Not true. My fiancé is a TSA officer and they were told the day the pick up a penny that’s been left by passengers is their last day on the job. They make really good money and they have good benefits, so it’s unlikely they want to risk losing their jobs over some people’s craps.
Flying home from a friend’s wedding, my bag was “lost” in St Luis during a change over. I say “lost” because after a week my bag did make it back to me- with all of my belongings picked through and many pieces of my jewelry missing. I ALWAYS pack valuable (read “I don’t want to loose it) items with me in my carry on, but I had been in a rush and super tired after the wedding that I forgot that one time. Never again. They stole the jewelry set she gave me for being her maid of honor, my Pandora bracelet, and a ton of my other costume jewelry 😭 The airline said it must have “fallen out in transit.” Yes, it fell out of the gift box, out of the bag INSIDE my suitcase THEN fallen out of my completely zipped suitcase. No reimbursement since my Bag was technically returned. I was 💯 SOL. I’m still mad when I think about it 😤 Fell out indeed. Super fun video though! I never knew a place like this existed for truly lost luggage! So cool! 😄
When packing items like that people say to take a pic of your luggage with the items inside it, so you can use it later to either sue or for insurance. So you can say to them well I keep a photo record of what I pack and you lost it, so either pay me their value worth or I'll sue you for more.
If it’s smaller pieces sometimes the employees steal it. It’s sad but true, my mom used to work at the airport and have told me that happens to unclaimed bags. I’m sorry that happened to you.
Part of my brain is like “the airports literally say don’t leave bags unattended” because BOMBS and the other part is like, this is so genius. Let’s just hope you’re not on a watch list now 😅
I was once in a short flight where most passengers did not carry any luggage but I did. And when I got to baggage claim, I saw this girl taking off with my Samsonite suitcase. I confronted her, and she told me she had taken my stuff because my suitcase looked exactly like hers. BUT, she didn’t go back to baggage claim. She just left. I think she was a professional thief.

What's involved in checking the luggage for explosive, or other security threats, before initiating the process of returning it to the owner?
Yea that’s what I was thinking. when your luggage gets lost, it’s usually because of incorrect tagging or loading mistakes. Not cause you leave it somewhere.
1:36 you can also show up to earlier flights because sometimes people don’t show up and you can take their seat (works best if you just have carry ons). + put name and address INSIDE the luggage. Hi Hope! As someone who works for my city's police department and arranges abandoned property auctions (no, seriously, I'm that lady), I can tell you that a large number of the items from these auctions come from the inside of cars that were impounded, processed, and never claimed from the police impound lot. After 60 days, this stuff becomes the property of the police department and we hold an auction once or twice per year to sell off all of these things, even the cars they came in (if the car is worth more than $750, otherwise it goes to the junkyard). We get some of the craziest stuff that's never picked up, including weapons and laptops. Just thought you might like to know! Great video!
I've had it happen to people I know. One of the lost luggage involved paintings worth thousands of dollars. They forced him to check in the bag and he said he saw the bag come off the plane but somehow he never got it. He thinks an employee stole them. Lesson: always fight to carry your valuables with you! No matter what they say.
I don't put valuables in my checked luggage but I still worry just because I want my clothes and underwear on my vacation and don't want to have to be hunting down essentials at stores on my vacation, boring...lol.
I love the unclaimed baggage center! I didn't realize they had an online site. When you first walk through the door, there's a fun tiny little museum of things they found that are especially unique.
It's so much fun to go lmao. I used to live in the neighboring town of Stevenson(😒 horrible place, super boring lol) and Scottsboro was the closest place we could find entertainment without having to travel far 😂
Luckily they don't send out the suitcases. A friend of mine traveled with her dildo. I had to pick up her luggage for her. She was going to pick it up from my house. Eventually she asked that I mail certain items to her. She was so embarassed because she forgot that she put it in there. So that makes me wonder do they have a "personal" care items of just throw them away.
I was a flight attendant for 4 years and someone took my crew bag off of them plane with them- and did not leave a bag behind so I wasn’t sure if it was a mistake or not. I had to get sent home from work, I cried for 2 days because it had my whole life in it: my car keys, house keys, passport, wallet, iPad, Nintendo switch, a hat from my mom, etc. all I had was my crew ID, and luckily my phone that had been in my pocket. Then delta called me and said they had my bag, I burst into tears and ran to work to get it, terrified it had been dumped and all my belongings would be gone. EVERYTHING was inside. In fact they hadn’t even moved my lunch out of the front pocket to reveal all my valuables. It must have been a real mistake, but man did I advocate for fixing the locked bins for crew members after that (my bag had been in the locked bin but it did not work).
