Exactly! This what I want! Love Sarah for not caving-in to crazy Oikawa fans evangelizing/pestering every haikyuu reactor that they should like/love Oikawa the way they do! (this early-on)
I like that Oikawa's a layered character. He casts this cavalier and clownish attitude, but deep down he's dead serious about volleyball. They do a great job of reflecting this duality in the story. The shot of Oikawa slowly opening his eyes after the time out always makes make me feel like he is monster waking up from a nap.
Basically, Oikawa feels like a real high schooler who is popular, successful, confident, yet is childish and still has a bit of inferiority complex. He's a growing boy. And he will be better when he grows up ;)
@@introvertedscibby8795 One thing that I feel like Haikyuu does really well, compared to other sports manga/anime and ESPECIALLY Western sports films, is not having a "villain" team. As others have stated, they're high school boys with all that that implies. Some of them are cocky and arrogant, maybe even a little mean, but they're just kids at the end of the day.
A bit about Japanese: The Oikawa fangirls calling Takinoue "old guy" sounds super rude, but this is just one of those things that is really hard to translate into English. They call him "ojisan," literally "uncle," and that's a perfectly respectful thing to call a man of a certain age. Problem is, Takinoue is, I think, still in his 20s, and does not consider himself to be of "uncle" age yet. He would much rather be called "oniisan" or "big brother."
@@seekittycat That's probably the closest equivalent English has, although it lacks the nuance of specific age categories. Takinoue would be equally crushed by a small child calling him "ojisan."
Btw, all Oikawa's abilities are all skills. That's why the title is saying he's not a genius. He worked hard to get to where he is currently. Like Noya said, he failed a lot with his serves before. He practiced and got better.
Everyone abilities are skills. That’s the definition. You can’t be at a high level without practicing a lot, that’s how it works. What does genius mean exactly ? You should be careful on how you respond because your answer will define if you understood the whole Haikyu concept.

@@irem8513 Bro. Where tf did I say that geniuses don't have to work hard? Where? Hm? Cause I didn't. Y'all really love assuming people are stupid and think being a genius means they don't work hard. Anyone in their right mind who have watched the show, know Kageyama has put up the work.
This was so uplifting to watch. 19:30 Sarah's response makes Tanaka's vulnerability hit that much harder. 18:00 "Or ... the other guy, I think his name starts with an 'E'?" Honestly, I'm super impressed that Sarah can even remember that Ennoshita exists at this point. Especially only watching an episode every once in a while. Sadly, Ennoshita won't have his moment for quite a few more episodes...
Bro I completely forgot about ennoshita when I was in this episode. In the next season I had to go back to the first season to remember that he was there and they didn't just add him out of nowhere. Sarah seriously impresses me with names
Same! A lot of other reactors don't even remember that they've seen him before Season 2 lmao. Sarah really pays attention to a lot of small details, and I think it might be because she rewatches the previous episodes when she makes a new reaction.
Oikawa is one of those characters that have this kind of irritating personality. He is cocky, childish and to immature sometimes. But underneath that layer of personality there is this determination, strength and observant person l. Which is shown in games. That makes him somewhat unique. He felt almost human. The realistic human in this fictional world, not just 1 dimensional character but a really complex. Whether, you hate him or love him, it can't be denied that he is interesting to watch

Great reaction as always, our queen Sarah! The frustrating thing about Kageyama's mindset as a player during his middleschool and this season is how he always thinks he is the only one responsible for the game (whether it's in a good way or a bad way), everything is his fault, and his lack of communication skills does not help, but you are absolutely right "he is not there quite yet" is the perfect way to summarise his playstyle right now! Also roast oikawa all you want we all do that too because it's funny as hell, but we can all agree that as a player he is truly something else and is truly admirable.
The saddest thing is that it’s not Kageyama’s fault if he is like that. He is very vulnerable psychologically and the events in his life at this era didn’t helped him. He could have been the greatest since the beginning without that (but there would have been no plot lmaooo)
@@childe6300 what is funny in Haikyu is that all this « drama » is mostly implied, the watcher/reader has to make things together to really understand a character. That’s what makes this manga well written.
aahhh her reaction to tanaka!!! it's such a treat seeing the somewhat unexpected emotional kickback from his immense mental fortitude, i'm super stoked for her s4 reactions!!
