      More like 6 years ago. There are certain ones from our long distant past (before the channel took off) that we occasionally update, both for quality improvement reasons and sometimes, as this one, content itself, as when we wrote it before it was still copyrighted and all that. Don't like to do that too often, but sometimes beneficial, especially ones that nobody watched because it was from back when the channel only got a few thousand views per video or the like. -Daven

      Today I Found Out ,right on. It’s crazy how time passes. I been watching since back then and I’ve been so happy to watch the channel and the other grow like unattended weeds. Like I said before, rereleases aren’t a bed thing especially when the content is as good as it is. Also, I didn’t think about it but doing so with a video that had very few views is pretty smart because as you said not many people saw it cause you weren’t a huge channel but the content was still awesome, so, yeah, it’s a good idea also because it give you more time to work on other projects. The copyright part just make good business since.
      Anyway, than you so much again for always giving us such wonderful content and with said content, your time and energy that comes along with it. Thank you, I really mean it, thanks.
      All that being said, take care, stay safe, and keep the awesomeness rolling out! Peace.

Turned out she left me a part of her life insurance policy. It was a decent amount. I'm buying a house with it, with the intent to make it a halfway house of sorts. Can you do a video on accents within former British colonies and how they evolved over time? Australia, Canada, India, and the US all have decidedly different accents but at some point, should have been common with the UK.

    • @sidecharactermoment3223
      @sidecharactermoment3223 4 года назад +1

      Only english accents in US, Canada and Australia (in this example) “evolved” though, because they were european settlers whose ancestors still constitute the majority of those countries. Whereas for India and other colonised countries (which the europeans didn’t settle in but eventually left), the accent didnt evolve, rather just meshed together with the way regional languages were spoken to have a completely new accent. Slightly different things but still both would be super interesting to learn about.

    • @dariusanderton3760
      @dariusanderton3760 4 года назад +1

      Well, I think the starting points for all these accents were not the same to begin with. Parts of Ontario and Manitoba (in Canada) initially had a lot of Scottish people partly because the climate was so cold and the Scottish were believed to be more suited to farming and trading in this area.. I think the Newfoundland and Maritimes area of Canada had a lot of Irish people and fishermen, and the Newfoundland accent today sounds a bit Irish to me. I think the New England area was initially settled by people from southern England . I think the Appalachian mountains area of he US was a lot of people from Ulster / Northern Ireland / the Scots-Irish. I think there were lots of people from Northern England who migrated to the US midwest and Canadian prairies in the mid and late 1800s and I am descended from this group. At the time of the 1840s potato famine the Irish Catholics seemed to prefer the US more than Canada, while Irish Protestants seemed to prefer Canada. The British who moved to India were perhaps more middle and upper class than the British who moved to other colonies, since they were there as administrators and military. Most of them left India eventually, but I'm sure this influenced the English spoken there. These are all generalizations but I have noticed this over the years. I'm making a complete guess that maybe the people who were sent to Australia were more likely to be urban poor (such as Cockneys) and Irish.

If I remember right, I was like the 2nd person to check it out, I don't know if many other students' checked it out after I had, it did't look all that well read. At that time, however, a lot of the symbols of the German Army were popular with the "wild kids" a black IRON CROSS was a popular device on the drivers side back window of our old 50's cars, and back then the swastika decorated the back of many of my notebooks.

    Yes, the Walther PPK is the Bond pistol.
    It is in fact German; made by the German Walther company since 1930 and its acronym stands for Polizeipistole Kriminal (roughly, but not literally, Undercover Detective Pistol)
    Its also genuinely a good pistol for its use as a holdout weapon for the type of work Bond does, because- short version, thats exactly what it was designed to do. Personal Defense for plainclothes personnel in shady situations.
    Long version- its small and thin, easily concealable, and has a decent capacity for its size. The .32ACP cartridge is seen as anemic by some, but given that youre only supposed to use it in either sub-100ft (30m for the Euros out there) engagements as a way to fend off your attackers whilst you get away or in extremely close quarters where things like muzzle velocity and Energy Transfer Coefficient do not matter because 8 pea-sized lumps of lead moving at nearly the speed of sound into your chest from 2 feet away will kill you just as dead as anything else, it does its job just fine.

    It should also be mentioned that Alan Cranston, later a U.S. Senator from California, published a bootleg version of Mein Kampf in the United States.
    From Wikipedia:
    Cranston was a correspondent for the International News Service for two years before World War II. When an abridged English-language translation of Adolf Hitler's was released, sanitized to exclude some of Hitler's anti-semitism and militancy, Cranston published a different translation (with annotations) that he believed reflected the contents of the book more accurately. In 1939, Hitler's publisher sued him for copyright violation in Connecticut; a judge ruled in Hitler's favor and publication of the book was halted, but by then a half million copies had been sold, helping inform a wide audience about the threat Hitler posed.
