. If that makes sense
Yes, the airport reimburses them with a generic amount as they don't know the true value of what's inside each bag. As they should, they lost the property they were supposed to be responsible for. My point is more about if the store is going to take the time to find the owner they should not get to pick and choose what they return in said persons belongings. Also stirs the question how many bags get "lost" on purpose to fund this business? Just my thoughts. 😊
@@coramccoy The store owners probably don't know which items belonged to the person when they lost their luggage and the store is really massive so it is probably very hard.
@icecream Cake- they explain that they do find the owners though so they have to know where it came from. @CRoseRT no, quite the opposite if you read my previous comments. if they take the time to find the owners then they should return all goods. If the bag has been truly abandoned and has no owner found a different approach can be taken.

This makes me want to buy all the luggage so I can reunite it with the people who it belongs to. I guarantee there are people out there still to this day looking for their wedding dresses and such. I was on a flight looking out the window and saw in one of those vehicles where your suitcases land and realized that they really need a door on the side of them because the bar does nothing. Suitcases constantly fell out and a couple of people did not want to go back and pick them up. This is beautiful, I hate when things just get thrown away, and anything that is lost and not claimed would be thrown away without this store. Love the idea of giving a new life to old things
Some of those formal/prom-looking dresses could be pageant dresses/gowns for national and international competitions and worth hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on if they are designer (such as Sherri Hill) or custom made.
I was in this situation at one time and contacted the airline and they never found my luggage and seeing this really upsets me because there was something I really cared about and it was never returned to me 😢
I go to this place every Saturday & it's crazy to see people making videos talking about how cool/ unique it is. I guess when you live so close it's just normal, but i'm glad travelers get a unique experience.
I’ve been there multiple times...before COVID....I bought a camera, iPad, and a pair of beats 🎧 for my husband! We love that place, pass by it every time on our way home 😊
My husband and I went a few years ago. In a rack of $50-$60 leather jackets, he found one that only had the tiniest bit of wear on the cuffs, made by a boutique jacket maker in California with a retail value of $850 that fit him beautifully. This absolutely was somebody’s lost jacket and the store had no idea the retail value of that one. I also bought quite a few unique finds. The second time we went which (was just this past February), we ended up with a Coach Poppy laptop case that was fun and bright. It was $10. My daughter loved it. They do have plenty of stuff on the racks that they buy specifically to sell there, so there are multiple sizes of a particular item occasionally. If you know what you’re doing, you’re lucky, and you really take some time you can come home with some incredible finds.
@Spice Dummy honestly yes. It's not like she can't buy other clothes and stuff. But I'd be extra upset if I knew that my sadness was being profitted off and someone else is out there walking with *my* wedding ring for half price. It's not like they gave this stuff to good will either. It's literally people with extra money lying around buying random stuff they aren't attached to.
As someone who's lost a bag this actually makes me happy to think my stuff didn't end up rotting in a closet somewhere. Someone else got use and hopefully joy out of my loss. I feel much better.
that is the cutest comment ever shut upppp

And this is why you always pack what is important to you in a carry on bag!!! Clothing can be replaced; jewelry and other heirloom items often can’t be repurchased.
You Also should pack the bare minimum items in your carry on. Stuff like an extra pair of underwear and any medications in case they loose your main luggage. Or, if you wear clothing that's next to impossible to find at retail stores, then you'd want to pack a bit extra for the clothes. That's what I have to do as even just underwear that fits me is only sold in a few stores and even then a specific store nearby might not even carry my size at all 😱
@@zebraloverbridget I do the same. All essentials and valuables in the carry on.
True!!!
@@zebraloverbridget ya most people are not smart
My rule for carry on is:
Nice note
Be honest, u didnt search this.