The title ended up praising oikawa. He's this good IN SPITE of not being a genius. Kageyama may be a prodigy/phenomenon but Oikawa had to grind to get to the level he's at now. I think he's earned the right to be cocky.
SPOILER AND SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THREAD: TBH I always dislike that because being able to understand teammates is also a type of genius. Both Oikawa and Kageyama grinds volleyball like crazy, if anything Kageyama started even younger and grinds even more then Oikawa it's just that they're genius at two different things. Where as Kageyama is a athletic genius who does volleyball without effort Oikawa is a genius at people and can read strangers he never played with without effort. EQ is always super underated in sports :c it's changing though.
@@seekittycat yeah I think so too. So what if he can't toss as accurately as Kageyama? He still makes it work, and he's definitely someone you'd want to have on your team. Plus his serves seem to be quite a big deal, so that's worth noting too. Maybe that's something where he's better than others 🤷🏻♀️
@@seekittycat you're missing the point. A genius is someone who's just born to be good at something and someone like Oikawa had to work hard at bring good. Kageyama grinds, but they're basically just to hone his skills and improve. Oikawa grinds to literally be better. If Kageyama trains his serves, it's to make it better while Oikawa trains his serves to be useful is games.
@@vailingbow1068 But Oikawa is also naturally a genius, something that Kageyama would never match that's all I'm saying. I'll argue that Oikawa's extreme talent is even more important the Kageyama's and it's unfair that people overlook Oikawa's EQ as something irrelevant and unimportant for volleyball (especially as a SETTER wtf). Sports isn't only about athletic ability, the attitude and mind games is super important. Oikawa is easily MVP from that alone and it's why Kageyama admires Oikawa so much, because Kageyama is naturally bad at reading people (which you NEED as a setter). Kageyama grinds the same way as everyone does and I'm not sure where you got the impression that Kageyama doesn't work just as hard to stay in the game. We literally start off the series with his trauma of being benched and abandoned by his whole team.
@@seekittycat both of them are my favourite haikyuu characters but i hate how many people consider oikawa this hard-working (he is!) underdog but ignore the fact that kageyama worked just as hard as him. SPOILER i'm pretty sure haikyuu itself at some point questions calling certain players geniuses and ignoring their hard work "because they have natural talent so they have it much easier" 🙄
Hello Sarah! Thank you for introducing me to volleyball and this show! I just played my first beach volleyball game a few weeks ago and even though we lost every set it was so much fun!
I just love to see Sarah’s love-hate perspective of Oikawa in these past few episodes 😆 Also, great insights as always! It’s always an experience to get to laugh and learn so much all at the same time from Sarah’s reactions! Cheering you on for your future matches! 🙌🏼
I can't wait for Sarah's reaction to the next episode aka the "Suga episode", it's one of my absolute favorite episodes of the series and I think as someone who loves Suga a lot she would really enjoy it as well. That being said, please don't feel bad when you want to praise other teams like Aoba Johsai or any other team, they've written Haikyuu purposely in a way where you can't help but sympathize with all the teams lol. It's just a testament to how great the writing of the series is.
Sarah I love your reaction videos especially that you pick up on not only the technical side of volleyball but also on the emotions that the characters go through with the game. I just had to yell you, we all have mixed love him or hate him feelings about Oikawa. Whether you end up liking him eventually or stay disliking him, I guarantee it’s understandable.
This is just the first season. All of our boys' shortcomings will be developed in such a great way. One thing I absolutely love about Haikyuu is the realistic situations. They have real problems, and real solutions. And even the people who don't play volleyball, haven't ever played it can learn so much. Tanaka's strong mindset, Oikawa's will to never lose to a genius and never underestimate anyone which is why he prepares hard before matches. The liveliness of Hinata, Kageyama's competitiveness and his self growth, everything is just so inspiring. They have all kinds of people playing one game and yet growing so much in so many ways, it's so wholesome to watch with our own eyes. Makes us want to work hard on ourselves and experience the same self growth. Also I love this line, "Oikawa is a douchebag but he is really good". That's like the best description ever. This is something that every Haikyuu fan has felt in their first season. To be honest, I'm really glad that Karasuno is facing off Seijoh... Only against strong opponents can they learn the best from.