I started adding apple tags to the inside of my luggage where they can't be found. It helped me once when I arrived one flight later than my luggage due to delays.
Okay- that lost or mishandled thing brought back memories! We were coming home from Florida and it was around one am. We go to baggage claim, only to find out that my sisters bag (which we stored all of our dirty clothes in) got dragged across the landing area after landing. The bag was totally destroyed (we did get money to get a new one) and maybe 1/3 of our clothes, which we had to pick through the next morning to see what was destroyed. Lucky me and my sister were both young, so we didn’t have really expensive clothes and we were growing out of stuff pretty fast. It was a crazy experience, though.
That's what I was thinking! What if they lost something *really* sentimental and valuable? How will they get it back from Hope? Because she will either donate it to someplace or she might get thousands of DMs saying it's their luggage, how will Hope identify the true owner? Damn!
I’m not interested in anything this channel is about, but I always end up so invested in watching all of these videos from this woman 🤣 I felt bad always watching and never subscribing so I finally did.
I’m pretty sure intentionally leaving something at tsa / security IS illegal… because then it becomes a security threat and they might have to call the bomb squad or something. I feel like she might at least face a fine for doing that.
This was such an interesting idea for a video! I've always wondered how the unclaimed baggage store works. I love the way you did different experiments and the way you explained everything, including how many bags actually are reunited! Less than 1% lost isn't that bad; I thought it was way higher!
The dedication sis 👏 Delta is pretty good with returning your luggage, lost mine in between transfers to Germany, they paid me $500 worth to spend on clothing until my luggage gets to me, which took 3 days.
This is one of the best, most interesting videos ever! I was on the edge of my seat. It was like true crime for clothing addicts🤣 I was so worried you were going to get in trouble, can’t wait for part two!
I flew to Texas from Oregon, one of my bags was lost. It never showed up at the pick up turnstile, when I went to get it. However, the airline ended up finding it and actually brought it to me 2 hours from the airport. I was impressed!
I went to the Unclaimed Baggage Store and everything was suspiciously new...Like I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out that they flip wholesale liquidation pallets. I find it hard to believe they find SO many brand new duplicate items.....Plus it was very expensive.
I can't believe they only give you 3 days! What if you travel for work and were out of town again? Or just not in a place where you could go pick it up from the baggage office? You'd think they'd ship it to you if they have your info. 🤔
My carry-on had to be gate checked due to lack of room. They mistagged it with someone else’s name, so it got lost. I followed it online as it went across the country-twice. It was several days before I got it back, but everything was there. The feeling of your stuff traveling out of your control sucks, even if there just things, they’re yours. This video was JUST what I needed. 😊 Advice, check your baggage claim ticket before boarding, no matter how rushed you feel. Make sure that small print has your name and final dest city. The baggage handlers check the barcode and the final destination city. Your name and description are secondary to them.
I worked for cruise line but we were working out of the airport. Delta was “the absolute best” and I’ve always had good things to say about their urgency to get the customers back their luggage. I even had a chance to help a customer get reunited with her wedding gown. 🙂
Girl, your editing though. I mean it’s SO GOOD! I love going back a few years and watching Baby Hope videos, it’s crazy how far you’ve come with your channel. You are extremely talented. Also hilarious and gorgeous, so there’s that. #hopeisgoals
I once had a bag lost for 2 weeks...it finally came back to me, witg everything still in it. But get this.. my bag went to like five states and two countries...that bag had quite a vacation!
I usually ship my clothes to my destination. It’s cheaper than the baggage fees. I travel with a handicapped individual and not having to deal with anything more than a small carry on is great. I go thrifting for summer clothes when in warmer climate areas.
…and in a strange twist of fate, it turned out that Hope purchased a suitcase filled with new with tags clothes from someone who was also performing an experiment to see if her bag would be returned 😂 But seriously, this was really fascinating.
Omg this is not okay.. I work at TSA and unattended baggages are a high risk. You should not treat this as a joke. 🥺 I really do not appreciate this experiment of yours. In most of the cases we are required to even call the police because it is treated as a threat. Please do not do this again and waste so many resources for the sake of a video..

We get some of the craziest stuff that's never picked up, including weapons and laptops. Just thought you might like to know! Great video!
