In poetry, stressed unstressed unstressed is called a dactyl. But I bet you knew that! Very exciting as an English teacher to see this as I’m interested in teaching my students to merge hip hop/rap and poetry scientifically. So cool
Exactly how I have always imagined a perfect rap flow lesson. One topic at time. Inspired by known song. Reminding of basics without being condensending. Real life application with original example. With differention used to enhance understanding. I'm a teacher (math and yoga) and a student (music, rap and life) myself and this makes my heart, mind and soul happy. If you ever make a full size rap course I'm buying it for sick info and to honor your mission, bro. Love from Poland.
Maaaan I’ve seen your short videos on insta a few times, you got a fan after dissecting my goat with actual nuance and attention to detail. Editing to say you’re 100% on point with comparing the style to jazz. Lupes mentioned that exact idea himself before online as well as a quote off the opening track of samurai “first we laugh we singin jazz in the streets”
The examples (like INtricate toMAto) along with the images of the rhythms make this so clear for something with so much info packed into 5:43 Find your stuff very good new angle to see rythim in general from. I've heard a couple of guitarists recomending a listen to good rappers to get you out of the box you don't realise you've built round yourself. Subbed and hope channel does well
Incredible work sir, you're one of the best I've ever seen at making these concepts digestible and entertaining to study, hope you and yours are well brother
Have you read Martin Connor’s Rap Analysis Blogs from around 2014? I feel like you and him would get along real well as you both seem to share a real similar perception of the intricacies of rap. I love your stuff man! Keep teaching!
@@MazbouQ YT mighta dq’d my previous comment bc I tried to include a link but I think you’re correct, the Talib Q was probably him. You should google his Nas’ rap analysis though bc I think it ties out real nicely with your teachings. Keep teaching bro! You’re great!
Incredible breakdowns & skill in the way you deliver your examples! I would love to see some breakdown of Ren with the Hunger as he goes through at least 7 different flows in that one (and in general does a lot of flow & style switches).
Also Prof is a master at flow switches and unique cadences and styles. Or straight banging flow from Pete & Bas… although there are less ‘clean’ lines to use as examples 😅
Thanks teach, look forward to the next rapology 102 lecture. (I say 102 cause every other reactor or someone who does rap study or breakdowns is on some 101 shit) P.s. your accent is so effing wild. Like bruh it's like American, mixed with African mixed with kiwi or Aussie or something. Like bruh chill. Save some of the girls for the rest of us aye haha
Hey I would love a video on Future, he's been in the game for a long time and always managed to adapt to new trends or create and expand them. He has a variety of flow styles and I would love to know how he does that, and if all his flows have a pattern in common with each other, if you know what i'm saying
If you can find a way to do this for playboi carti , i recommend his newer self leaked songs, you can definitely get a lot of views from it, biased aside I love what you do and I think it would benefit you bc many people would be interested in if thereres really a flow there or not

Man I can't WAIT to see you break down Em's art. You sir truly have a PHD when it comes to raps, love your technical breakdowns, keep it up!!!
crazy how the the album has jazz themes throughout. Good vid
It’s an Amy winehouse album concept if you haven’t dug into it. Lupe plays most of the trumpet on there as well.
Keep up the quality content! I’m always surprised that you’re not more popular
This channel is amazing! I'm going to share this with my students!
Wow, thanks for the lesson. I really appreciate it.
Thank you 🙏
Good shit man do more

If its what I'm thinking about, I had a brief look at something of his involving Talib Kweli. Definitely good stuff!

Mean bro, didn't know you were here in NZ. Keep up the good work.
we need to get you in schools bro
I would love to see you breakdown the 3rd verse in Lupe's song Adoration of Magi from tetsuo and youth.
Rigamortis is my favorite

I think JPEGMAFIA in Steppa Pig last verse has something interesting with his flow, I don't exactly know what it is, but it's great.