Oikawa is well aware long time ago that Kageyama's talent is superior, that he will surpass him in time. But also Oikawa knows he has is own strengths and he knows himself to be far more mature and experienced in game.
one of my favorite things to do is to watch different haikyu reactors first hate fiercely and then fall in love with Oikawa san now and also another setter (no spoilers so not naming) later on in the series. it's really amazing to see everyone go through the exact same changes in emotions I went through hehe :D
I really love Haikyuu! I already watched the show like 5 times. This Episode is showing us how intense everything about this show is. I love the stare down between Oikawa and Kageyama. I am looking forward to your next Video, cause the Episode 21 will be super intense and something special : )
Great reaction as always, thank you so much! Can't wait for the next episode, it's one of my favorites and I think it might be the same for you, since you also love Suga😄 It's time to unleash the hidden weapon! Sarah's relationship with Oikawa is so funny, the faces she makes at him have me in stitches haha. Tbh, I'm usually the same with these types of characters, it took me quite a bit of time to warm up to Tsukishima (even though I always appreciated his salt towards Karasuno's opponents). But with Oikawa.. I liked him right off the bat, can't even say why it happened, so I can't relate to the "yeah, we hated him too in the beginning" comments here lol. Interested to see where Sarah's opinion on him will land after all. Either way, we still have a ton of other characters that we agree on being in the love house😁
same here!! i can't relate to how people were (and are) so conflicted towards him. at first, i just thought he was funny, then i started to respect him and finally, just ended up loving him!! i'm so glad!! 😁
Ooh can’t wait to watch this tomorrow morning! Your uploads are totally my morning pre work ritual, thank you for sticking with this series even though I’m sure you’re busy with other things
Oikawa is a pretty polarizing player. It all depends if you can understand the character because is very deep. And if you keep watching the surface you will always hate him. If you can understand why he put that kind of facade you will probably love him. He is a character that never made a real smile until the end of the manga.
Tanaka's always the first to catch fire he always faces himself head on in a raw unbiased way he is that ever burning bonfire that keeps all the other fires lit Tanaka's my boy
i always love watching your reaction, especially your reaction every time oikawa appear! its funny xD because i was like that too when i first time watching haikyuu haha. thank you so much for taking your time to make a reaction video! much love from me
Atleast I can redeem my boi in his conversation with iwaizumi - Oikawa as we've seen is pretty insecure, stuck to calling kageyama a genius, saying I'm can't set like that at all, I'm just a normal guy. So here we've got the aggressive iwaizumi threatening oikawa, to dare think that he can't set like that. To which he replies, I can't but I won't lose as a setter. Putting iwaizumi at ease that he doesn't have any self-doubts at that moment
this is fun, I am looking forward to see how Sarah's opinion about Oikawa changes or not. I acknowledge Oikawa has his faults but he is my fav character.
17:45 サラは、この時点で山口だけでなく(おそらく)縁下に言及しようとしている。ものすごいキャラクターへの理解と愛。素晴らしい。 Sarah is going to mention not only Yamaguchi but also (probably) Ennoshita at this point. You have a great understanding and love for the character. Amazing.
Great reaction/insights as usual! Just leaving a comment to show my support. Aside from the usual little "iffy" translations, there were some that I felt was pretty "off" in this ep, so am just gonna leave my personal opinions on them: 4:49 「見たな、今。ライトの方」➔”You just saw the guy on the right, didn't you". I feel it would've been clearer to translate it to "He (Kageyama) looked towards HIS right, didn't he". I feel that using "you" there makes it confusing for the audience, & he didn't look at a particular "guy" either. 4:53 「視線で引っかけるのは音駒のセッターがやってたな、そういや」➔"Nekoma's setter tried to trick people using his eyes, didn't he?" Should be more like "tricking people using one's line of sight was something that Nekoma's setter did wasn't it, come to think of it" (Takinoue is recalling that Kenma did just that during the practice match & is thinking that's where Kageyama must've gotten the idea to do so here, but their translation doesn't give the vibe of the latter half). 11:09 「後衛のセッターが出てくる所を狙ってるのか」➔"They're trying to get the setter from the back line to come out" This is definitely a mistranslation. It should be "So, they're targeting the timing/spot where the backrow setter is moving up to the front". Their translation makes it seem like Kageyama had no intention of moving forward but got pushed to do so by their serve. 15:07 「いつも威勢のいいムードメーカーが大人しくなった時の空気の重さったら…ないよね?!」 "Seeing the heavy atmosphere when a team's cheerful mood maker suddenly falls silent... I love it!" I get that "I love it!" is nice & short & gets the point across, but I feel that "The heavy atmosphere that falls when the usually cheerful mood-maker falls silent... is really something, ain't it?" would've been better, since "I love it!" kinda gives an over-excessive "evil feel" to the remark. 23:37「これが金田一の本来の最高打点なんだからさ」➔ "That's where Kindaichi always scored the best" 「本来の最高打点」translated to "always scored" is a bit off-putting to me, since without the setter setting to him at that height/point (like Kageyama during his middle-school years or the setter during the practice match), he hadn't actually "scored" "there". "since that's actually the true highest point of impact for Kindaichi" would've been better. 16:58 余談:ここの石川界人の「ウッス」の演技が何気にとても好きなんだが…。