I'm sorry that's horrible.
I'm so sorry :(
This is really sad 😢
Oh my gosh :(
If you can’t remember what was in the luggage then don’t be upset. If you can remember couple stuff in the lost luggage re-buy it.
It’s all fun and games but Imagine watching this and realizing that it’s YOUR suitcase they’re digging through 💀
I would laugh all the way to the bank 🤣🤣🤣🤣 airlines make generous offers (at least US and European ones) on lost or damaged baggage (and you’re not supposed to put important stuff in checked baggage)- I had a bag and most of the contents damaged by TSA (but airline is responsible) bc the douche that inspected my duffle just chucked my 💩 in there and I assume sat on the bag, probably jumped on it, rather than putting it back like it was perfectly packed- American TSA is trash- other countries they try to repack however it came to them, US they just chuck it in (I lived overseas and my duffle was food as I came back to the states for Christmas and decided I would bring back what I couldn’t find where I was living and a few clothing items- mainly food stuff- that’s allowed to go across country lines- nothing not allowed- just like cereals, tortillas, veggie infused noodles, peanutbutter- you would not believe how gross peanut butter is overseas- it doesn’t surprise me they don’t get why Americans like peanut butter- bc theirs is gross!, etc).
I would laugh lol🤣🤣
IKR I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT-
It would suck but it just stuff. Besides, it's not the airlines responsibility to store lost baggage for people. You have 31 days to try and locate your baggage or it's gone. Nobody is responsible for how you feel.
I agree, it’s not lost if this store acquired it. They took it
i feel bad for the people who lost their wedding rings and wedding dresses 😭😭
But obviously they didn’t care about it as it was in their checked bag (also airlines list items that shouldn’t be in checked bags as they won’t cover the loss of those items- as obvi many thieves would just say oh umm where’s my $100,000 ring?)- and why would you check a wedding ring? 🤣 unhappy marriage ?
@@candicecart9786 that's not true though? There's many people that just can't find their luggage and the airline doesn't know what happened to it.
We love it! 💕

I hope those were the dresses lost after the ceremonies 🙁
Fidan Ibrahimova I feel like if you lose it after the ceremony it’s even more sad because most women like to keep their dresses as a memory

My mum’s bag was lost and even though it had all her details in it was never returned. When they tell you they return the items if they know who it belongs to that is not true. We had her address on the outside and inside and my wedding book was never returned!

Yes but airline looses more money with reimbursement, I would think. Glad this place isn't in California, I'd be there every day

Every time I go on a plane, I make sure that I put a piece of paper with my address and contact details in every pocket on the suitcase, and also on a hanging tag. I go a bit over the top but I don’t ever want to end up with my bag at one of these places.
That's a good idea, thanks for sharing!

Old suitcases, not much of value but a Foster Kid would truly cherish it as something Special
As a person who has never been reunited with their luggage, this store and video enrage me.
A good tip is put a “name tag” on the outside of the suitcase BUT also put tape in the inside with your name and phone number as well! Most of the outside tags will break and fall off. A lot easier to know who’s luggage it is when they open it up and find a name/ phone number.

That's what I always do
The fact that you and the employees took the time to thoroughly explain how this process works makes me so happy :)
Im sorry for your loss, I can relate. This must be kind of unfair, when you see that someone else is making money of it 😟
This is why I bought luggage that has peacock feathers on it. I was traveling a lot for work and since its soo colorful, it made it easy to see among all the black suitcases.
My sister had the same happen, this is stolen property in my opinion.

I’m with you! I put my info in various places within my bag
I wanna return all the luggage’s back to their owners :(
same i feel so bad for the people that lost things around 40k
Me too. I never understood how airlines could LOSE PEOPLE’s LUGGAGES. These things have tags on them and most people put their address on their tags.
@@TheKimmyomy The tags sometimes get ripped off during transport of the luggage....going down conveyor belts, sliding down chutes, etc. Which is why it is a good idea to keep a tag with information on the inside of the bags too.
Well it’s also the fact they haven’t claimed it too I mean they wait a second for people to claim it and yea yk after a little while they sell it.
For some reason , this makes me mad . It’s cool in a way but a lot of this stuff is irreplaceable to others . It’s sad 😞
Instead of returning the luggage they sell it -_-
@@otakusimp4991 if you actually watched the video, theres a 90 day period and the airline will reimburse the person..and this store has returned many items to their owners by finding personal belongings !
The wedding rings are really killing me. Like how can i prove a 20,000 dollar ring was in my suitcase.. they must go through hell and not get what their stuff is worth..n the fact that airlines are losing this much stuff🤦🏽♀️🥴🥴🥴
I doubt the airlines pay the worth of these items to the owners of the bags
But when you have a connector and the luggage is "sent through" when you arrive and it's lost, you can't check the claims at the stopover 😔