PLEASE SEND THE LINK TO THE SIGHT!! I LOST MY CHILDHOOD BEST-FRIEND STUFFED ANIMAL!! AND I NEED TO GET HIM BACK!!
Thanks so much for this, just gave me a great idea for charity cars..
Losing my luggage a day never getting it back is seriously one of my worst fears!
My luggage for "lost" once. The airport called me the next day and found it and it had everything in jt
Ikr she's making everyone nightmares on her own person she's really brave!!!😅👏
I love the unclaimed baggage center! I didn't realize they had an online site. When you first walk through the door, there's a fun tiny little museum of things they found that are especially unique.
I can’t believe how far she went for this 😂 I’ve been to the unclaimed baggage store and it is definitely an interesting place!
Where is this store?
@@cclovelacegrace unclaimed baggage in Scottsboro, Alabama
Fun!
I know I live about 45 minutes away from Unclaimed Baggage! I love going there.
It's so much fun to go lmao. I used to live in the neighboring town of Stevenson(😒 horrible place, super boring lol) and Scottsboro was the closest place we could find entertainment without having to travel far 😂
I would be scared to find the wrong suitcase like "personal" items 😆
That would be... interesting...
I live in the unclaimed baggage town lol. I love that store. They used to be cheaper before it appeared on Oprah.
You can actually get in huge trouble for leaving a bag because of bombs and drugs
People don't leave bags of drugs and no one has ever left a bomb in luggage either.
and its unlikely you would get past the x-ray machine with either of those in your bags.
People are so fucking dramatic Jesus Christ
@@Andreawbs its literally airport security protocol, not people being dramatic😂
@@seanbam1130 okay but it was fine and nothing happened so shut the fuck up about it
Where’s part 2? I can’t done it anywhere and I need to know what happened! lol I just found your channel today and have been obsessed already!!
Haha Hope “if I get arrested for this, I don’t know I guess Leo is getting upgraded to main host.”😂🎤🐶
Hope: “looses” her luggage
Also hope: Buys someone else’s luggage until they find hers :)
Loses*
So its cap?
Omg that colourful bag is so cool!!!
Should’ve put airtags in them to track them!
Oo never heard of those; I should get some!
Nothing excites me more than seeing the “Hopescope just posted a video” notification!! Great start to my day :)
I started adding apple tags to the inside of my luggage where they can't be found. It helped me once when I arrived one flight later than my luggage due to delays.
This shows how much Hope cares about us picking the right airline so we can get our luggage back. Thank you Hope☺
4:22: Sorry Lisa, I hope you found your new Coachella outfit😂😂😂😂
Imagine someone is watching right now and sees their lost luggage!!!!
That's what I was thinking! What if they lost something *really* sentimental and valuable? How will they get it back from Hope? Because she will either donate it to someplace or she might get thousands of DMs saying it's their luggage, how will Hope identify the true owner?
Damn!
Like someone who spots their wedding dress.
you should've put airtags inside the bags so u can kinda track where they end up
I’m not interested in anything this channel is about, but I always end up so invested in watching all of these videos from this woman 🤣 I felt bad always watching and never subscribing so I finally did.
Hope is my literal sister-I’ve watched her so long I feel like she’s my best friend!
I agree
“What’s something that is not illegal but feels illegal"😂 Omg I love her❤️
I’m pretty sure intentionally leaving something at tsa / security IS illegal… because then it becomes a security threat and they might have to call the bomb squad or something.
“It’s sad but it always attracts me to this store.” Story of my life! 😂
Is it weird that I feel like I could be friends irl with Hope? She’s so relatable!
I hope too there is no illegal stuff before shipping. Lol
Right!?! She's amazing!
Right
Facts!!!
Lol no you’re not weird
I love the editing of this video. Right when we get too excited, we have to reminded of the travesty that comes with the lost luggage store.
Me: “Oh snap! Hope has a new video out!”
My boyfriend: “Let me know if Tyler does a sock review” 💗
The dedication sis 👏
Delta is pretty good with returning your luggage, lost mine in between transfers to Germany, they paid me $500 worth to spend on clothing until my luggage gets to me, which took 3 days.
This is a surprisingly well researched video instead of just a stunt. Bravo!! 👏
Can we just take a minute to appreciate that hope spends her money to review things to let us not get scammed from websites and also entertain us
That's because you are not the flight attendant or an airport employee. She is selfish
This is one of the best, most interesting videos ever! I was on the edge of my seat. It was like true crime for clothing addicts🤣 I was so worried you were going to get in trouble, can’t wait for part two!