Thank you for the comments about translation, always appreciate them! One of the reasons why I prefer subs is that usually it allows more details, where as dub is constricted by the timing, which leads to more "loose" translation. But aside from mistranslations, sub can also lose some nuance, like with 15:07 phrase you've talked about. Seems like nothing big, but if someone doesn't really like Oikawa, that "evil feel" will make things even worse, haha. In my language it was something around "... but I kinda like it!"
@@resstie Thanks! Interesting that that "I love" part was translated to "I like" in yet another language, while in Japanese, the subject in that sentence is "heaviness". About the possibility of certain translations making Oikawa-dislikers disliking him even more, someone else in this comments section mentioned not liking "the great Oikawa-san" translation for 「この及川さん」 (5:55) precisely for that reason, & I kinda see these things happening quite often for this character, unfortunately. It might be 1 of the reasons why so many dislike him.
@@bdylp1098 Agree. I noticed that translation sounding more rude/"evil", than it was originally, happens quite often, may that be because of lack of cultural context or just using not the best word equivalent. Like with girls calling Takinoue "ojisan"/"old man", somewhere up in the comments people thought it was quite rude of them to do that, but it wasn't really meant that way. While people don't seem to mind that too much with random side characters or someone like Hinata, for Oikawa (with his external attitude that rubs many people the wrong way initially) it just makes things look worse that it is or even bad when it actually wasn't, like confirmation bias of some sorts. Which is interesting from a psychological perspective, but could be frustrating if it leads to heavy character misinterpretation.
Another example of Haikyuu being poetry in motion again. The episode/run of chapters is about Oikawa the not genius using his experience, tenacity and effort to keep up and be way better than the genius Kageyama. While his technique is the best, he still has a lot to grow as a team player and person. And who better to enter the fray at the last minute? The other not-genius setter who has been behind the scenes practising, observing, and like the more efficient Oikawa, drawing up tactics and signals for his team. The battle of the not-genius setters ensue! And Kageyama has a lot to learn watching from the sidelines. There's one more comparison to draw between Suga and Oikawa here, but minor spoilers on that so maybe another day.
Oh, just wanted to comment pretty much these thoughts! Both of them relay pretty heavily on non-technical (pin-point control) aspects of the game, and it's so interesting to see. Imo, they also have similar issues, but the way they respond to that due to other characters traits is what makes the biggest difference between them here as players. Feels like even the mind frame in which they're using their soft skills is different. (very minor spoiler for the time-skip below!) I would love to see a match between Oikawa and Suga at their prime in AU where Suga wanted to be a pro player, that would've been so much fun! (Can you tell that I love these two? Hahah, can't wait for the ep.21)
So I know this video is 2 years old, but I looked through comments and no one brought this up. The word the subtitles use is 'genius', which is a pretty accurate translation of 'tensai', but we're losing meaning in translation. A better word to get across the meaning of 'tensai' would be 'savant.' It's not a literal translation, but that's what they mean. 'Oikawa is not a Savant' Not sure if this will be even remotely useful, but I think it makes Oikawas back story a little easier to understand.
Oikawa is not a genius because he's just a normal guy who always try his best to do anything to stronger, and i love that, he does everything he can to make his dream come true
Nah, he is a genius too. Being a genius not mean that you always have been good at something. Kageyama, Ushijima, Sakusa... they have trained a lot too. Oikawa didn't see himself as genius because he compared himself with the other too much, but he is as incrible as any genius of series
You'll understand Oikawa later on. You'll see the way he is. He became my favorite character after hating him for a long time (but now it basically changes daily). Oikawa is one of those characters that everybody hates but then they either war with themselves on liking him or love him later on.