It worked for me
The "deteriorating puppet" is straight up horrifying
I feel bad to the people who lost their items
So many people not approving of that lost luggage store in Alabama. But it has been doing great since 1970. There’s no selling of lost luggage to that store, the luggage isn’t stolen to give to that store, and many people were found to get back their lost items, and a lot have gone there to claim their lost items. Also, the lady said a lot of money goes to good charities. So that’s a positive way in seeing that. And if the clothes are cheap, and still in good condition, it helps people who are on a fixed income. It’s much better than lost luggage being thrown in the garbage and sent to landfills.
We all need a man like Tyler, “both is better then not both” 😂😂

I’m almost certain some fine jewellery are certified and have names registered. If you take them to a store, they would probably be able to locate the owner.
No matter how rich I am, I would be gutted to lose something precious like a wedding ring...

I mean it’s just jewelry. The ring doesn’t define your marriage. You and your husband/wife define the marriage. The ring all it is is a piece of metal that’s it

When you lose luggage, you try to find it. I think they keep it on hold for a couple of months. It’s all part of the airline agreement when you buy a ticket. And the airline reimburses the loser (?) to some extent.
But I get it.
But I still want to go here!
I know what you mean but maybe look at it from the viewpoint that it’s a thrift store and all second hand goods once belonged to someone.
For something that was previously owned and lost, they’re pretty pricey
That’s what I was thinking. I checked the site out and was like yea too expensive for used stuff.....

I agree but so time people leave it and forget,in your case it’s is very annoying
@Makai Threads Cause I was bringing it back home. Grampa gave it to me before dying, then he died, we had the funeral and then I had to fly back home. I'm not careless for literally just bringing my shit home. And at any rate knowing that it could be around one of those shops is just wrong
@Makai Threads yeah, they tell you not to put valuables in checked baggage for a reason. Also tag your bags!!!
Have you tried contacting them??
Look it does suck for you but there was ways to prevent it. In my family we put a luggage tag and also put a piece of paper in the bag with out contact information in case the luggage tag falls off. Also like the others say bring that with you into the plane.
This is so lovely and uplifting hearing about the medical supplies going where they needed and the store manager was so nice - thank you for making this video.
“And these McDonalds arches. Like who was traveling with those?” Ummmm Ronald McDonald.. Duuuhhhh 😂🤣😂❤️
Nah. He'd be able to reclaim them easily. It's more likely they're former fenced goods... stolen by the Burglar, naturally.
This is impossible in my country cause every bag and luggage get a coded lable and the code has the owner's info on the system. And it is not easy to separate the lable. Your luggage can be tracked back to you easily. How come they don't do this in a developed country?
Because people love making money off of others mishaps here. People here care more about money and things than other people. It's sad.
They do do it
I literally just saw a comment section that was full of people blaming a girl for accidentally losing her dead grandpa's heirloom (a ring) just because she was young and forgot to put it on her immediate carry-on.
But sure, let's question the young girl instead of the other people's integrity.
It's like this because of capitalism. Everyone is at each other's throat throats trying to one up each other in the system. Everyone's trying to make money some way somehow even if it means putting others in misfortune.
Because nobody gives a fuck here
Yeah it's also common sense to put your contact info into your luggage. I have my phone number attached to my case in like 3 or 4 different spots.
My mother has the worst luck with lost luggage. It misses a connection or simply never arrived. It is nice to know it went somewhere.
This is cool and all but it doesn’t sit right with me that they’re selling peoples lost things and they’re getting the money for it.

