@@Laura-jr3djSamee 😭 we havent started learning romeo and juliet yet but we are are gonna start tmrw bc thats when we come back from easter holidays. im learning everything before hand 😭
@@Laura-jr3dj thats what I'm thinking 😭 and the teacher we have is extremely strict so im trying to learn absolutely everything before hand, she only told us to read the book for the holidays but im learning absolutely everything so i know whats shes waffling about 🤣
For Romeo and Juliet it was How love is presented by Juliet (to mostly Romeo ig) For Christmas Carol it was How Scrooge is presented as greedy (theme of greed) 2023
Structure is cyclical as the start (prologue) references R+J dying and the story ends with their deaths. Story is structured to build emotion until the end because the audience knows the fate of the protagonists from the start and eventually the ending causes sorrow as they played right into their fate. Hope that helps.
PLEASE SIR MAY YOU DO A VID FOR THE 10 KEY QUOTES + ANALYSIS FOR THE SIGN OF FOUR i really need some good stable quotes that can be applied across all themes of the So4
the question can't be about love as the sample papers already include love in 2 out of the 3 one of them is literally attitudes to love and the other one is romeo's attitudes to love and last year's was very similar to love so i feel this year might be fate and destiny but i'm in year 10 so i have absolutely no clue
i’m really hoping it will be on fate/destiny or something that links with that because there’s so much to say on that and a lot of quotes can be referenced to it
i was just wondering if you will ever do videos covering " the sign of four"??? im doing that for my gcse however not much information about it.... i would really appreciate it if you could do a video like this on it.
Don't want to patronise you lol but I'll just explain it really deeply for my own revision too In the exam, you're given an extract from the play. For example, they could show you a snippet of Act 3 Scene 1. They will then ask you a question (such as "how is family honour presented? Refer to power and conflict within the extract, and power and conflict within the play as a whole"). The teacher is saying to write a paragraph about the provided extract, then another about another scene in the play, and then one about the extract, and then one about another scene in the play. You can do this in any order, but I'd recommend if you can that you write your paragraphs in order of which they happen (so I could write about Act 1 Scene 1 BEFORE Act 3 Scene 1, which is the extract, to get credit for being chronological). In each paragraph, you need to state your overall point (e.g "structurally, Shakespeare beginning Act 1 Scene 1 in meda res...", or "another portrayal of violence and conflict is Shakespeare's revealing of it in scenes centred around love..."). You should then make a reference to the text with quotes that support your point (e.g "the "fiery" character Tybalt aggressively exclaims how he "hates" peace...", or "Friar Lawrence warns that "violent delights have violent ends" while discussing with Romeo..."). You should explain the technique of what you've quoted (e.g refering to structure, form, language, etc). When explaining, you can include the context of the play in your explanation, but should definitely write about the effect of the technique used. When zooming in, pick out a specific part of the quote you're analysing (such as "violent"), and go in depth with an explanation about its effects, and why the writer may have chosen this. Then, link your point back to the question
@@bethaniie_ Thanks but where can I answer the qs (explore how Shakespeare presents Romeo’s feelings towards Juliet) in these 4 extracts and what is the advantage of writing own quote , if the extract is already given
the non extract question is commenting on the entire text and wgat purpose shakespeare was trying to achieve and how successfully his putpose was achieved. for the secoond part you don't analyse and you must memorise quotes and refer to other parts of the play.