He hits my nerve at the first time (when i know who he is) but after i watch all of 4 episodes and continue read manga i have already fall for him because his abilities and commitment to play volleyball. Hope you like him after you see all matches. Waiting for your reaction🤍.
I wanted to comment upon their names. 1) Hinata (日向), the first character means 'sun' and he is truly bright, warm and shines (with enthusiasm) all the time; 2) Tsukishima's 'tsuki' means 'moon' and the symbolism sets them in the opposition, since they are both middle blockers, and if Hinata is all energized and active, Tsukishima is, on the contrary, calm and composed 3) Kageyama (mountain shadow) is a big shadow (dark horse) as a setter of the team and a shadow in contrast with Hinata, because he helps him shine so bright; 4) Daichi (大地) means 'big ground' and he is the foundation of Karasuno, the reliable captain; 5) Tanaka Ryunosuke's 'ryu' means 'dragon' which shows his strong spirit and mental power.
Hinata 日向 means Sun Facing/Towards and 翔陽 Shoyo has the characters of "soar" and "sunshine". Shouyo + 飛雄 (Tobio) makes 翔飛 (soaring flying). Tsukishima has the characters of Moon and Island. Tanaka has the character of Middle and Field (like rice field) and it's a super common name. Tadashi means "Loyalty" and Yamaguchi is also a super common name. Suga has the character of "filial piety" and "support". My favorite is still Ukai (Crow Nurture) and Keishin (Connect Heart/Soul).
all i know is that i'm so excited for her to get to season 2 lol. looking forward to the rest of this season ofc but season 2 just fills in so many blanks
I do not deny that oikawa has a shitty personality, but even then, I feel like most of his thoughts at internal rather than as a monologue on the outside and most of what he says is a way to motivate himself as I can do this.

Y'all really love assuming people are stupid and think being a genius means they don't work hard. Anyone in their right mind who have watched the show, know Kageyama has put up the work.
@@mashaaa000 ^^ read this. Hope you feel like a fool now.
Sarah: “I want Oikawa’s backstory.”
Me: Buckle up sister.
Literally every episode, I'm astounded by her perceptiveness. Those observations skills must be what took her to the Olympics lmao
yea i rember thinking they made up the 2 benched second years in the third season even after his moment lol
@@brandonvu5429 especially considering she spends a week between each episode lol
Same! A lot of other reactors don't even remember that they've seen him before Season 2 lmao. Sarah really pays attention to a lot of small details, and I think it might be because she rewatches the previous episodes when she makes a new reaction.
If there's one thing I love about Karasuno is seeing Nishinoya celebrate Tanaka's points! 13:52 Besties!
Noya and Tanaka's chaotic duo is my fav
Oikawa is one of those characters that have this kind of irritating personality. He is cocky, childish and to immature sometimes. But underneath that layer of personality there is this determination, strength and observant person l. Which is shown in games. That makes him somewhat unique. He felt almost human. The realistic human in this fictional world, not just 1 dimensional character but a really complex. Whether, you hate him or love him, it can't be denied that he is interesting to watch

After you are caught up, and if you’re still looking for more Haikyuu, there are Stage Plays 1-9. Whoever is in charge of casting/hair/make up truly loves Haikyuu lol. The actors are so hardworking/play multiple characters/have so much choreography memorized. Everything is so precise because the actors have to stay in sync with the projections, soundtrack, and moving stage. Cheesy at times but definitely hilarious and should satisfy your want for more Haikyuu lol. (The 10th stage play takes place after the most recent anime season.)
Enjoy!
I always look forward to Sarah vs Oikawa 😂😂😂
Best match of the series 😂😂😂
@@mashaaa000 we live for the drama and character development tbh hahaha
Same I’ve grown to acknowledge & respect Okinawa as a player but i also love to hate on his smugness
@@childe6300 what is funny in Haikyu is that all this « drama » is mostly implied, the watcher/reader has to make things together to really understand a character. That’s what makes this manga well written.
Sarah will need to have a nurse with her for S2 and S3 if she is getting heart attacks from this😂
Aaah. So excited to see this one. Can't wait for the next episode, we all know how much you adore Suga.
