- The 1996 Suzuki RM250 forks are complete! I rebuilt them using Gold Valves and springs from @racetechsuspension. The Gold Valve kits allow you to dial in your suspension at home to give you a personalized feel based on your weight, riding style and skill level. They are available for almost any motorcycle. See what's available for your bike here: racetech.com/V...

I probably watch hundreds of thousands of videos on RUclips and this is probably right up there with one of the best videos I've ever seen
wow. thanks troy! I struggle a little with suspension vids to make them interesting. They're usually not so popular.
@@madmarc Yeah now I have a new appreciation for my suspension guy. I sent it to him and shared it on my 75k person facebook group.
Outstanding restoring skills
Thank you Eric!
Nice!
You forgot the stickers. They add an extra 10kw at the rear wheel 😅
Marc, you did a great job. They look better than nerw. The. Oil looks toast! Enjoying this build!
Good idea on heating up to get bubbles.
I’m not sure the last layer you put on the legs. Not electroplated. You might want to put on some guards, a bit like Muc Off sell an adhesive sort, or just good old fashioned plastic ones from any store.
Thanks, I'm having them re anodized later.
Cool video mad marc!
Thank you megdang!
Background music makes me feel i am watching post mortem video
Good job 🤩👍
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful!
You are the man
Fantastic work
Nice work 👏 👌 👍 💪
Thank you, Jered!
Fantástico trabajo de como cuidar unas horquillas ,si señor Enhorabuena ..saludos de Pedro..
Gracias Pedro!
Amazing work!!
Nice work, amazing how many moving parts they have inside of them. I'd of been so tempted to have those legs re-anodised again though
Thanks, I'm actually going to pull them back apart and do just that.
@@madmarc 👌🏻👍🏻
There’s not many parts to forks
Nice ! I like the gold on those conventional RM forks but either way very nice.
I might have them re-anonized in gold.
Would look nice and original
Another unbelievably piece of restoration....tell the truth, you really have a time machine and go back to 1996 and buy a brand new set of forks for the after photo don't you. Keep it up, bring these bikes back to life......@stanforadventure
Yessssss...
Amazing job and a great video.
🔥🔥
nice job man, you really made it like new!!! i only brought mine back to working order. if you need original parts, or some addvice on how anything on the bike works, haynes has the original suzuki manual from this bike. i got my manual there and have to say i am glad i got it. there is every single part listed from the whole bike. also all tables and wireing diagrams and just anything needed for the bike. i hope i can rebuild mine also in near future. that would be great.
Thanks man, I have both the Clymer manual and the original Suzuki manual.
nice
Belo trabalho. Parabéns ❗️🇧🇷
Nice clean work....
I have tons of ATV parts to clean including aluminum. Any chance you have a link to the scotchbrite pads that you like for aluminum? Also any tips for cleaning oxidized cast aluminum?
scotch brite are good for cleaning the oxidization off aluminum. see this ruclips.net/user/shortsbYLLnQt1p5g just search ebay for red scotch brite pads
very well done!
oh didn't you have to put in new floating valve seals on the compression dampers?
What part are you talking about?
Art work
Good👍
Kerja yg bagus apik and profesional bangett👍👍💪💪
Gold plated nya dikikis habis bang 😢
Bjr vous faite du tres bon travail bravo 👍
Fantastic
Water blast would have done quick work of that
Surly leaving the outer tubes bare aluminium is a bad idea? Surly the anodising protects them from getting that white rust??
You're right that's why I anodized them gold later
@@madmarc when you got your swing arm back from anodising, did you notice and colour differences near the welds?
@@MrDogtown22 mmm not really. But depending on the welding rod alloy that was used that can happen. Was your swingarm originally painted or anodized? the only issue I had with my swingarm was when i used the wrong welding rod to fill in some holes. it came out gray. i had to redo it with another filler. see my swingarm video. ruclips.net/video/BaQEYHyFh9U/видео.html
@madmarc yeah I've seen that mate nice work. I sanded all the anodising off my original Honda swing arm amd had it anodised. When I got it back it was a diff colour close to the welds. They said this is caused by the heat of the welds changing the metal. They've had it back now to see if they can do it better
Fantastic 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What pads were those ? Primemx ?
You did those entire outer forks with wheels from pryme I assume? I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my rm forks. Got my cerakote swatch set today. I cerakoted my kx forks. They turned out OK for a first timer like myself. Not sure if I'm going to do the rm in cerakote though.
@@someoneyouknow96 I ended up anodizing them gold. Don't bother stripping off the anodizing yourself, just take them to a local anodizing place as is. The place I go to only charges $110 for a set of fork tubes
@@madmarc what? Ive never seen pricing like thst before. That's crazy. Id do that in a heartbeat.
@@someoneyouknow96 I think that's because suspension places outsource their anodizing. They just double or triple the price.
@@madmarc gotcha. Looks like I need to search around. I did contact a place on the other side of the state but they no longer do small stuff
Good vidéo
Awesome
At 1.55 what sort of polishing wheel is this?
See this video at 7.52 ruclips.net/video/Fa8bt_MdO20/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Next YZ 250 and CR 250
🇯🇵good job👍
🔥
Plus you stripped all the protective zinc coating off....Duh.
🥱
Small amount of dirt on them , big deal, wash the damn things.........geeezz.
What's your consulting fee?
👍👍👍
From rust to shine...
1000👍
Новая вилка дешевле...
🦾
"Restored"... You ruined the plating! That treatment costs a lot and it's the main reason why your forks have no pitting at all
😲🥺