Imagine losing something really important n this lady has it
hey at least someone has it instead of the garbage!
Accepted an offer from the airline to just drop it (eg airline pays out once the bag is missing for a certain amount of time per diem and sometimes they offer you a lump sum of money to just drop the claim altogether as it makes more sense to them monetarily) 🤷🏼♀️
If someone really cared, they could track it down within 90 days as bags are scanned in and so there’s an electronic trail (I’ve had a few bags lost and they always typy typy on their computers and say, “well it was last scanned at x at y o’clock). also the unclaimed bag area (which I’ve been to) in airports logs all the luggage electronically as well- date/flight/name/bag description etc - they grabbed our bags from the carousel bc we were told the wrong one (sign on the carousel was wrong as well) and by the time we asked an airport employee it was already in the unclaimed bag area!!
I've been binge watching her videos for the last week and this is just such a fun channel. Anyone else find a new RUclips channel and then binge watch the whole library???

This cracks me up so much. Born and raised in Huntsville, AL, I’ve always grown up taking random trips there. Never realized how random it is🤣
The online store is huge - I shopped and shopped and gave up 🤭
This seems like a set up to me. Like, the unprocessed bag you’re going through, all the items have tags on them. Everything is way too nice for it to just be lost baggage.
This reminds me of Kelly Stamps story of her Channel bag 🤔
I wonder if they go through it first to find nice baggage and then just don’t process the items yet.
Can we just take a minute and aprichate her organized closet like girl that's just amazing
I don’t understand. So I lose my suitcase and someone benefits from it while all my shit is gone?
Well they give you months to call the airport and get your suitcase, but some people never do so what should the ariport do, throw it away?
They also reimburse you soo
@@nicolemstatler that is the silver lining, but some things are irreplaceable, just sucks to lose your luggage and someone else gets it, means nothing to them and throws out their shit. Lol. That would fucking suck.
@@clrr8400 I am not sure if you listened to the statistics of claimed baggage. 99% of baggage’s get reunited with their owners, that 1% is what people are complaining about lol.
@@nicolemstatler 1% is still alot lol. Especially if let's say 1 million luggages lost, 99% is claimed ( so they say ) 1% is still 10,000 unclaimed luggages.
Just feel bad for them is all
Let me. Lol.
I have sympathy for those who lose their personal effects.
Imagine watching this and seeing your luggage 😂
i was thinking the same thing lmfaoo

I literally cackled. Gafar, gafarr. Lool
Been binging your videos! Glad to know that these valuables didn't just get chucked into a landfill somewhere and instead are getting a second chance!
What's so fun about this store in comparison to regular thrift stores is that the stuff here is actually good. As in like, people usually bring their favorite items on trips since you wanna look good when traveling. But in thrift stores it's stuff that people don't like anymore so its usually old and outdated.
Anyone else think Hopes hair has been stunning lately!
Agreed :)
Yes
I’m literally shook rn. I absolutely love the movie The Labyrinth and the fact that Hoggle is literally in that store is mind blowing to me. I really hope one day I’ll be able to see it
Omg your pfp
Sooo they sell people’s stuff 🤦♀️ I would be so pissed off if I saw my stuff being sold
it's recycling😂
Better than it been thrown away😅
@Soul Eater Then you should have picked it up from the airport 🤣
Pay attention to the video. 90 days people 90 days.