She will love the next episode!
@@egomana9329 as a huge Suga lover, it is one of my fav episodes. she'll love it.
One of my fav episodes ever just tears oml
Did anyone else laugh listening to Sarah say she likes the title of this episode and knowing why it’s titled like that hahaha
aahhh her reaction to tanaka!!! it's such a treat seeing the somewhat unexpected emotional kickback from his immense mental fortitude, i'm super stoked for her s4 reactions!!
私は英語がわからないけれど...あなたのリアクション動画が大好きでいつも楽しみにしています!! 可愛くて素敵な動画をありがとう❤️ Karasunoのteamが大好きで、Oikawaが嫌いなこともすごく伝わります〜:D
The title ended up praising oikawa. He's this good IN SPITE of not being a genius. Kageyama may be a prodigy/phenomenon but Oikawa had to grind to get to the level he's at now. I think he's earned the right to be cocky.
SPOILER AND SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THREAD:
TBH I always dislike that because being able to understand teammates is also a type of genius.
SPOILER
i'm pretty sure haikyuu itself at some point questions calling certain players geniuses and ignoring their hard work "because they have natural talent so they have it much easier" 🙄
Hello Sarah! Thank you for introducing me to volleyball and this show! I just played my first beach volleyball game a few weeks ago and even though we lost every set it was so much fun!
I love how she's upset complimenting Oikawa, its so hilarious. Love your reactions Sarah, looking forward to the next ones!
Tanaka my boi being mentally strong and always thinking about his team and teamates I love him so much
If there are 2 eventualities in the series, it's liking Oikawa and Tsukishima more.
I just love to see Sarah’s love-hate perspective of Oikawa in these past few episodes 😆 Also, great insights as always! It’s always an experience to get to laugh and learn so much all at the same time from Sarah’s reactions! Cheering you on for your future matches! 🙌🏼
I love so much Tanaka's mental strength. I wish I could pick up myself like that, he's really admirable
Oikawa's flamboyancy is just there to cover his fear from Kageyama's overwhelming sheer talent 😌
I can’t wait to see Suga-san get some love next episode!
Love seeing Tanaka grow here and your praise for him made me cry a little bit. 💜
You are five episodes away from the end of season 1!!
So excited! But, make sure to watch after the credits on episode 25!!
I love how conflicted Sarah is about Oikawa, I was the same when I watched season 1 😅
I'm still gonna comment in every haikyuu reaction video that Oikawa and Tsukki are my favorite characters
I do that too...i just add owl boy as my third😊
Easy prediction, iwaizumi is so easily going to be her favourite from seijou

@@ruchita6801 they balance each other out perfectly

The next ep is one of my faves! Suga finally gets his time on the court
You should watch episodes 23 and 24 together!
Bump!
up
This is just the first season.
Welcome Back! So excited to continue watching your reactions
I wish you uploaded more often or did two episodes in one video your reactions are great I always watch them as soon as the come out :)
She was busy with Olympics, and from the looks of it, she's not recording from home. People have lives, I think her uploading schedule is fine
She got goosebumps on that tanaka scene, cant wait till tanaka's comeback at season 4, one of best haikyuu scene
Sarah's pout on the thumbnail beside Oikawa is perfect.
Yay Sarah reaction time! I love the Oikawa salt hahahaha, I felt exactly the same way. Can’t wait for next episode!
Sarah: Oikawa is moving the pieces around like a chess pro
Me: Well he is a King after all~~
Oikawa is well aware long time ago that Kageyama's talent is superior, that he will surpass him in time. But also Oikawa knows he has is own strengths and he knows himself to be far more mature and experienced in game.
OMGG YESS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS💗💗
One thing for sure is you can't ignore Oikawa ahaha. He just gets under everyone's skin one way or another
I’m really really looking forward to Sarah’s reaction to Tanaka’s backstory-my favorite of all the backstories.
