Thank you so much CY. I followed your video and managed to make my DF54 work again. You mentioned you never had any problem with your DF54 and you mentioned it's user problem. Could you share with us the correct way to use and clean it in order to avoid it suddenly stop grinding? Thank you.
I think you are right on user error I have had my DF54 for months with daily use for both espresso and pourover and never had one incidence of choking or clogging, the de-ioniser needs a tiny artists paintbrush up the chute to clean off the prongs after 2 or 3 uses to keep static under control. retention is always sub 0.2g and anyone thinking of getting this DO IT, I also have a NIche Zero for 2 years and use both daily as I like to compare conical and flat burr coffee profiles.
The part that is causing the chirping does not involve in the grinding for the espresso burrs and the outer rim of the burrs are flat. Besides, the touching is only briefly and hence it's all right.
A gentle touch between the burrs is fine as long as it's not rubbing each other for a prolonged period of time and the sound when the burrs touches should be just chirping and not screeching.
I feel like just using blind shakers are superior to all the hassle integrated declumpers cause. Better declumping and no regrinding or clogging issues. Super Lube is a popular thread grease here in the states.
But what if the grinder gets choked every 3-4 grind sessions? That is the case with mine. This much maintenance every 3-4 cups of coffee is not sustainable.
My grinder just arrived today, haven't used it but I have the breville barista express with the grinder included. Maybe you're grinding too fine also try spraying your beans with water and give them a little shake? If it doesn't work maybe try different fresher roasted beans. If that does not work either maybe your machine is defective or it's not aligned?
Try to pour in the beans while the grinder motor is on. I have no issue with the grinder choking u less you are grinding too fine or pouring too much beans at one go.
Im gonna be that guy, I’d be pissed if I paid for this “general service & cleaning”. I expected more than poking coffee out with a allen key and cleaning with a brush & vacuum cleaner.
@@CaffeMartellaSingapore I understand the need to make a living and work shouldn't be free, but if I pay for a service like this I would expect more than what you showed in the video. as an example, I was really looking forward to you opening up the plasma generator, maybe testing it to see if it is working, doing a more in depth cleaning on that, perhaps taking the burrs apart to clean them exec.
@waldip4474 this is the gen 1 without the plasma ioniser. int t his situation, the choking is due to loading too much beans at one goal. And hence the job is the remove the clog and the choke coffee ground.
New owner of a DF54 here. Very helpful video! Thanks!

Doesn't the chirping that happens when you align the zero point damage the burrs ? Sounds like they are grinding against each other.
The part that is causing the chirping does not involve in the grinding for the espresso burrs and the outer rim of the burrs are flat. Besides, the touching is only briefly and hence it's all right.
This was a very helpful video. Is it really OK to grind to the zero point while it's running?
A gentle touch between the burrs is fine as long as it's not rubbing each other for a prolonged period of time and the sound when the burrs touches should be just chirping and not screeching.
Wondering if this is a common problem with DF54? Was thinking of getting this, slightly worried, and am wondering how to prevent this from happening 😅
It's not a common problem for the df54. But it seems to be a common problem for people who don't know how to use this grinder or coffee beginners.

Hi thanks for sharing and it's greatly appreciated.
Hi CY, i would be scared to clean my grinder . Mine is the DF 64 first model .

@@CaffeMartellaSingapore that would be great thank you so much.😊

Hi I can't speak Behasa Melayu. Sorry my friends. But I think you are asking for Gemilai CRM 3149. Soon I will be doing some videos on this machine.

Well. We spend time doing it and we will have to charge as we have rental and fees to pay.

@@CaffeMartellaSingapore are you not referring to the df64? I was not aware that there is a gen2 of the DF54