America is wild , here in my develpment country they barcoded your lugagge so it doesnt get lost xD
Arent I phones easy to track?
@@86upsmaya yeah now they are, diff time
I'm not suprised at all.
Inevitably.
As a flight attendant this was awesome to watch. I will definitely be taking a trip to this store!!!!! Btw your nails are amahhhzing!!!! 😍
It’s obvious that most of the people that lost their luggage don’t even care or bother to look for it. 90 DAYS is a long time to get it back, maybe these people preferred to get some money instead
I've known many people who call and call day after day and week after week until they are told - it's been 90 days, do you want some vouchers.8
My mind blown by seeing her closet arranged colour wise
*"Plot twist: they are actually stealing those luggage's"*
The funniest thought;
I order a lost luggage bag from online store and have it shipped to me.
The bag gets LOST IN SHIPMENT
It would be so funny I wouldn’t even be mad. 😂
Imagine going here and buying your lost shit back😭
Omg that be awful! paying for your things twice Damn lol
I'm so glad you found out about how the people were compensated or reunited with their things. At first it felt way too invasive.
Can we just talk about how organised her wardrobe is?
Wait, the store finds the owners if there is something personal and only gives them the personal items back instead of all their belongings?
@@coramccoy would you rather they didn’t take the time to find the owner at all?
@icecream Cake- they explain that they do find the owners though so they have to know where it came from.
@CRoseRT no, quite the opposite if you read my previous comments. if they take the time to find the owners then they should return all goods. If the bag has been truly abandoned and has no owner found a different approach can be taken.
How come this lady have everything sorted in her life like colour cordinated laundry , perfect setup, perfect makeup , perfect face , perfect hair, perfect outfit 😭😭
Imagine the reaction of people who have lost their stuff n watch this video n go like....oh my effin gawwd that's minee!!!!! 😂😂
To anyone reading this, I hope you’re feeling well and having a lovely day! Stay safe and remember to keep smiling in these weird times, sending lots of love from a small RUclipsr❤️ ❤️
This makes me want to buy all the luggage so I can reunite it with the people who it belongs to. I guarantee there are people out there still to this day looking for their wedding dresses and such. There's no amount of being reimbursed for some things. It's just not right to profit off of an airline losing someone's belongings.
It’s sad but what are you gonna do with it when you can’t possibly find out where it goes?
@@terricavoli7997 social media has reconnected many people with their lost things, there was a wedding ring that went viral a few years ago. I’m sure someone who lost a wedding dress or something very sentimental would be posting looking for it. Maybe someone could start a tiktok page to help reunite people.
They did mention.. sometimes its possible to lead it back to the owner..either they find the owner or the owner finds their luggage theough this...the ones that are impossible just gets sell rather than being in the dump ...its not the worst but it is still pretty sad
I'm here for more field trip Hopescope in the future!!!
YAY!! Okay mee too ☺️❤️
Yeah! Love all your videos, and this is probably the coolest!
So it's like a GIGANTIC thrift store with an amazing history😂
I was on a flight looking out the window and saw in one of those vehicles where your suitcases land and realized that they really need a door on the side of them because the bar does nothing.
Suitcases constantly fell out and a couple of people did not want to go back and pick them up. I think they did, but seeing that they couldn’t care less about your lost luggage and did not have a door that prevented the fall out spoke volumes to me.
I prayed that wasn’t my mom’s and I’s luggage considering it happened to us a couple times.
Can we talk about the people that lost those things- man..they have some good style 😳
This is beautiful, I hate when things just get thrown away, and anything that is lost and not claimed would be thrown away without this store. Love the idea of giving a new life to old things
Glad someone said it
Some of those formal/prom-looking dresses could be pageant dresses/gowns for national and international competitions and worth hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on if they are designer (such as Sherri Hill) or custom made.
Omg, my husband wore that Givenchy fragrance when we started dating 13 years ago! I wish I could find a bottle of it now!
What’s it called
Ahhh! Just think of all the irreplaceable souvenirs, favorite blankies, and family heirlooms that were lost. I’m never checking a bag again.
I was in this situation at one time and contacted the airline and they never found my luggage and seeing this really upsets me because there was something I really cared about and it was never returned to me 😢
I wanna go there so bad but I don’t live in America :(
I'll go for you♥
When you said the unclaimed media crew, it sounds like someone was traveling with a media crew and lost them so they ended up in the store😂
Omg hahahahhaa
That's funny.
I go to this place every Saturday & it's crazy to see people making videos talking about how cool/ unique it is. I guess when you live so close it's just normal, but i'm glad travelers get a unique experience.

but i’m broke and can’t afford good ones lol
I'm getting mad watching this video because I'm imagining someone playing half price for my stuff 😡😡😡
And you don’t get the money.
I would fkn sue them
YOU HAVE 90 DAYS TO CLAIM YOUR SUIT CASE!!!!!