I really need more and more reactions Sarah, thanks a lot for another great reaction!
one of my favorite things to do is to watch different haikyu reactors first hate fiercely and then fall in love with Oikawa san now and also another setter (no spoilers so not naming) later on in the series. it's really amazing to see everyone go through the exact same changes in emotions I went through hehe :D
I really love Haikyuu! I already watched the show like 5 times. This Episode is showing us how intense everything about this show is. I love the stare down between Oikawa and Kageyama. I am looking forward to your next Video, cause the Episode 21 will be super intense and something special : )
Really love your reaction and how you feel with the characters ❤
WOOHOO NEW REACTION
I’ve already started warning up for the next ep reaction! That’s my faaaaaavoriteeeee!! ( and I’m sure Sarah will love it!!)
Feedback: You're doing amazing sweetie! 🥰
I'm just excited for you to watch the rest of the series. Keep it up! 👍👍
Thanks for blessing us with another video! These are always such a delight.
Your reluctant praises of Oikawa got me feeling so good as an Oikawa simp lol
Tanaka's always the first to catch fire he always faces himself head on in a raw unbiased way he is that ever burning bonfire that keeps all the other fires lit Tanaka's my boy
i always love watching your reaction, especially your reaction every time oikawa appear! its funny xD because i was like that too when i first time watching haikyuu haha. thank you so much for taking your time to make a reaction video! much love from me
Atleast I can redeem my boi in his conversation with iwaizumi -
Oikawa as we've seen is pretty insecure, stuck to calling kageyama a genius, saying I'm can't set like that at all, I'm just a normal guy.
Same here.
17:45 サラは、この時点で山口だけでなく(おそらく)縁下に言及しようとしている。ものすごいキャラクターへの理解と愛。素晴らしい。
Sarah is going to mention not only Yamaguchi but also (probably) Ennoshita at this point. You have a great understanding and love for the character. Amazing.
Ohmigah the thumbnail had me cracking up. You so funny Sarah 🤣 💜
I am soooo interested in seeing how Sarah`s mentality about Oikawa may or will change through all the seasons, love this girl!
Really appreciate your reviews, thank you, Sarah.
"Oikawa is an efficient player but not genius" *goosebumps
haha i love it when ppl start to have conflicting feelings towards oikawa 😄😄
Great reaction/insights as usual! Just leaving a comment to show my support.
Aside from the usual little "iffy" translations, there were some that I felt was pretty "off" in this ep, so am just gonna leave my personal opinions on them:
4:49 「見たな、今。ライトの方」➔”You just saw the guy on the right, didn't you".
@@resstie Yes, "confirmation bias" seems to be the case indeed.
(very minor spoiler for the time-skip below!)
I would love to see a match between Oikawa and Suga at their prime in AU where Suga wanted to be a pro player, that would've been so much fun!
'Oikawa is not a Savant'
Not sure if this will be even remotely useful, but I think it makes Oikawas back story a little easier to understand.
I LOVE YOUR REACTION AS ALWAYS 💕
OMG rocking the Canadian leaf volley ball hoodie!!!
just caught up with all your reaction videos! it was a lot of fun rewatching them. looking forward to your next videos! 😄
I'm looking forward for this and the next seasons
Ugh the frustration of watching a player who has skills , will to win, effort but just not quite there due to lack of experience.
Been waiting for this. This episode is where people start warming up to Oikawa.
Never clicked that fast in my life
Gosh I'm so excited for the next episode mama suga he's good too
Waiting for this😍
lol that face @5:53
Lol I distinctly remember in June (?) of 2022 being on a flight with the Canadian women's volleyball team. It'd be hilarious if you were there.
Hinata is not confused. He does it on purpose and it's actually really funny!
SHE'S BACK!
Giving Oikawa the in-game staredown face :D
i really love to see that it's always the same xD everyone respects oikawa as a player but thinks of his behavior as cocky.
all i know is that i'm so excited for her to get to season 2 lol. looking forward to the rest of this season ofc but season 2 just fills in so many blanks
Me kinda stressed on law school: ....
Seeing this vid: HOLY COW SARAH UPLOADED A NEW EP!
Damn, it's been a hot minute since your last reaction, we're still here though, don't wory
tanaka our mental mvp!! hes the best! 🥰
I do not deny that oikawa has a shitty personality, but even then, I feel like most of his thoughts at internal rather than as a monologue on the outside and most of what he says is a way to motivate himself as I can do this.
Just the comprison with season 4 the curse of speed and I am not gonna lose and take your time. I love this show dammit.
Too bad that today with the incomplete series, only if you see the complete series (including manga) you will understand everything that happens oikawa, after all that I realized that he is one of my favorite characters.