Hey! Im in SLC too! I am so happy i came across this video, now im intrigued by this lost luggage store 😂
The wedding dress is stunning! Totally fits like a glove too. 💕
Southwest just kept my grandpa's laptop "by mistake" and 2 weeks later they found it. They are shipping it to him but making him pay for it 😒
I flew to Texas from Oregon, one of my bags was lost. It never showed up at the pick up turnstile, when I went to get it. However, the airline ended up finding it and actually brought it to me 2 hours from the airport. I was impressed!
No😭
I went to the Unclaimed Baggage Store and everything was suspiciously new...Like I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out that they flip wholesale liquidation pallets.
EXCELLENT VIDEO. FRIM THE EDITING TO POINT OF INTEREST!! Great job !
The commitment to find out the legitimacy of this experiment is REAL lolllll
Wow you’re the real MVP.
South west airlines lost just 1 of my shoes and it was SO frustrating
I'm confused how this could happen, lol.
The wedding dress is perfect for a CHEESECAKE FACTORY date! 😂
Hi Hope, I just want to tell you that this is probably the most creative and interesting video you've uploaded so far :)
I worked for cruise line but we were working out of the airport. Delta was “the absolute best” and I’ve always had good things to say about their urgency to get the customers back their luggage. I even had a chance to help a customer get reunited with her wedding gown. 🙂
This was a wild experiment!!
“Did you find it?… Well yeah, it came in on the flight with you” I would feel so embarrassed!!
I didn't understand that part... So did they get the backpack back or not?
I died at that part
“because it’s so sad, and that’s what attracts me to this store” 🤣👏🏼
“If you were gonna put ashes in something, it’d be something that actually closes riiight??”🥴😂😂
I live like a half hour away from Unclaimed Baggage, I was shocked when I saw she came all the way out here. No one ever comes here on purpose lol
Love how you had the thought to lose bags intentionally 😂 I could NEVER!
“ what’s something that feels illegal but is notnot illegal”.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I loved the "suddenly a True Crime channel, but only when it has to do with clothing."
Girl, your editing though. I mean it’s SO GOOD! I love going back a few years and watching Baby Hope videos, it’s crazy how far you’ve come with your channel. You are extremely talented. Also hilarious and gorgeous, so there’s that. #hopeisgoals
I can't get over how generous you are. You have a special place in heaven waiting for you. I hope to see you there.
Dye the wedding dress to make it an evening dress for an event!! And it would make a good video
Wow !!! That’s horrible “ sister” airlines. But how fun to put a theory to the test!🤗🤣
Wow that is brilliant
@@hopescope I’ve also learned that the kitchen will cut up a steak before serving. Warm meals are a rarity.
…and in a strange twist of fate, it turned out that Hope purchased a suitcase filled with new with tags clothes from someone who was also performing an experiment to see if her bag would be returned 😂
But seriously, this was really fascinating.
She bought those individually
My parents used to drive lost luggage and deliver it to people! It was actually a very interesting side gig. And they did it before gps!
I thoroughly enjoyed this lost luggage series 😂 I wonder if they have something similar like this in Australia
I wanna know more about you and Tyler’s story!!!
I just found you today and this is like the 4th video I watched. Love your content
When you click the RUclips link to Hopes video not knowing what it’s about. Literally love these vids
You’re so lucky they didn’t accuse you of leaving bags with bombs 😂
Very true
Omg. That bag of “dirt” in the vase was very possibly someone’s ashes. Why else would it be in there in a bag like that?
“She’s a mammoth of course “ I screamed hahahahaH😂
Omg this is not okay.. I work at TSA and unattended baggages are a high risk. You should not treat this as a joke. 🥺 I really do not appreciate this experiment of yours. In most of the cases we are required to even call the police because it is treated as a threat. Please do not do this again and waste so many resources for the sake of a video..
Hello, love your videos. My uncle use to be a police chief. Clothing from the police is generally items confiscated from drug dealers or others whose personal property is confiscated because they bought the items with ill gotten gains
Haha “ that makes me uncomfy, like who did this stuff belong to?”🤣
Now that's something new to me, my local airlines don't sell unattended baggages 😅
it's the only place in the country that does
I been binge watching theses I seen a few of ur videos before I just noticed a comment from my self so ovb I seen this one before but I’ll rewatch lol 😂 sense yesterday I been watching lost packages videos and some stuff is crazy 😅
At first when she said car I was like “who’s loosing a car at airport security” 😂😂😂
